Nice spot for a family getaway

  • 5 of 5

We loved our week at Lutz's lake house. This was the perfect spot for our family (me, my wife, two sons, and family dog) to relax and unwind. Plenty of outdoor activities with the lake and private beach right out the front door. We enjoyed swimming, hiking, kayaking, and just relaxing and taking in the views. The house was clean and comfortable. The swamp cooler does a good job of keeping the house cool even when we had triple digit temps. The large shaded front porch was a great feature, as was the gas grill. The owners live right next door and were very welcoming and accommodating.

Thanks for a great week Lutz family!

Great time

  • 5 of 5

The house is cute, very clean and the view of the lake is unbelievable. I travel with 2 teenagers and they enjoyed every minute of the stay. The were able to swim and meet other young kids their own age. The owners are close by, but the house is totally private. I travel with my two dogs, so the fence and private beach was a hit for us. One more thing, please do take insect repellent, remember it is a lake, so lots of mosquitoes at night. The owners are very nice, Josie was very quick to respond when we needed her and her husband was even giving my husband some fishing tips :}. Refund was quick, we will definitely will be back.

We really enjoyed ourselves. It's extremely relaxing.

Pros- location is so cool. You'd never stay at a hotel and experience this. The neighbor was so nice. He told us stories of hunting bears and fishing. We never met the owner. There is a dock next to the place that is almost privately for your use. There was literally fish jumping all over at all times of day. Feels safe and adventurous. Also near Safeway and other stores. Loved visiting the casino about 20 min away. Random but I loved all the pre recorded bass fishing competitions on the DVR. Stars at night were amazing. The location makes this place super amazing. Cabin layout is cute. You can hear the beach water like its the ocean.

Cons-I had to remind Josey to send my deposit back. I'm still waiting for it. The no swimming sign on the shed was confusing. The owners small dogs bark a lot at all times of day and night. Quiet sometimes for hours and then if someone walks down the road or near by they start again. Beds weren't comfortable. Swamp cooler stopped working mid way through our trip. Bugs are so bad every night for a half an hour before it goes dark we just went in until they'd leave again (Can't have fishing and not bugs). Definitely bring bug spray.

We'll definitely go back one day if I get my deposit back. Unlike anywhere I have ever stayed.

Cute house, smelly water, huge lake!

  • 5 of 5

Josie was a wonderful host! The house is great, exactly as described in the listing. It would be wise to bring bottled water. My kids had a hard time bathing and brushing teeth with the tap water. We rented a boat through boat bound and spent a day tubing and bird watching. We saw TONS of birds, right from the porch, and a mink scampering around the beach. My son caught a small lizard, a small frog, and a walking-stick bug - he wants to return asap!

Relaxing weekend at the lake

  • 5 of 5

We had such a wonderful stay at the Lutz lakehouse. The photos provided are great, but still fail to do the setting justice. The space is just gorgeous and we had such a great time sitting in the beach chairs, sipping coffee or cocktails, and relaxing at the house.

The house itself was perfect - very comfortable beds, nap-worthy couch/chair, fans and a swamp cooler to keep the place comfortable, really nice BBQ for outdoor cooking, and a well-stocked kitchen. There is also a decent sized flatscreen where we could keep the Giants game on in the background. The house is the perfect balance of minimalism and convenience. Never did anything feel cluttered, but if on the hunt for a random item like a hand mixer, for instance, one was there. Sunsets on the pier were gorgeous, and we even spotted a bald eagle. Def recommend renting a pontoon boat in Lakeport - that was a highlight for sure. We would absolutely come back and hope to return again soon.
