Pristine Oceanfront Home on Famous Surfing Beach

Overview

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8) maximum per contract.

“E Komo Mai” and welcome to our Tidepools retreat. Come let us explore the beauty of this private oceanfront estate that is steps away from the flora and fauna of tidepools that are home to many of Hawaii’s ocean attractions. Just steps out of our living room are small

and large tidepools to explore and swim in. If you prefer the pristine sandy beaches of Makaha our oceanfront retreat allows you to do both. Makaha is the best kept secret for those who live here and the guest who visit us because the west side has 20 plus miles of uncrowded white sandy beaches with the bluest waters you have ever seen.

Makaha Surfing Beach is known for its great surf and home to many classic professional surfers. In the winter you can count on being treated to spectacular 20 to 30 feet waves on one day and glassy waters the next…unpredictable and worth experiencing.

For snorkelers, Makaha Caverns are right in our backyard and known to have deep caverns and great snorkeling without having to pay the tour boats to bring you here. Each day the 5 star Disney and Ihilani Marriott hotel visitors pay to go on snorkeling excursions and they come right out to Makaha.

Our guest like that we are just far away enough but still close by to these resorts should they want to plan a romantic fine dining evening or go to a real Hawaiian luau. While here on vacation do your day trips to the popular tourist destinations like Waikiki, Pearl Harbor Memorial and other Oahu tourist attractions and still return to relaxation and beautiful sunsets alone and away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.

Other attractions that you will see right out your window is the whales that dance and jump throughout the day during whale watching season. You may even have a chance to swim with the dolphins as they pass by each morning and return back each evening. Our oceanfront is also home to the endangered monk seal and on some occasions you may see them basking in the sunshine on our shores.

Our spacious three bedroom two full bath panoramic oceanfront getaway is perfect for a large family vacation. We can even accommodate family reunions. Let us make this the most memorable vacation and life event for you…please “E Komo Mai.”

*Please see cancellation policy before booking. All cancelations will incur an additional $50.00 administration fee for canceling at any time.

Beauty you must experience to believe!

  • 5 of 5

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have an ocean in your backyard? Words and pictures cannot accurately described the beauty here. You simply must experience it. This backyard is amazing - palms trees with coconuts, flowering trees, and very well maintained shrubbery. And the view! Crashing waves, neighboring surfers, and visits from monk seals. I don't even know how many hours we spent in the backyard, relaxing and soaking it all in.

The home is by far the best rental I have ever experienced - clean, beautifully decorated, great beds, plush towels, etc. Plenty of room for the eight of us.

The beaches on the west side are beautiful and never crowded. Our stay in the "country" was so much better than Honolulu or a resort. There is no need to fight for space with all the tourists.

We did day trips to hike and swim in waterfalls, visit Pearl Harbor, and other sights. Even with a week at this location we still didn't do all we wanted to.

Carolyn and Joe, mahola. We already miss seeing you and your amazing part of the world.

Wish our stay was longer!

  • 5 of 5

We arrived to hugs from Carolyn, welcoming us to our little piece of paradise. We left wishing we had booked a longer stay! Simply put, we LOVED this home! Carolyn and Joe were both gracious and helpful, but not intrusive. We loved the backyard, with the beautiful sunsets and sound of the ocean and the fire pit. The home was spacious, and we each (7 of us) felt like we had enough space. The ceiling fans were great and provide enough breeze we didn't need to use the AC. We liked swimming in the cove or heading to the beach next door (3 minute walk). It was a little haul to get to Waikiki (60 minutes), but we only went in 3 times in 7 days. You really don't need to leave the serenity of this home. We stocked up at Costco on the way to check in. There is a grocery store a few miles from the house to pick up any small items needed. There was plenty of water shoes, snorkels and wake boards available. Twice we were able to see a monk seal wash himself up on the beach for a nap. The cats you've read about were not intrusive at all, in fact we loved them! If you want to do a Luau, there is one at Paradise Cove and Ko-Olina resort, which is only 15-20 minutes drive. I highly recommend this home and would LOVE to come back. Thank you Carolyn and Joe for making us feel so welcome! Mahalo!

Gorgeous property directly on beach!

  • 5 of 5

We spent an amazing 3 day weekend staycation at the Makaha beach house! The house is located behind a secure gate and directly on the beach! The view is simply spectacular...complete with a manicured lawn and a fire pit. The beach overlooks the tide pools and amazing snorkeling! Makaha Beach is just to the left when you step onto the sand. Carolyn has everything you might need for the beach from plush beach towels, to lounge chairs and a large umbrella. The house is extremely clean, quiet, and spacious with 3 separate bedrooms, two bathrooms and a bonus bed located in the sunroom! Carolyn the owner was gracious and extremely helpful! She was there to welcome us and address any needs, but gave us total privacy during our visit. We love the charm and raw beauty of the west side and will be back!

Paradise in Makaha!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at this rental was fantastic! We were late getting in that day of our arrival, however, Carolyn was sure to still greet us with a big welcoming hug. She and Joe were never intrusive during our stay and if we had questions, quick to help with whatever we needed, even finding us a maile lei for our wedding! The property is absolutely beautiful and very well maintained! The fire pit was fun - we roasted marshmallows for s'mores one night. They provided anything we could have needed for our time on the beach and in the water including snorkel gear, chairs, towels, and umbrellas. Makaha is wonderful - definitely far enough from the more tourist-y parts of Hawaii to provide more of a laid back local feel. I cannot brag enough on how beautiful it was to sit outside in the backyard and just watch the waves crashing in. My family thoroughly enjoyed all of the snorkeling along the reefs and my kids had fun jumping in the tide pools. Makaha beach is literally 2 minutes walking distance and NEVER crowded. Everything in our rental was comfortable and we spent a couple of days just enjoying the relaxation of being there. It's at least a 45 minute drive if not longer to quite a few destinations but you are never w/out a gorgeous view on those drives so it's still a WIN! If we are ever blessed enough to make a trip back to Hawaii, this will definitely be the rental of choice for us again! Thanks Carolyn and Joe!
