About Your Accommodations

The large windows and private balcony offer impressive views of the peaks and Kirkwood Valley, while the rustic interior style adds a cabin feel to your stay.

About the Property

The Whiskey Tower sits and the base of “Whiskey Run” which can be access by way of traversing towards Red Cliffs once you get off Chair 2. These residences offer the resort’s highest accommodations, towering up to eight stories over the valley floor. The 7800 Bar & Grill is located on the 1st floor and offers a large communal deck that many people enjoy while eating, socializing, and relaxing in between runs and after their day on the hill.

**Please Note: These condos are located above the 7800 Bar & Grill, which occasionally features live music and dancing. While this may be a selling point to some groups, families looking for more quiet time would likely be more comfortable in another complex. We offer many other properties that will be a great match. From Sunday to Friday, noise will extend no later than 10pm, and on Saturdays, the festivities must quiet down by midnight. If you experience any disturbance from noise, please contact the 7800’ directly at 209.258.8800

Apartment OK , not sure about Kirkwood.

  • 3 of 5

Apartment was clean and comfortable and in a good location with short walk to lifts and easy ski in. The building its in is in great need of a spruce up though. Dark hallways, very tired carpet and very musty smell. The apartment does not have Wifi, which is quite amazing this day and age. As small business owners it was imperitive that we had email access constantly because a holiday is never a 100% holiday when you run your own business. Red Awning manage the property and They were great in helping us sort this potential nightmare out by tapping into a nearby network thanks to the on site staff. The apartment sleeps 12 but be aware that if you are on the sofa couch the heating cuts in with a sound like a 747 taking off. Not a good sleep if you're in the lounge area. But aside from that it was OK. After the room rate, the ridiculous cleaning fee plus the taxes, we paid quite a lot for 2 nights so I guess our expectations were higher!! And make sure you bring plenty of groceries!!! There was literally ONE place to eat out in Kirkwood and that was a 5 minute drive away at Kirkwood Inn. There are a few other eateries but they were either closed by 6pm or just were'nt opening. Don't trust literature in and around the village to be accurate. Oh the General store was open but $15 for 2 cans of soup and some butter wasn't ideal. The skiing was reasonably good and they probably had the best snow in the Tahoe area (very light season to date). So the visit was OK but the cost and remoteness left us thinking more of other options.

Great location

  • 4 of 5

My family really enjoyed our stay. It's our first ski-in and ski out rental, and we could see the lifts from our balcony, and came back for a lunch break with healthy food choices.

The only issue was it doesn't have WiFi and some electric plugs had no power. We didn't bother to fix these, since we spent most of our day on the mountain slopes, and at night, we watched many great movies, thanks to the great selections provided there.
