About David Yildiz
I live in Berlin Massachusetts with my wife and 3 children, and we try to make it down to Manasota Key whenever we can. I grew up in New England but I will retire on Manasota Key!
David Yildiz purchased this House in 2014
Why David Yildiz chose Englewood
This home is a 5 minute walk to Stumps Pass which is the real treasure on Manasota Key. It is a mile of undisturbed beach along the Gulf of Mexico where seashells and shark teeth wash up. The beach stays secluded due to the very limited parking, a huge plus if you live here. A hiking trail passes through five distinct natural communities in Stumps Pass Park that provide homes for many species of wildlife. There are covered picnic tables located along the trail and you have access to both the Gulf and Bay sides at certain points along the way. Wildlife consists of manatees, gopher tortoises, ospreys, snowy egrets, terns, and magnificent frigate birds. Take advantage of the Ranger-led nature hikes that are available in the winter.
What makes this House unique
The home has the best views on the island as there is a widows watch that rises 5 stories high where you can see the southern tip of the island as well as Lemon Bay. You are steps from the beach, and only a 5 minute walk to Stumps Pass State Park. The house was designed to be handicapped accessible with an elevator and a wheelchair friendly master shower. We provide free use of bikes, kayaks, and stand up paddleboards as well as beach gear like coolers, towels, toys, and chairs. The home offers high end appliances and a fully equipped kitchen.

Special Family Getaway Celebration
We loved the layout of the house. It was perfect for our family get together. We had 4 families with 8 adults and 7 grandchildren celebrating a 60th birthday, 40th anniversary, a 40th birthday and a 10th birthday all rolled into one celebration. Three families were on the second floor and we (the grandparents) stayed in the master bedroom on the 3rd floor. The first floor kept our two vehicles safe in the garages. Having an elevator was really nice for check in and check out days with all of our luggage. Of course the grand kids were excited to discover the "tippy-tippy-top" area of the house which gave us a wonderful view of the ocean, beach and surrounding area of Manasota Key from the Widow's Watch upper deck. The kitchen was on the 3rd floor which was well stocked with everything needed for cooking. Plenty of dishes for a large crew. The grill worked fine and was on a small separate outdoor deck which was nice for safety reasons with the grandkids.
We even held an Easter egg hunt in the side yard which had a privacy fence around the home. There were plenty of beach toys and accessories for the many short walks down to the beach which was about 100 yards away. We were very excited to find that within walking distance was Stump Pass State Park, which had trails that led to an amazing lagoon area where the kids could play in the water and build sand castles. We had rented a pontoon boat for a day and spent some time exploring Lemon Bay where we saw dolphins swimming alongside our boat. We were able to land the pontoon at this lagoon area so we spent some fun time there.
David communicated with us very well and responded quickly to the small issues that came up. The half bath toilet lift chain broke and was fixed the next day even though we had temporarily repaired it. The screen/storm door leading to the Widow's Watch was not closing properly and again was fixed right away. The main problem that we had was the second floor AC was not working which made it a little uncomfortable on that floor. The 3rd floor AC unit was working well which made a bad situation more bearable. To David's credit, he was working with the technician all through our stay to get it repaired, but unfortunately they installed a faulty compressor and had to order a different one. All in all, we enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend it highly.
8 women slept comfortably, cooked some, and talked a lot. We walked the beach, ate at local restaurants, and shopped locally.
Nice & relaxing... let David know some of things wrong he got right back to me
Everything we needed and more!
We (6 adults, 2 teenagers, 1 4-year old, and 2 3-year olds) spent 8 wonderful nights in the big yellow house! The floor plan allowed for everyone to have their own space as well as plenty of room for all to gather together. The elevator was oh so helpful with the little ones and our 80+ aunt and uncle that came to visit for suppers and sunsets. We took advantage of the kayaks and bikes several times throughout the week. The house was equipped with everything we needed (including many kitchen spices, beach umbrellas, beach towels, beach toys, and plenty of pillows to choose from). The outdoor shower really helped keep the sand out of the house. Two shower heads in the master walk-in shower came in handy with the little ones and was one of their favorite parts of the trip. In addition, David was great to work with as well!
They are building 2 houses right between the house and the beach which cut down a little on the views and the quickest walkway to the beach; however, the renters at the two next door on-the-beach houses told us to use their yard to get to the beach (everybody is so nice!). Even so, it really was a very short walk to the next beach access point. We loaded everything up in the provided wheelbarrow, wheeled it over, and set up our beach camp. We did lots of shelling, saw baby sea turtles, and had a great time on and off the water! Thanks again, David!
Great vacation rental for a large family!!
Manasota Key rental was superb - everything we hoped for and more. The elevator was a plus to the great house. Location to the beach was very close - across the street and a short walk. Definitely a place we would stay at again.
