Guestbook comments from the owner

Thanks for a fun time. Our friends loved it. We just laid back and partyed (quietly). Too bad the hot tub was

closed. We apologise for breaking a cup and plate. Please deduct them from our security. Can we contact

you soon for a summer rental next year?

Wonderful Home - everything was perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Our group, of 6 adults, had a great time at this home. Plenty of room for everyone. Excellent Living Room, Kitchen, & Dining Room area for hanging out and socializing. The view of the bay was fantastic! I highly recommend this place and would love to stay there again. Thanks!

Beautiful and relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

George and Kathy's house is amazing! Well kept, well furnished, and everything about it is relaxing, especially that view! We spent most of the time outside and the hot tub at night was great. George and Kathy are great hosts, responsive, and very friendly. I would highly recommend staying here for your next getaway!

View is extraordinary!!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was great. We enjoyed the open floor plan and the sliders lining the deck were great. So enjoyed seeing the bay and bridge. Even though we had a day of intermittent rain it was interesting to just sit and watch the water and fog rolling by. The home is equipped with a lot of items to make your stay enjoyable. We also enjoyed the hot tub. We were able to do some crabbing which were yummy. On the morning we were leaving we got to see two eagles!! All in all a great Labor Day weekend.

Great stay, beautiful sunsets, best hospitality yet!

  • 5 of 5

Staying at George and Kathy's couldn't be better. We have been using Home Away for years and have stayed at many homes, including Hawaii. George couldn't have been a better host. The house was beautiful, stocked with everything you need to get started, great appliances. The day before we were to arrive, a tornado struck the bay. We were already on our way and staying in NJ for a few days. George called to tell us what happened, said he was driving to the house, and would call to let us know what happened. Luckily for George and Kathy the tornado went right over their house and landed on the street behind them! The destruction was awful! George kept in touch letting us know that there still was electricity at the house and no damage. He kept contact with us while we were driving down to make sure we weren't getting lost.

The house is beautiful with two levels, master upstairs with full bath across the hall and one additional bedroom. The living room is open concept with kitchen, dining room. There is a full bay of sliders, so there is a lot of natural light coming in, and all you see is the bay and the Bay Bridge. There is a large flat screen TV on the wall. A gorgeous, massive, stone fireplace is also in the living room, it is gas fired so easy to use.The deck off the living room is the full length of the house with plenty of chairs, lounge chairs and a table and chairs for dining. We had coffee and breakfast outside most mornings. Downstairs is finished with two more bedrooms and a large playroom. There is a slider that exits to the backyard with a patio, the hot tub is there, the grill, and a picnic table. Great place for kids that they would love! The yard is great with a large boat dock and two chairs on the end of the dock. We had drinks/glass of wine out there and watched the sunsets. It was nice that the yard sloped slightly, and the few stairs that went to the dock were not steep, but wide and well spaced. The end all was the great hot tub at the end of the day! Another great place to watch the sunsets, and the heavy traffic move over the bridge.

George and Kathy were great hosts, attentive and such a pleasure to deal with. There when you needed them, but not bothersome. If you're looking to stay on Chesapeake Bay, don't overlook this house.

Great location, beautiful sunsets!

  • 4 of 5

A great place for a reunion of MD friends. We spent every evening on the porch delighting in the sunsets, the marine traffic, and the Bay Bridge! Only quibble is that while there is a newish and large kitchen (where some user information would be helpful), the bathrooms are dated and the linens and mattresses need replacing.

Owner's Response: Two of the mattresses are new and one of them, the king size, cost several thousand dollars. The others are being replaced (Thanks for the feedback). The bathrooms are dated but very clean and are also on our list of future renovations. Much of the house has already been done. The Kitchen is four years old and spacious, but not sure what user info you refer to would be helpful. Thanks, George and Kathy
