Guestbook comments from the owner

We arrived after 5 days on Anegada to this most beautiful villa. We have absolutely loved staying here - watching the boats, the shooting stars, sunrise & sunset. What more could anyone ask for? The birds, the land crabs, goats and chickens have kept us well amused.

I think we have managed to explore much of the island although I'm sure we have left more for another visit. Yes, we will be back. Nothing could beat eating here on the wraparound terrace with the stunning view.

Thank you for providing us with a wonderful home to enjoy, relax and recharge our batteries. Thanks to to Tiina - it was lovely having someone meet us and be at the other end of the phone for our questions. And thank you to Angela for making the house look and feel great again!

This villa is architecturally interesting and very spacious. Situated on the hillside overlooking Leverick Bay it did not disappoint. Beautiful views of Leverick bay, Mosquito island and Prickly Pear island with warm breezes and plenty of sailings vessels to watch it is a pure delight. The villa is quite large with everything you'll need to cook, including several spices and condiments. The bed was comfortable, it has a foam topper, and plenty of linens, beach towels etc. to get you through a long vacation. All the furniture is handmade and comfortable. We took naps on the couch (naps are rare for my husband). The villa comes with everything you need to enjoy your BVI vacation; beach chairs, snorkel gear even noodle floats. I can't speak highly enough of Michael and her caretaker Tiina, both were helpful and very accommodating.

Paradise on Earth

  • 5 of 5

If you want to experience a home set in a tropical paradise overlooking the endless shades of blue of the Caribbean, look no further. From the very first outreach about booking to the conclusion of our trip, Michael was beyond helpful and provided details around every aspect of the travel to and from the island as well as the home itself. House Manager Tiina met us at the dock, get us set with our rental car, took us to get provisions and got us all settled in the villa. She is amazing and such a great resource during our stay. The photos cannot do justice to the spectacular views from almost every side of the villa itself. You almost can't believe it's real and right in front of you. The home is built into the hillside overlooking the sea and Leverick Bay beneath and is surrounded by lush, flowering tropical plants and trees for complete privacy. All of the furnishings, including some custom made, are very comfortable and functional in addition to being perfect for the home's style. We spent hours on the deck recliners enjoying the view of the water and boats of all kinds coming and going after a full day of snorkeling, beach time and exploring. This home and Virgin Gorda are the perfect destination for water sports lovers, beach enthusiasts, snorkelers and divers, and anyone who loves beauty and relaxation on "island time." Visit Spring Bay, Long Bay and Valley Truck Bay for great snorkeling. Savannah Bay was also a wonderful day. Can't go wrong with any of the beaches. Take the free ferry to Bitter End Yacht Club for some brick over pizza and the best key lime pie. Visit Hog Heaven for the spectacular views and great food -- ribs, fried chicken and fresh potato salad were among our favorites. Ride out of the Copper Mine ruins (closed in the mid-1800s) and get great views of the Atlantic side of the island. The Top of the Baths restaurant is always a great lunch stop but go back at dinner for a more upscale dining experience and menu - on certain nights they also have a fire dancer which was awesome. We had a great experience with Mahogany car rentals as well. My only hesitation is recommending is that everyone will discover this treasure making it harder for us to find an open date next time we visit -- and we will. Thanks for a vacation of a lifetime!

Amazing tranquility and beauty

  • 5 of 5

This was by far the best vacation we have had, the peace and quiet of Virgin Gorda is second to none. I feel comfortable saying Villa Alizes' is a must experience, especially if you like peace, quiet, and beauty. The views from the deck, I will never forget, was so beautiful to wake up to that beauty every day. Michael was so kind and helpful from the first contact to the last.

My husband and I love to snorkel and I have to say the best on the island was just down the road at the "private beach", go in by the dock and swim towards the windsock.....amazing! We loved visiting all the beaches with our favorites being Spring Bay and Savanah Beach. The Baths are fun and beautiful but once was enough as we snorkeled there several times from Spring Bay and enjoyed that just as much. Enjoyed all our meals out with our favorite restaurant being Coco Mayo, although Hog Heaven was a fun casual night out with great food. This will definitely be a return home to visit. Can't thank you enough Michael for sharing your beautiful home.

AWESOME DESTINATION

  • 5 of 5

I would highly recommend Villa Alizes'. We loved the house!!! Breathtaking views from the deck and very comfortable and clean. Perfect for 2 couples. Beautiful views of the bay with all the sailboats coming and going and all the Islands of the North Sound. Michael was very attentive to the needs of his guests.

We enjoyed all the beaches, especially Spring Bay and Savanah Beach. It's a quick trip down to Leverick Bay Resort for a swin and dinner or a drink. We found everyone to be friendly and enjoyed many of the restaurants. Sugar Cane was one of our favorites.

Owner's Response: Dear Jackie and Bob, thank you so much for this lovely review. We loved having you and your friends with us! And are touched that you enjoyed so much what we love about our house -- during the days, the panoramic views of the water from every room -- and then our dark, star-filled skies at night! And thanks for noting our location, Leverick Bay Resort is a treasure -- it's great to have our guests be able to enjoy its pool and fantastic restaurants. We look forward to having you visit us again! Till then, my best! Michael

Fabulous snorkeling and views

  • 5 of 5

Ocean, hills, sailing ships, quiet, beauty - everywhere we turned we found all of the above, starting with the expansive view from the deck and at perfect beach after perfect beach. We love to snorkel - we recommend Simpson and Nail Bays - and were out for hours every day in the crystal clear waters or tucked under a palm tree on the beach. It was a little crowded right at the Baths (though worth seeing), but there were many other spots that were virtually deserted, none more than a 15 minute drive away. Michael, the owner, was exceptionally responsive and considerate, from start to finish, and we always felt genuinely well cared for, especially as we navigated the plane/ferry/car rental connections. The notebook at the house was stuffed with info and ideas, and the nearby manager was easily available. The house is spacious, quiet, and simply lovely. Two couples can easily fit in with lots of privacy. From the north-facing deck we enjoyed many rainbows, boats, and stars overhead. Of note, eating out was rather costly and limited in quality, so we cooked most of our meals at home. We definitely recommend a car - and the property - and hope to return some day.

Owner's Response: Dear Verona, I am beyond touched by your kind review, it was our total pleasure! So happy that our home provided you both a nice balance for your vacation: Relaxation among the quiet, natural surroundings of the house, and then enjoying the splendid beaches and reefs of beautiful Virgin Gorda. VG is a bit off the beaten path, and that keeps it so untouched. So, it was my pleasure to help you both find your way here! We hope that you will visit us again!! Michael

Great Views & Setting

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this villa for 11 nights in May 2014. Other than the view from up at Hog Heaven the view from the front deck (and living area, and bedrooms!) of this villa has to be one of the best on the island. The villa comes with all the amenities you need with a great location from which to explore the island. You are right at the Leverick Bay resort, which has many activities...plus you can get the Saba Rock ferry over to Saba Rock for happy hour and Tarpon feeding. We did day trips to many of the beaches on the island; the Baths, Spring Bay, Savannah Bay, Mahoe Bay, Long Bay and the list goes on! Bucks Market at the Spanishtown Marina was more than sufficient for all of our in house food/beverage needs and the small market at Leverick Bay was stocked much better than I had thought it would be. We will be back to this lovely spot!

Owner's Response: Dear Chris, Thank you for such a wonderful review!! I agree, having this spectacular view of the ocean -- from even the bedrooms, is what so special, and keeps us returning to our island home. I am so happy that you discovered how convenient our setting is for groceries/shopping, as well as site seeing. Bravo that you got to so many of Virgin Gorda's beautiful beaches, even the more secluded ones -- that is the beauty of an extended stay. Come back soon, we are always adding new touches to all the amenities we have in the house to make a stay comfortable - we hope to welcome you for another long, restful vacation here in Paradise!
