About Patty Midgette

My husband James and I have five children (can you imagine all the friends we take) and just love going to the lake with friends and family. This is a picture of myself, youngest son and grandson.

Why Patty Midgette chose Alabama

We choose to buy at the lake to have a place we can gather to make life time memories.

Good stay but over all cleanliness was poor.

  • 3 of 5

We enjoyed our stay. The location was great and the inside of the house was nice with a fantastic layout for a multifamily vacation with kids. Access to the water was perfect and thats where we spent most of our time.

Over all cleanliness of the house and yard was rather lacking though. Upon arrival, a couple trips through the house barefoot and your feet were black, the bed linens were musty and had to be washed prior to use. We killed a few roaches in the master bedroom and one in the laundry room. The screened in back porch was absolutely covered in spider webs and spiders from floor to ceiling. Could not lean on the rail for fear of getting a spider on you. I know that type of thing is common on the lake but this porch had not been cleaned in A WHILE! The yard was a nice size with plenty of room to roam and access the water. However we had to be on guard for all the ant beds.

Again, we had a good time I want that to be understood. We would stay again with a couple conditions. When you pay the amount of money we paid for 4 nights and 5 days at the lake, there is a reasonable expectation that you could have the cleanliness to go along with the rest of the creature comforts you get at home. Maybe the owners need to review their cleaning crew.

Great

  • 4 of 5

We loved our stay, wish the weather was better. It rained a good bit. The house was perfect. Only a few problems no hot water in the bunk room. Also we could not find the paddles for the kayaks. We would have liked to have wifi ( I was good the kids were lost without it) Great house if we don't find one of our own soon we would Love to rent it again. Thank you Jerri Smith

The house was great, beautiful yard and screen porch to view the lake

  • 5 of 5

This is a great lake house with a large porch to sit and view the beautiful lake. Their is a bunk room that 6 of the kids on our trip were able to all sleep in that had a pool table and its on bathroom. The pictures of the house are accurate and the house is just a great home. The view of the lake is awesome. I highly recommend this house to anyone looking to stay on Lake Logan Martin. You are also close to the marinas and restaurants so although you are in a beautiful area of the lake, you can get back to retail areas and restaurants quickly as needed.

Ideal for Families

  • 5 of 5

Looking for a house on a lake that could accommodate all 15 of us was daunting especially as we had 9 kids and not all could swim, this house was absolutely perfect, the water was shallow for the little ones, while the older kids fished and jumped off the dock and swam in safety. The garden was very large , plenty of room to run around and play. The house was very well appointed , the kids room was awesome, enough beds that they could all pile in together and having a second fridge in the kids room was a great idea, as it allowed us to put all their drinks and snacks in one place. ( Thank you for the train table , we had one tot who played on it all weekend )

The deck was well used by all especially at night , it was large enough for us all to be together, and because of the height it was easy to keep an eye on everyone during the day, although the stairs up were a little steep.

We enjoyed the canoe, and the hammock and we used the grill every evening.

The home could do with a deep clean , the dishes were in the dish washer when we arrived and we had to set it to run, and wash the floor in the kitchen which was sticky, there was also trash on the porch from the last tenants, We probably left it cleaner then when we arrived, but the bathrooms were clean and the bedding smelled fresh.

All in All we had a great time and would not hesitate to recommend this home to everyone and we are thinking about coming back next year.
