Why Kristy Kalisky chose Canyon Lake

I've been going to Canyon Lake as a kid where my dad would take me skiing and tubing. I had always wanted a lake house. I chose Canyon Lake because of the location. Although it was out of the city, it was so conveniently located to everything.

What makes this house unique

Although I've grown out of the tubing and skiing, I still enjoy being out on the boat with friends and family.

I also love the serenity that comes with being on the lake. In the mornings I drink my coffee on the deck and read a book, and the evening we BBQ, and watch the sunset.

I can't forget to mention that we love to go to Gruene!!!

Nice Texas Hill Country cabin with wonderful view!

  • 4 of 5

Nice, clean, comfortable cabin. Very spacious with pretty rock fireplace. Great covered, elevated porch where you can relax and view the lake, and tons of deer in the backyard. Very quiet neighborhood. Only detraction to our stay was the couch and love seat in the TV/den area was very broken down and uncomfortable. Younger persons may not care, but us oldies had a tough time with it. Nonetheless, we all enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place for relaxing and enjoying the Canyon Lake area.

Relaxing view

  • 2 of 5

I thought the home was very clean and loved spending most of our time on deck with view of Canyon Lake. Unfortunately, house next door was like a salvage yard. There were at least 4 cars in front and one in wooded area in back that were "junked". The house looked to be abandoned as well since there was a lot of visible damage on outside of home. What was sort of creepy is someone DID show up to home late during the night while we slept and seemed to be gone early evening. Other than that, we enjoyed to home but would maybe look elsewhere next time only because of house next door.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review. I have tried to get his house cleaned up by the homeowners association, but unfortunately he has come under hard times. My neighbor is a really nice Man and is a bartender at night which explains his late night and he delivers papers in the morning. He is just trying to make ends meet.

Very pleasant home for a family getaway

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at the Canyon Lake property for a short family weekend getaway. It is a very nice well equipped and clean property, which was pet friendly on top of everything! The deck is lovely for cool evenings with a view on the lake. Communication was easy with our hostess Kristy who was very responsive. The location is good too, relatively close to restaurant,s shops and parks. Th only negative point I can see was the comfort of the beds (quite noisy in ne of the room), but others may be just fine with it. I liked the decor and really there was everything you may need to have a relaxing time! Will recommend or return.

Great place to stay,

  • 5 of 5

This dog friendly, kid friendly place was wonderful for gparents and kids/gkids!. Close enough to SA to enjoy SeaWorld and close enough to New Braunfels for tubing and water park. Also, close to the Horseshoe.

The house is wonderful for relax time. Large covered deck is perfect with wonderful view and parade of bucks and doe for entertainment. With trips to Fredericksburg (and Luckenbach) there are plenty wineries, lavender farms and quaint shops to visit! Enjoyed this stay!!!
