Our condo complex in the last few years has just undergone a Multi Million dollar renovation, making it one of the top places to stay in NSB.  It is in a gated community with beautiful ocean views from every unit. There are 2 pools (1 heated) and a hot tub. A grill is available in the common area.  

The unit has 2  bedrooms, one full master (Oceanside with sliding doors to a balcony), 1 bedroom with two twin beds, a laundry room, entrance, living room, dining room and kitchen. The layout of the unit is unique in that both bedrooms are separated and have lots of privacy. There is approximately 1500 square feet of living space and a total of 1700 square feet, including  the patio. The unit is beach front on the 10th floor and has stunning beach views. The steps to the pool and beach area are just a short elevator ride down.

The living room is large and open with a beautiful view of the ocean.  In the living room there are wall to wall, floor to ceiling windows/sliding glass doors with fully retracting Plantation Shutters offering beautiful views of the ocean from the entire living/dining area.  There is a large LED HDTV in the living room with a blu-ray DVD player. We now have expanded Digital CABLE IN THE LIVING ROOM, FREE INTERNET AND PHONE also included. Living room seating consists of a large sofa and love seat and two large club chairs. The covered patio off the living area and extending the full width of the condo, has a deck table and four chairs.

In the Master bedroom is a king size sleigh bed with matching night stands and a large entertainment center with an HDTV and DVD player.   The Master is large and open with plantation shutters on sliders for entrance to the patio where there are tables and chairs.   The Master opens up to a Master bath with double vanities, a large walk-in shower and an oversized tub.  The Master closet is a walk-in with lots of built-in storage.

From the kitchen the view of the ocean is beautiful, making it nice for the cook who is preparing the meal. There is a large bar with three bar stools, a large dining room table which will accommodate 6-8 people.  The kitchen has all the cookware, plates, glasses and serving items needed.  Appliances include a stove, side by side refrigerator, microwave, disposal and dishwasher.  Also included are a coffee maker, toaster/oven, Cusinart food processor and blender.  There is also a beverage center between the living room and the kitchen with a bar sink and glass storage area.

The second bedroom has two twin beds and a huge walk-in closet. There is a large armoire with a TV with DVD player.

The is a separate laundry room with washer and dryer.  There are screen doors on every door, making it nice to occasionally open up and feel the ocean breeze.  All linens and beach towels are furnished.

New Smyrna Beach is filled with numerous fun things to do. Some examples are shopping (and  walking) on Flagler Ave., antiquing on Canal St., strolling though the Saturday morning farmers' market, enjoying shows at the New Smyrna beach playhouse, kayaking on the inter coastal (where you will see manatees up close!), and deep sea and flats fishing.

NSB has a wonderful Little Theatre here where the performances are fantastic. We also have a very nice Museum in the city. Good restaurants are abundant. During Shuttle Launches we view the launches from our deck.

This was our 4th stay at this condo unit at the Tradewinds, in NSB. We keep coming back each year because the condo itself, the complex overall, and especially the owners, are all wonderful. The condo is always clean, well-equipped, and contains every amenity one could want. The furnishings are very nice and the beds, in particular, are extremely comfortable. All the appliances are fine and the kitchen has everything you could want in cookware, dishes, glassware, utensils, etc. Its especially nice to have a modern washer and dryer right in the complex located in their own laundry room. We love the layout of the condo and enjoy the wide expansive views of the beach/ocean from both the living room and the master bedroom. We love the Tradewinds' location and we cannot say enough good things about NSB. The management and maintenance staff at the Tradewinds are wonderful and go out of their way to ensure you have a great stay. As for NSB, its a great small town with fantastic restaurants and shopping.

Having read a recent negative review (from this year) of this condo and its owners, we were really taken aback by the remarks submitted. We too stayed at the Tradewinds during its ongoing renovation work. And while we too had to deal with the daytime noise and construction issues, we had been fully advised well ahead of time by the owners as to the situation that we could expect to find. The owners, went out of their way to detail the ongoing status, at several weekly/monthly intervals prior to our arrival, and gave us ample opportunity to back out of our contract and to also offer us a discount when we decided to still come down as planned. We have worked with the owners for several years/stays, as noted, and cannot imagine them not fully disclosing the ongoing work and situation at the unit and the complex. Likewise, we have never found the description of the condo and its amenities, as described in the one-star review, to be accurate in any way. We have rented properties thru VRBO and other owners/companies for vacations all over the U.S. and have never encountered more genuine, nice and forthright owners than the good folks who own this condo. Its why, yet again, we will be coming back to this unit again next year. We love this unit, the Tradewinds complex, and NSB. You could not want or choose a more perfect combination for a great vacation.

Miserable holiday

We were uninformed prior to arrival that both condo towers were undergoing extensive repairs. Hydraulic drills ran from 8:30 to 4:30 daily. The noise was so unbearable that we had to leave the condo for the entire day. we wrere unable to use the balcony(the reason we rent facing the ocean) as a safety precaution due to the work on building. Couldn't even open the patio doors - no fresh air or sounds of the ocean. The heated pool had been closed for 4 months prior to arrival and wasn't slated to open until July. Dust and grime from construction was everywhere. The tennis and shuffleboard courts were closed. The work out area smelled of mold and was missing the lower 3' of drywall and all the carpeting due to a storm 4 months prior. This condo is very dated with everything except appliances dating to the mid 80's. Kitchen pots and pans are badly scratched or made of aluminum.. The supply of spices in one cabinet is all past the due date. The interior of cupboards needs a good cleaning as they are greasy and dirty. The main TV arbitrarily shuts off every few hours. When the owners were approached about a partial refund due to these deplorable conditions which we were unaware of, after deliberation they decided that only 10% of our holiday have been adversely affected by these conditions. Their attitude was sadly directed toward their money as opposed to their client's experience. The positive is, the beach is lovely on this no car section and the area has little traffic. There are excellent attractions nearby but you will need to travel a fair distance by car to reach them (Cape Canaveral, Daytona or Orlando) however Flagler Ave has many interesting boutiques.. There are lots of good restaurants to suit any taste. All in all, these Tradewinds have caused us to set sail for somewhere else next year.

Owner's Response: We go out of our way to ensure our renters are informed regularly & try in every way possible to help them have an enjoyable stay. Certainly a disappointing review from two time renters who liked the condo so much they rebooked for 2017 before departing the condo in 2016. Following 2 excerpts of emails from the renter regarding condition and quality of the condo tell a much different story. Excerpt of email from the Renter: “ We arrived Tuesday afternoon. How wonderful to wake up to the sound of the surf.  Thank you for such a well-equipped condo.  Everything indicates pride of ownership and a sense of a well-looked after property.  Thank you for the thoughtful bottle of wine. As to next March 2017, we would be delighted to return and enjoy your condo.  It did not take us long being here to realize that this was where we could relax and feel at home." Another Excerpt of email from the Renter: “I mailed you the deposit for the rental of your condo next March 2017.  Thank you for your lovely condo for the month.  We are looking forward to next year already.” The facts are, we did inform the renter of the ongoing repairs to the complex and of the heated pool being closed for damage repairs. The main pool and hot tub were always available during their stay. We informed them the deck would not be accessible, but would still have a view. We also gave the code to the lanai of our adjacent condo to use during their stay as well as use of beach chairs, beach carts and umbrellas. The lanai is equipped with ceiling fan, deck heater, table & chairs & 2 lounge chairs & has beautiful sunset views over the intercoastal waterway. The renters were called on January 16th, 6 weeks prior to their travel to update them on the progress of the repairs and to offer a deposit refund & help with finding other accommodations if they desired. During the call the renters conferred and decided they would continue with the rental.  The renters were given a discount upfront off current rates because of the work and after expressing displeasure with their stay were given another discount.  The pots and pans are actually high quality stainless steel with copper trim from Costco and are in like new condition. We do not provide spices & other consumables to renters. TV(cable) will automatically shutoff unless refreshed periodically, as typical of most cable systems. As to the Condo being worn out and dated, we think the pictures tell the true story. Please view our other excellent reviews.

The Perfect Escape

We had an amazing vacation staying in this condo at Trade Winds!! The condo is beautifully decorated and had everything we could possibly want or need. We enjoyed spectacular views of the ocean from the kitchen, living room and master bedroom. During our stay, we enjoyed swimming in the pool, relaxing in the hot tub and evening walks on the beach. We would highly recommend. We can’t wait to come back!!

Like a Second Home at the Beach

We rented this unit to escape part of the winter up north. Little did we know it would be like a 2nd home at the beach. It was beautifully decorated, comfortable, well equipped and the owners were fantastic to deal with. All that coupled with the great town of NSB and it could not have been better. NSB has a small town feel with all the great shopping, restaurants, local festivals, etc, that anyone could want. Lastly, the Tradewinds complex is beautiful with a staff that keeps everything spotless and enjoyable.

Getting Away from the cold

Had a wonderful time staying at this condo in Tradewinds at New Smyrna Beach. The unit was clean and was well maintained along with everything you would need. Towels, linens, beach towels, beach chairs and all the spices you would ever want for preparing meals.

The club house, pool and the condo area was beautiful.

The reserved parking spot and unit was so close to the elevator.

The owner was fantastic to work with. We would love to stay at this unit again.

Family Vacation

The weather was perfect. The condo was absolutely beautiful.

Each morning we would watch the waves rolling in from the balcony, and every night we could watch the sunset. What a wonderful, relaxing atmosphere to surround ourselves in!

We did not want to leave.

Highly recommended. We will definitely be coming back in the near future.
