The Owner purchased this condo in 2010
Arizona is a beautiful, diverse state with the Grand Canyon to the north and Kartchner Caverns to the south, both within a few hours from home.
The condo is in a pleasant complex, very quiet. It is also close to so much of what I enjoy - great food, art galleries, golf, sports, hiking and shopping. Add to that the fabulous weather & it's like a year round vacation at home!
Mountains and amazing desert landscapes surround Scottsdale and the sunsets are so incredible your friends won't believe your photos!
Scottsdale is a wonderful city with terrific weather and tons of things to do from golf to shopping to spring training to great restaurants and nightclubs, pro sports and museums.
My husband and I stayed in this condo for the entire month of January 2016. The condo was as described and the previous reviews are spot on. What was not mentioned previously is that the condo was spotless and very comfortable. Elloise provided helpful suggestions for area restaurants, sites, etc. We liked it so much we plan to return.
We spent the month of February in this nicely furnished unit. The condo community was very quiet and the people, friendly. It was a bit of a disappointment that we could not swim in the unheated pool, but there were many places to visit and sights to see, all within driving distance. Old Town Scottsdale is abundant with small art museums, shops, and restaurants. The owner provided some excellent recommendations.
We just finished our 13 day trip to the Valley of the Sun. Our Scottsdale townhome was perfect. Nicely furnished, quiet and close to freeway's and activities. The owner provided complete details of how things in the house worked so we didn't have to spend time trying to figure them out. We had a wonderful holiday.
We arrived in December and found the place to be totally ready, very clean and much nicer than the photos indicated. The weather was high 70s and low 80s - so, a perfect start to our Winter in Scottsdale. All of the electronics for entertainment are there and WiFi was available.
This was our first time visiting Arizona and Scottsdale and we found that the area offered lots of variety of things to do. Old Town, galleries, museums, shopping, casinos, heritage sites - you name it, it was there. We are not avid hikers, so didn't participate in what is probably Arizona's number one activity, but there are loads of parks nearby for walking.. We travelled to Yuma and also to Sedona. We'll hit Tucson and areas next trip.
Grocery stores are close and the shopping malls are a short drive. There is a fabulous swap market in Mesa that is so huge, it took us three different visits to get through it and it offers a great array of merchandise and makes for a fun day. The night life offers a great choice of entertainment and the restaurants and pubs give you a choice of fabulous fare. In Chandler, we even found a great dim sum restaurant - something usually not readily available in South-Western desert states. The best pizza, ever, is within walking distance (Sal's Side Door).
The patio is very private and the pool area is seldom used, so finding a chaise lounge for sun tanning was easy. Unfortunately the pool is not heated and was too cold to swim in, even for us hardy Canadian snowbirds (that's why we're snowbirds). Locals told us that hardly anyone heats their pool in Winter unless it is at an expensive resort. The Jacuzzi was very inviting, though.
There is a great choice of golf courses - small, inexpensive ones for the duffer and really great challenging courses for the wannabe PGA pro.
Perhaps the best experience we had staying at the 'home of the fountains' is it is partly occupied by local working young people who are friendly and make you feel that you are part of their community.
We recommend La Casa de Fuente to seniors, small families and anyone who enjoys the dry, sunny Arizona weather with its well-known South-Western hospitality. We loved it for four months.
We enjoyed La Casa De Fuente very much---everything was as described and well maintained and clean. The patio was lovely and a great place to enjoy being outdoors. The pool was well maintained and large with a lot of relaxing areas. The condo is close to services and the freeway. We found it very easy to find locations in the area and to take day trips. It was a perfect vacation for us!
Close to the Desert Botanical Garden, Zoo, Heard Museum (world famous for Native American Art), Baseball Spring Training, Barrett Jackson Auto Auction, Arabian Horse Show, walking/biking paths, mountain hiking, reservoirs for boating, Day Spas, several Casinos, lots of golf courses and Old Town with shopping, restaurants, nightclubs, movies, beer pubs, wine bars.
