About Anne Caldera
[History of the House] In June of 1922, Mr. Frank Meyer of Walpole, Mass., purchased two lot in Falmouth Heights, at some time after that he built the house which now stands at 24 Forest Ave. Mrs. Meyer told me that, “Mr. Meyer” (as she always referred to her husband) built this house for me. Mrs. Georgia Meyer and her two daughters Helen and Barbara would come to Falmouth Heights every spring and stay through the summer. During the peak of the tourist season when Falmouth Heights was at is busiest and the Terrace Gables was the place to go, Mrs. Meyer would rent out rooms in the house and she and her daughters would sleep in the then enclosed porch, which is now the bathroom and back porch. The “ROOMS” sign that she would place on the front lawn now adorns the stairway in the living room. In later years Mrs. Meyer came every spring and would stay into late September. We purchased “The Meyer House” in September of 1992, at the time Mrs. Meyer was 101, and she lived to be 103. Through the next year renovations and upgraded such as complete rewiring, the addition of running Hot Water, an indoor shower and a total kitchen makeover took place and the house had its first summer guests in June of 1994. Over the years we have continued to add, upgrade and modify the house but all the while keeping the original Cape Cod Cottage charm.

Well-maintained older house in perfect location
This older house was perfect for our recent Falmouth visit. We enjoyed the front porch a great deal, and were able to enjoy our messy lobsters from Stop & Shop on the outdoor covered picnic tables out back. All of the 4 upstairs bedrooms have ceiling fans that are easy to operate. The owners were very nice & easy to work with. We would definitely stay here again! - LF
The perfect place
Our perfect family vacation started here. We wanted our relatives from Italy to have a real Cape Cod experience - and we all did! We loved the classic Cape Cod style cottage that was clean, well kept and nicely decorated. It is close to the beach, and has all the necessary amenities. The cottage has a delightful front porch to enjoy coffee on in the morning, cocktails on in the evening or to just sit and relax and feel the pleasant evening sea breezes. The back porch was wonderful for enjoying lobsters and cookouts almost every lunch and evening.
This cottage is a close walk to the Falmouth Heights Beach, restaurants, Falmouth Harbor and the Island Queen - for a quick trip to Marthas Vineyard and just a short drive to the town. The lovely large yard was an added bonus for the kids.
The owners were welcoming and happy to answer any questions and responded instantly to anything we asked.
We are looking forward to coming back this summer.
We loved the house. 4 adults - my wife and I and 18 year old twins. Downstairs had plenty of room for everything. Living room, dining room, good size kitchen, full bath and a great porch with chairs. Upstairs, 4 bedrooms. Two with queen beds were a little small but not small enough to make a difference. Other 2 rooms each had 2 twin beds and were roomier. Well equipped kitchen with full sized washer/dryer combo in it. Gas grill out back with a picnic table under a roof. Very convenient to Island Queen ferry to Martha's Vineyard and close to several outstanding restaurants in Falmouth. Owners were fantastic. Fresh flowers on the table and in the bathrooms (they were in season) and owners were readily available to answer any questions. When we go back to Martha's Vineyard, we will stay there again.
Great location, well matained, clean.
Loved the location in regards to the beach. Nice set up for any family. Outdoor shower was perfect for coming back from the beach. It was clean with plenty of room in the lower main part of the house.
The only minor issue was the Bedrooms upstairs were small and some of the mattresses could use replacing. Also tough navigating the stairs to the bedrooms. I had my in-laws down for a few days who are older, and it was tough for them to use the narrow steep stairs up and down. We had a great experience overall. Loved siting out on the porch at night sipping wine and reading a book. I would recommend renting this place and will probably look to rent it again if my kids get into the Falmouth road race next year.
In the Spring of 2016, we purchased a new Queen sized bed replacing one of the full sized beds and a new mattress was purchased to replace the other full sized bed.
There's a 5 mile bicycle path to the village of Woods Hole which begins in the center of town. Falmouth village has quaint restaurants, gift shops, golf courses, tennis courts, and a huge library. Walk to basketball court, baseball/softball fields, soccer fields. There is an aquarium at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute in Woods Hole.
