About Carole Musaracchia & Beverly Balbirsingh

Hi! We are Beverly and Carole, who are the owners at 823. We live on the first and second floors of our home. We welcome you to a comfortable stay in our studio apartment

Carole Musaracchia & Beverly Balbirsingh purchased this studio in 2005

Why Carole Musaracchia & Beverly Balbirsingh chose Brooklyn

Our home is situated in an up and coming section of Bed Sty. It is a 10 minute car drive to both the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges. We enjoy the conveniences to activities in and around Brooklyn and Manhattan. We like the vibe of the neighborhood and the diverse population.

What makes this studio unique

We fell in love with this house because of the backyard space. We created a private space in our back yard to enjoy when we need to unwind. It makes us feel like we are in the country in the city. We like to entertain and having friends and family over to enjoy the space with us.

Wonderful stay!

  • 5 of 5

We had the most amazing time at Carole and Beverley's apartment in Brooklyn. Easily accommodating our late check in and check out (which was hugely useful due to a late flight!) plus much needed snacks on arrival - we felt comfortable immediately and every bit at home in the apartment throughout the week. The location is great, cool restaurants and only

30 mins to Williamsburg and about 40 mins Manhattan. We split our time between Brooklyn and the city which was perfect and Carole kindly explained the bus system which was invaluable for our stay. The amenities are great, the apartment spotless and the bed is so comfortable!! We would recommend the place to anyone and will be back next time we visit. Thanks again, Gemma and Nick x

Perfect place in a great neighborhood close to everything you need

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time. The home was great, had everything we needed. Our hosts were great as well. 0 complaints. All major subways are a short bus ride away and you can be just about anywhere in the city in less than an hour, many place in less than 45 minutes. Great stay.

1st Class Accommodation

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at this Brooklyn apartment.

From the moment we arrived Carole made us feel very welcome and even laid on some much appreciated extras such as sodas and snacks,a very thoughtful touch.

The apartment was bright, fresh, secure and spacious enough for four of us(with kids aged 15 & 11) to be very comfortable.

The bus stop is right on your doorstep and the B38 bus takes 20 mins to drop you within steps of several metro stations and the rest of the Big Apple is at your fingertips.

We actually enjoyed our daily bus commutes as it allowed a wee look into everyday Brooklyn livestyles. Also never felt unsafe even when travelling in the early hours of the morning, although you will encounter a few interesting characters.

Overall we loved it here,so another big thank you to Carole and Beverley for allowing us to use their great apartment.

Owner's Response: Hello Family! Thank you so much for the fantastic review. Also for letting folks know that you felt safe traveling with your family late at night. The train station and the bus stop downtown Brooklyn usually has a lot of people around because it is a major hub of attractions and transportation and shopping in Brooklyn. That is the Fulton Street and Flatbush Avenue area. There are a lot of new buildings with shops and residences going up right now so it s going to be even more populated! Brooklyn is hot!!! Lots of new things happening. Thanks for staying with us, please come back anytime.

Fantastic visit! Wunderbarer Besuch!

  • 5 of 5

Carole and Beverly were so friendly, helpful and responsive whenever called upon and made us feel completely at home. They helped us understand how the bus and subway system works, as well as helping with booking the transportation to and from the local airports.

The apartment is beautifully stocked and tastefully decorated. We wanted for nothing – all amenities were already provided. The location provides a wonderfully eclectic immersion into Brooklyn, easy access to public transportation to downtown Brooklyn as well as several options to get into Manhattan. It takes approximately 40-55 minutes to get into Manhattan – this is the only drawback, if Manhattan is your only goal, which would be sad as Brooklyn is also worth experiencing. There are places to eat and food shopping within a five minutes’ walk.

I cannot recommend this vacation rental higher.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for the english and German review. We LOVE our German guests! Thank you for writing such a great review. It helps our future guests in knowing we are helpful and will always at least have soda and water, coffee and tea and snacks for them in case they arrive late, there will always be a snack!! Yes there is so much to see and do in Brooklyn as well as NYC. And Brooklyn has the best views of Manhattan. Brooklyn is so great, they named a bridge after it! LOL! Please come back and stay with us anytime you are planning to visit NY. Thanks again

We are located in Brooklyn in historic Bedford Stuyvesant. Our home is right on DeKalb Avenue just steps away from the B38 bus to Downtown Brooklyn. It's a ten minute bus ride to a strip of fantastic restaurants, Fort Greene Park, the Barclay Center, home of the Brooklyn Nets and the venue for concerts and BAM. Take a stroll through Pratt Institute's Sculpture Garden which is only 7 minutes away by bus. Have a slice of Juniors famous cheesecake only 15 minutes away by bus, before you connect to the B,Q, N or R train to New York City right on the corner of Juniors. Stroll through the mall near Barclay Center where you will find stores such as Target, Marshalls, Uniqlo and DSW. Or explore the newly reorganized and rapidly changing Fulton Mall near Juniors in which you will find Macys, Aeropostale, Aldo, American Apparel, Armani Exchange, Banana Republic,Brooklyn Industries to name a few. We are very close to the Brooklyn Museum, the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, beautiful Brooklyn Bridge Park where you will find the most spectacular views of NYC between 2 bridges. Brooklyn Bridge Park offers free outdoor movies in the summer with the NYC skyline as a backdrop, Beach Volleyball courts, Kayacking,

and the famous Janes Carousel where, for 2 dollars, young or old, you will enjoy this. There are fun parks within the park for children and a scenic bike path. Food festivals are a regular attraction at this park. Citibikes are available a few blocks from us, where you can rent a bike and use the bike lanes made available, we will supply maps. Prospect Park is also nearby Grand Army Plaza and the Brooklyn Public Library and the Brooklyn Museum and the Zoo. A large green market takes place during the summer at the edge of Prospect Park and also every Saturday at Fort Greene Park. Many farmers from upstate New York attend these markets as well as every Wednesday near Union Square Manhattan, a short ride on the D train.

There are a number of public parks and a public pool (Kosciuszko Pool) which is 3 blocks from our house. There is so much to do in Brooklyn, so many restaurants and bars near our home and in the nearby Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. We are centrally located and a very easy commute to all attractions.

You will have a great time and we will help you navigate your way around town. We are gay friendly and straight friendly. Family with children welcome!
