Nestled away in the heart of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, visitors to Sparwood, B.C., can escape to this luxurious newly built log cabin which, with its 25ft vaulted ceiling, fir beams, large stone fireplace, and all the luxuries of a modern residence makes this the perfect combination of a traditional rustic log cabin and a fully-functional modern residence.
The cabin is large, spacious and bright. With its floor to ceiling windows, gives visitors to Sparwood the most breathtaking views of B.C.’s treasured snow-laden mountain peaks and valleys. The cabin boasts five bedrooms and is perfect for hosting large groups of friends or families.
The cabin is minutes away by foot from tobogganing hills, cross country skiing and snowshoeing trails. Also located in Sparwood is a Family Leisure Center with a hot tub and pool.
A scenic, 20 minute drive south takes you to the Fernie Alpine Resort, rated 5th in North America. Aside from skiing, the town of Fernie boasts a number of other fun and exciting things to do… night life, restaurants, and a family fitness centre which includes a hot tub, steam room and waterslides.
Also great for outdoor enthusiast, great for hiking, fishing and hunting. One of the best ares for Elk hunting and world class fly fishing!!

This large, lovely home was exactly what we were hoping for. We were meeting family in Sparwood for a reunion. The house is on a quiet street, with ample parking. The five bedrooms and four baths were comfortable and roomy. The kitchen was very well stocked with equipment. We made good use of the supply of firewood, and had oodles of room to spread out in the three separate living spaces. Thanks for helping us to enjoy our weekend!
This is the second time we've stayed in this home and we just love it. We drive up from Los Angeles to fly fish the beautiful Canadian rivers. The house is large and the family dining area is great for evening meals and sharing fishing tales each evening.jouse was clean and had everything we needed in terms of linens and soap laundry facilities ETC.
I hope we're fortunate enough to continue to come to BC and stay here for years to come.
We had a family wedding to attend in Sparwood, and this house was perfect for our larger group (8 people). It was very spacious and comfortable, and was well-stocked with dishes/kitchen utensils/towels, etc. Lots of room to park multiple vehicles. Nice quiet neighbourhood. Mike & Charmaine were very easy to deal with and were always quick to respond to messages.
The house is very spacious, clean, and well furnished, and it's a nice touch to provide fire wood during the winter months! It is a close walk to really nice cross-country ski trails, we saw deer out the back window, and there is a free indoor skating rink about 10 minutes drive from the house as well as an excellent indoor activity pool for families for a small fee.
My main reason for not giving it 5 stars are that it is not as close to the Fernie Alpine Resort as described. Even on the clearest day, driving 100 km/h (above the speed limit!) on a dry road, it took 28 minutes door to door to get to the hill (so not 20 minutes), and on the days when it was snowing, it took up to 35 minutes as cars were naturally going no more than 70 km/h. We didn't mind this too much because we enjoyed the quiet of Sparwood, but if you expect a 20 minute drive it's not going to happen!
Altogether a very nice place with loads of space, I recommend it if you don't want to be in the Fernie town centre.
perfect place for the 8 of us to get away and relax. Every couple had a queen sized bed. the only disappointment was that the deck is on the side of the house and not facing the open space to the back of the house but really just a minor detail which didn't detract from our stay. would recommend it to friends.
A perfect place for a family get together or a largish group gathering. We were 9 with 6 adults and 3 kids aged 10-13 and it worked perfectly for us. While we didn't spend a lot of time in the house, the kids thoroughly enjoyed having 3 floors in which to burn off any excess energy. The house description is accurate and speaks for itself. It is equipped as described so you could arrive with nothing but food and make out very well. As for location, we did day trips to Waterton (about 2 hours one way) as well as into the West Castle area SW of Pincher Creek, the Crowsnest Pass and around the SE Kootenays. Endless places to hike, fish and sight see within an hour or two. A great place to stay!
