East Fork Cottage at East Fork Farm

Bedrooms 1
Space 1,000 sq. ft.
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Cottage, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2)

Imagine getting up in the morning, putting on a sweater, and taking your steaming mug of coffee out to the patio to overlook the crisp and verdant beauty of a quiet farm in the mountains of Western North Carolina. This is your chance to slow down, unwind, and reconnect with the one you love! East Fork Cottage is a pristine cottage that overlooks East Fork Farm.

The farm is located near Marshall, an effortlessly friendly small town perched on the edge of the French Broad River. Go for a hike in the nearby Pisgah National Forest, or explore Asheville, a storied and beautiful city known as the 'Paris of the South' half an hour away, or just stay in, and enjoy the cottage decorated with local artisan crafts and hand-made pottery.

In the evening, gaze up at the perfect quiet stars as you soak in the aromatic Japanese Ofuru cedar hot tub. When you're ready for bed, let the crickets and the frogs lull you to sleep, knowing you can do it all again the next day. Enjoy the solitude and peace that's been absent from your busy life at East Fork Cottage!

About Dawn Robertson

Stephen and Dawn moved to Madison County in 1996 in hopes of starting a farm and family and becoming self sustainable. We have been farming for 20 years and are now branching out to the public by selling our farm products at local tailgate markets. Our latest venture on the farm has been to open our farm to visitors through our vacation rentals and the support has been amazing.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Our group of 9 adults thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing weekend away from young children, work, etc. We were amazed at the simple details of your farm and cottages that add up to create this perfect place you call home. Thank you for sharing it with others! We will be back - maybe with our children! We loved our stay!

TOP NOTCH, kind owners and wonderful facility. A little Shangri-La in North Western North Carolina

  • 5 of 5

I've used VRBO for a good number of rentals including Paris, Barcelona, Madrid, London and several other US locations on the Coastal / Eastern NC. I have to say, East Fork Farm is a FABULOUS respite from the world. A "foodie" paradise with well-equiped kitchen, beautiful surroundings in a peaceful, pastoral setting.

Dawn is top-notch, friendly and responsive. The place is well-kept, clean and perfectly. Private, with high-speed internet and Dish TV. Phone coverage is spotty. . .but they even have that covered with a cell phone at the location for use. Beds are extremely comfortable. And as someone with terrible allergies, I had nary a trouble during my 1/2 week stay.

I HIGHLY recommend East Fork Farm and cannot say enough good things about my stay there.

Ask Dawn about purchasing their farm eggs, rabbit, chicken and fresh lamb. Gracious goodness, a dream come true for anyone wanting to do some fishing, relaxing with family and eating farm to table food!

Great cottage in a beautiful setting

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had a wonderful time here. The drive in and grounds were so beautiful we kept joking that it felt like we were in a movie. The owners have really created a special place here with a nice attention to detail. Definitely would stay here again!

wonderful accomodations in Madison County

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at the farm on a business trip to the area. The cottage was decorated and furnished with so much care and detail. Everything was first rate- from the bed linens to the handmade pottery dishes, to the views out the large windows to the sheep grazing and bleeting on the hillside. I think back to this stay often want this lifestyle to be mine! Highly recommend to all travelers and vacationers.

A Woderful Stay

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I brought our 3 and 6yo to North Carolina for some snow, but ran into unseasonably warm weather. We picked out this location due to the farm setting, and we could not have been more pleased. I called and talked to Stephen prior to booking, he could not have been more pleasant. We requested some foods in the fridge since we were coming in late and did not want to get up and have to get up and go find breakfast food. He was able to find some fantastic bacon, Dawn(his wife) baked a fresh loaf of bread, which we devoured, and we were treated to some fresh eggs and sausage from his farm. The cabin was beautiful, extremely clean, comfortable and close enough to the farm to walk or far enough away not to worry about it. The kitchen was beautiful and easy to use. The hot tub was extremely clean and comfortable and the setting was relaxing. My 3yo said his favorite part of the farm was the baby lambs, and my 6yo said her was hunting for salamanders in the stream. If your looking to get away and live a little more relaxing stay with extremely good local foods, this is your place. I would highly recommend East Fork to any and all my friends with and without children. And yes we did get a little snow about 25 minutes to Wolf Ridge and they went skiing and loved it. P.S. Dawn and Stephen are 2 of the most kind and caring people you'll ever meet. Thank You For a wonderful stay.
