Walk to the Plaza and sleep at "home"

Bedrooms 2
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 30 nights

About the property

Cottage, 2 Bedrooms and 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4)

Our little home in Healdsburg is ideal for people wanting to get away from the cold winters or hot summers in other locales. It's ideal for couples who want to have friends come and visit them in wine country, and close enough to downtown for you and your guests walk to dinner and shops, but a few blocks away, so that you can relax and feel at home.

If you live in San Francisco, or the Bay Area, our home is ideal for telecommuters, and while we can only rent the home out for 30 days or longer, why not take advantage of that and come up on weekends for a few weeks out of the month, and enjoy the best of both worlds?

This delightful cottage, built in 1897, is located on a historic Healdsburg street. The open floor plan features a beautiful full kitchen, room for dining and relaxing. However, you probably won't have time to enjoy these fine features, because it's walking distance to the plaza, wonderful restaurants, shops, and of course, tasting rooms. The home features two bedrooms, each with a queen size bed, and two full size bathrooms. Each bedroom opens onto the back deck, which overlooks a lawn and a large, private backyard. There is an arbor, with comfortable seating, for you to relax after your day touring the many wineries in the Dry Creek and Alexander Valley areas.

What makes this cottage unique

It's a short walk to the plaza, where many local vineyards have tasting rooms. Enjoy the fine restaurants, many of which feature fresh produce from local farms. Or enjoy cooking for yourself after a visit to the local farmer's market, each Saturday morning, just a block from the plaza.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Your house was really cool... Well located in Healdsburg, close to the square and the shops, it is a great place for an adult vacation.

Great location! And extremely well appointed and comfortable!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great month staying in this house! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook in - or if we didn't want to - we could just walk into town and pick from a big assortment of great restauants. Lots of outdoor patios at the house to hang out in - including a great barbecue grill right off the dining room! The location of the house is a short walk to town which was perfect after venturing out to a few wineries of the 400 plus wineries in the area! The owners -Katie and Mark - were a pleasure to rent from! I will definitely be back!!!!!!

Helpful lovely owners, delightful place

  • 5 of 5

Katie and Mark's home-away-from-home is all one could wish for: smartly designed, well-equipped for extended stays, comfy beds, spotless, within walking distance of downtown and a center point for a range of walks around town, and happy seating spots outside (when it's not raining—but they need the rain).

They are also very patient and responsive to requests for help, whether refilling the gas grill or sending back a startling number of clothing items left behind in a classic slip of the mind.

While we've only seen it in the spring, I'm guessing it would be a great place to stay anytime of the year, since both the inside and the outside are so pleasant and amenable to sitting, reading, talking, eating, and generally enjoying northern California.

Healdsburg hideaway

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I just spent a month at Katie and Mark's cottage in Healdsburg. What a wonderful time we experienced !!. The cottage has been totally updated to modern standards and is well equipped , In addition we went long stretches of time without even moving our vehicle from the driveway. Only a couple of blocks from downtown and we walked everywhere...Katie was tremendous to deal with and we plan on returning.. Highly recommend this rental. Healdsburg has everything you need.....Greg and Joyce

Healdsburg Cottage

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had a great time in lovely Healdsburg and this cottage was the perfect home away from home. It was a short walk to town and the cottage included all the amenities one could need. I have to say that I wanted to bring my pillow but this cottage was well equipped with many choices in pillows and the beds were extremely comfortable. The porch allowed us to enjoy the weather and the neighborhood along with one if many of the local wines. There was ample dining space both inside and out. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The best one month getaway ever for us.

  • 5 of 5

We live rurally, so parking ourselves in a "town" is special for us……particularly this town. Healdsburg is small, quaint, and friendly but has everything a vacationer could want….great weather, a busy plaza a short walk away, great cuisine, affordable nearby golf courses, the gorgeous Pacific a brief drive west, and of course, the wine country experience in spades! The cottage was spacious, clean and amply spacious and our landlord was lovely. It really can't get any better than this!

Healdsburg Gem!

  • 5 of 5

This was our third, but certainly not our last stay at this wonderful and beautifully remodeled home. About a half-mile to Healdsburg Square with great shops and restaurants, and close to numerous restaurants. The Coppola Winery and Museum is fabulous. Geyserville, five miles north is charming with good restaurants. Don't pass up this lovely, well-maintained convenient home with wonderful owners.
