About the property

Spacious 3BR/2BA Condominium With Ocean And Mountain Views

Our spacious, airy, cathedral-ceilinged condo is centrally located in the town of Kihei, in sunny South Maui. It's in a great location, 200 yards to Kamaole I Beach Park, and within walking distance of many activities and restaurants. A rental car is not necessary, but by all means get one if you want to explore farther afield.

PLEASE NOTE: Our condo is NOT wheelchair accessible, and access may be difficult for anyone with mobility limitations. There is an elevator to the fourth floor, but you also must climb a flight of 9 steps to get to the elevator, plus 3 sets of 6 steps (a total of 27 steps, divided over 4 stairways) to get to our front door, because of the unique way the complex is terraced up a hillside. Once inside our condo, the only stairs are from the great room to the loft.

The condo is a roomy 1145 sq. ft, plus two lanais with ocean and mountain views. The large main lanai opens from the great room (living room/ kitchen/ loft); it has a dining table and seating for eight people. The second, secluded lanai opens from the master bedroom.

There are two private bedrooms. Each has air conditioning, ceiling fan, king size bed, large window, and large closet. The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom, and the second bedroom is next to the hall bathroom. The third bedroom is an open loft over the great room (living room and kitchen). It has air conditioning, a full-height ceiling, a full size bed, a twin-over-twin trundle bed, and a flat-screen LCD TV. It is accessed via a straight flight of 12 carpeted stairs. The living room also has a queen size sleeper sofa.

There are two recently-remodeled full bathrooms with granite counters and travertine marble tiles. One bathroom is en suite to the master bedroom, with a large vanity and separate room with toilet and double-size shower stall. The second bathroom is in the hall adjacent to the second bedroom, and includes a full tub/shower combo.

There is air conditioning in each bedroom and the great room/loft; a well-equipped kitchen; full size clothes washer and dryer in the unit; all bedding/linens, bath and beach towels; free, secure Wi-Fi internet; three flat-panel TV's with cable; three iPod dock/radios; and a home phone with unlimited calling to the US, Canada, Mexico, and US territories (Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, Northern Marianas/Guam, American Samoa).

The grounds include a pool, hot tub, sauna, two tennis courts, two gas grill-equipped BBQ areas with picnic tables, lush landscaping, and free parking.

The complex does not allow pets.

Our condo unit is completely non-smoking, including the lanais. In the condo complex, all of the common areas/public areas are non-smoking, except for two designated smoking benches, one in each parking lot.

The condo association enforces 'quiet hours' between 10 PM and 8 AM, which makes for very peaceful evenings - a good thing, since there are so many available daytime activities, you'll want to be well-rested!

The location is great, the complex is well-maintained, the view is phenomenal, the neighbors are nice, and the spacious and airy feel of the condo is unique. The fact that it has two lanais, and the main one is much larger than the usual, is a bonus.

Completely satisfied!

Walk to beach, shops! The condo is beautiful, clean and every amenity needed! Every Kitchen item you'd ever need! We grilled one night and had dinner for 6 on the Lanai with plenty of room.

The fully stocked beach gear closet was a gold mine! Tommy Bahama folding beach chairs and a rolling cart to haul it all. Umbrella and towels too!

We had a great time and would like to return someday!

Great location, just too many stairs , despite elevator access

Wonderful apartment in close access to the beach. Owners are very friendly. The apt was huge and had every amenity we could have wanted. Easy code access once you unlocked and never really needed to use a key again until we left. We found the stairs leading up in levels from the elevator a real pain with little kids. I would imagine it would pose a similar problem with older ppl. The apt is very privately situated which meant we never had to deal with noise, even at the pool . And its front door overlooks the pool. Building manager is very grumpy which was really our only downer as we had a Suburban and simply got a notice on the back of a cardboard box on our window in the front parking lot to state: "Move immediately! Park in upper parking lot." ( we had a hanger that allowed us to park there ) . That was a pain as all our beach stuff was in the back of the car and we had to make the journey to the upper parking which was a ways up to go to the beach/ snorkeling as we did not want to bring sand into the apt. If you want size, this is really a lovely place and well worth the money. One of the apts on the way down the many levels of stairs to the elevators had marijuana smokers in it, which was really stinky, but we would probably rent there again in a heartbeat , just because we loved the privacy and space .

Perfect Penthouse

The property is in an extremely well kept condo complex. The unit itself is immaculate and modern, with a few out to the ocean on one side, and across the pool on the other. It is stocked with everything you will need for a week of fun in paradise, including all pots, pans, cups, glasses & silverware, plus beach gear such as beach cart, towels, boogie boards and sand toys. The owner, Joy, is very professional and personable and super quick to respond to any questions you might have.

The location is near perfect -- you can be at the beach in about 5 minutes of walking, and along the way you'll pass a few decent (and cheap!) restaurants, a snorkel/surf rental place, café, shaved-ice shop, and then there's even more just around the corner in the next plaza.

The beach in Kihei experiences somewhat variable conditions, so do check in with the lifeguard, especially if the orange flags are up. On a good day the beach is near perfect, but the surf can get challenging so you might consider going elsewhere on those days. The sunsets look just as good from the little park next to the beach, though, or just enjoy them from the lanai with a cold beverage in hand.

All in all, this property greatly exceeded our expectations and left us all smiling for the whole week.

Note: You must climb a number of stairs to get to the unit so double-check if you have mobility issues, but my 70+ year old parents were able to navigate them without issue.

Beautiful condo in the perfect location!!

We had the best stay at Joy's incredible condo in the heart of Kihei. The condo was open and spacious with enough comfortable beds and extra sleeping arrangements to accommodate our large group. It was equipped with everything you could need for cooking AND going to the beach (sunscreen, towels, toys, chairs, goggles and masks, etc.). Walking distance to a great natural foods grocery store, heaps of restaurants, and the beach - and incredibly reasonable! Joy was such a fabulous host - kind, helpful, quick responder, and extremely accommodating. I would HIGHLY recommend staying here if you're looking to have a great time in Maui. Thanks again, Joy!

Walk to beautiful Kamaole I ('Kam I') beach, just at the end of the condo complex driveway. It's a golden sand beach that usually has gentle waves, especially in the mornings before the afternoon trade winds; it's great for swimming and snorkeling, or try stand-up-paddling (SUP) or surfing. Go scuba diving in the calm waters inside Molokini Crater or the wilder waters on its back wall; you'll spot sea turtles and many fish that are endemic to Hawaii. Watch the sunrise atop Mt. Haleakala, then bicycle downhill with a local tour operator. Drive the Heavenly Road to Hana with its famous waterfalls and one-lane bridges. Go shopping in Kihei or the nearby towns of Wailea, Paia, Makawao or Lahaina. Take in a luau. Go on a winery tour and sample the sweet local pineapple wine. Visit the Sugar Museum, O'o Farm, Surfing Goat Dairy, or the lavender farm. See Iao Valley and its famous Needle. Go zip-lining. Maybe even just relax in the pool or hot tub - you will never run out of things to do! And after you've watched the sun set from your lanai or from Kam I beach, walk to numerous restaurants and bars for a well-earned dinner and a cool libation.
