Spacious 3BR/2BA Condominium With Ocean And Mountain Views

Our spacious, airy, cathedral-ceilinged condo is centrally located in the town of Kihei, in sunny South Maui. It's in a great location, 200 yards to Kamaole I Beach Park, and within walking distance of many activities and restaurants. A rental car is not necessary, but by all means get one if you want to explore farther afield.

PLEASE NOTE: Our condo is NOT wheelchair accessible, and access may be difficult for anyone with mobility limitations. There is an elevator to the fourth floor, but you also must climb a flight of 9 steps to get to the elevator, plus 3 sets of 6 steps (a total of 27 steps, divided over 4 stairways) to get to our front door, because of the unique way the complex is terraced up a hillside. Once inside our condo, the only stairs are from the great room to the loft.

The condo is a roomy 1145 sq. ft, plus two lanais with ocean and mountain views. The large main lanai opens from the great room (living room/ kitchen/ loft); it has a dining table and seating for eight people. The second, secluded lanai opens from the master bedroom.

There are two private bedrooms. Each has air conditioning, ceiling fan, king size bed, large window, and large closet. The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom, and the second bedroom is next to the hall bathroom. The third bedroom is an open loft over the great room (living room and kitchen). It has air conditioning, a full-height ceiling, a full size bed, a twin-over-twin trundle bed, and a flat-screen LCD TV. It is accessed via a straight flight of 12 carpeted stairs. The living room also has a queen size sleeper sofa.

There are two recently-remodeled full bathrooms with granite counters and travertine marble tiles. One bathroom is en suite to the master bedroom, with a large vanity and separate room with toilet and double-size shower stall. The second bathroom is in the hall adjacent to the second bedroom, and includes a full tub/shower combo.

There is air conditioning in each bedroom and the great room/loft; a well-equipped kitchen; full size clothes washer and dryer in the unit; all bedding/linens, bath and beach towels; free, secure Wi-Fi internet; three flat-panel TV's with cable; three iPod dock/radios; and a home phone with unlimited calling to the US, Canada, Mexico, and US territories (Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, Northern Marianas/Guam, American Samoa).

The grounds include a pool, hot tub, sauna, two tennis courts, two gas grill-equipped BBQ areas with picnic tables, lush landscaping, and free parking.

The complex does not allow pets.

Our condo unit is completely non-smoking, including the lanais. In the condo complex, all of the common areas/public areas are non-smoking, except for two designated smoking benches, one in each parking lot.

The condo association enforces 'quiet hours' between 10 PM and 8 AM, which makes for very peaceful evenings - a good thing, since there are so many available daytime activities, you'll want to be well-rested!

We loved it. Joy was excellent and there were plenty of beach accessories

The place was great This is our favorite area on Maui where the beach is right there and you can walk to everything. The kitchen was well equipped and the unit was clean and well organized. The only catch is this unit is a long way from the elevator and if you are bringing in your Costco haul for a long stay it’s a bit of work. We found out after the fact that you can park in the no parking zone by the pool to unload

We had a wonderful time here!

This condo was absolutely perfect for our family! We were so comfortable. It felt just like home. It has everything you can think of...chairs, ocean toys, beach towels..etc.. The view is just beautiful. The beach was very close and we walked to it multiple times a day. There's also a great running path close by along the ocean. Joy is a wonderful person to talk to! We really hope to stay here again. Thank you so so much! Also, we were able to take our left over food to St. Theresa's in Kihei on our way to the airport. Super easy.

Wonderful view from the lanai! Appreciated the pool and hot tub - just wished it was open until 10 pm instead of 9 pm. Owner was wonderful to work with!

Maika’i Kahi

Maika’i kahi is Hawaiian for “good place” and accurately describes this Kihei AliI Kai condo. The location is excellent with just a one block walk to Kama’ole I beach. Just a half block away is a great bakery, coffee shop and other eateries and two blocks to an ABC or Whalers General Store and others. This condo is set up well for vacation stays and the entire complex is extremely well maintained. We had good room for the adults staying here and enjoyed entertaining friends staying in the same complex. We have stayed in other condo complexes and this location is the best. Joy, the owner was very responsive and helpful. There were some nice welcoming surprises when we arrived and the unit was very well stocked. The beach stroller to carry our gear was the best! As for everyone’s comments on the rooster, the wake up call is a unique Hawaiian alarm and who wants to sleep in when the mornings are perfect.

This is a very nice property and the owner has done a great job in making it comlete.

This property is the preverbal rose, beautiful and fragrant but with one thorn. The condo is located across the street from a nice beach and park, easy walk to several shops and very good restaurants. The owner has maintained a collection of outdoor gear for use on the beach and other outdoor activities. It is next to a set of stairs that are not used by many residents so there is not a lot of noise but they are convenient. The lanai is the perfect place for everything, coffee, breakfast early evening relaxing. it was very hard to leave and go anywhere else. Of course going anywhere else is very easy from this location as well.

As for the thorn the parking and stairs leave one wondering why they rented this location, but the owner is very clear about the steps and elevator location before you rent. If you have difficulty climbing stairs or standing on hard floors this is not the place for you, however it does prevent you from purchasing more than you need because you know you have to carry it up the steps. Now for full disclosure it was hard on my back so I walked slower, I would not change the view or the location so much so that we have reserved it for next year as well.

First time in Maui, and this location was perfect for my family!

From start to finish, Joy was was very pleasant to work with. She sent timely correspondence to assist us with what to expect from her beautiful and conveniently located property in Kihei. Checking in was easy with the gate code and parking wasn't an issue. The property is spacious and was able to fit our 8 guests easily. The use of the kitchen and pantry items allowed us the comforts of home without having to buy too many items. The closet with all the beach items came in handy, even the big cooler and beach chairs! It is walking distance from the beach, many restaurants, and shops in the area. And a great central location for us to visit the different parts of the island. Definitely check out Maui Bread and the shaved ice spot towards the left coming of the condo driveway. Her note and gift of coffee and mac nuts was such a great way to start our vacation! We are so happy we were able to book this property and Joy was great to work with.

Walk to beautiful Kamaole I ('Kam I') beach, just at the end of the condo complex driveway. It's a golden sand beach that usually has gentle waves, especially in the mornings before the afternoon trade winds; it's great for swimming and snorkeling, or try stand-up-paddling (SUP) or surfing. Go scuba diving in the calm waters inside Molokini Crater or the wilder waters on its back wall; you'll spot sea turtles and many fish that are endemic to Hawaii. Watch the sunrise atop Mt. Haleakala, then bicycle downhill with a local tour operator. Drive the Heavenly Road to Hana with its famous waterfalls and one-lane bridges. Go shopping in Kihei or the nearby towns of Wailea, Paia, Makawao or Lahaina. Take in a luau. Go on a winery tour and sample the sweet local pineapple wine. Visit the Sugar Museum, O'o Farm, Surfing Goat Dairy, or the lavender farm. See Iao Valley and its famous Needle. Go zip-lining. Maybe even just relax in the pool or hot tub - you will never run out of things to do! And after you've watched the sun set from your lanai or from Kam I beach, walk to numerous restaurants and bars for a well-earned dinner and a cool libation.
