Stay on the beautiful Victoria, Canada waterfront in a well-appointed apartment for less than the price of a hotel room. The historic late 19th-century Leister building has undergone a full renovation, completed in 2008. It is located near the corner of Yates and Wharf in the middle of Victoria’s thriving water front scene of museums, restaurants, and shops.

The loft has all the modern conveniences and comforts with all the old school charm for which Victoria is known. As you enter the unit you will find a fully-stocked kitchen on your right, that includes a dishwasher. The living room features the original raw brick walls and 5 foot window with views towards the Inner Harbor and mountains. The living room includes a dining area and a television with built in DVD. There is a pull out couch with double-size mattress and a chest of drawers. The bathroom features a bath with shower.

The bedroom is located above in the loft; it has a Queen size bed and full closet. There is also a washer and dryer adjacent to the loft. The units include cable television and wireless high-speed internet. The building is very secure with locked gate; accessibility is convenient to the units via an elevator. There is a pay parking lot across the street from the building, but all of the key features of Victoria are within walking distance of the unit or nearby public transit routes. You will feel at home in our Central Victoria Rentals.

Please note that this property has a cancellation fee of $250 for all bookings cancelled outside of the 24 hour grace period..

Good location but some issues

We left our review on the CanadaStays site but the listing for this property there seems to have disappeared for some reason so we'll re-post here. My wife and I spent the month of March 2017 in this condo on Yates near Wharf. First the good:

The downtown location was very convenient to restaurants, etc, and you can pretty much make do without a car (which is good as there is no free parking with the condo--a pay parking lot is across the street). The suite is in a converted heritage building with a nice locked entry courtyard. The suite itself has high ceilings with an original brick feature wall and huge window with a bit of ocean view. The bed is upstairs from everything else in a loft that overlooks the suite, which is kind of cool (though using the steps at night to go to the bathroom was a bit tricky). There's a good bike lock-up room in the basement.

Now the bad:

On arrival we found the suite not very clean. The oven and microwave had baked-on food in them, light switches had dirt smudges on them and the toilet base hadn't been wiped. We got the cleaner to do the oven but we also did our own re-clean after. There were deferred maintenance issues. We had to request a plumber to unclog both the bathroom sink and bathtub drains of long built-up hair. The dryer didn't work either so a repairman was called for that, too, and found the fan totally jammed with lint. The bathroom door didn't close properly, microwave and window handles were broken off and the walls could have used painting. The kitchen was not very well-stocked compared to other condos we've rented--we had to go out and buy a baking pan, a boiling pot for pasta, cheese grater, etc, which we left for the next tenants. We borrowed a blender to make smoothies.

I understand that with numerous vacation renters coming through a condo in short succession it must be hard to keep up on maintenance and maybe problems aren't even reported by renters but compared to other condos we've stayed at in the neighbourhood this one was a bit lacking. Still, once we'd gotten settled in it was a good base from which to explore Victoria without a car and the price was reasonable. Also, the property manager Douglas was responsive to our requests for help getting the problems sorted out.
