Why Nancy and Ryan Soderstrom chose Colorado Springs

We love historical homes and family-oriented neighborhoods. The downtown area of Colorado Springs has both! We love how eclectic and unique each of the homes are, and you're sure to meet friendly folks out on a walk or sitting on their porch. It's a great place to spend time!

What makes this cottage unique

The Monument Street cottage has a charm that is undeniable. Across the board, folks who enter the home say, 'Oh wow! This is such a huge and homey place!' We hope that each guest finds the cottage a serene and comfortable place to stay.

Guestbook comments from the manager

I spoke several times with my son while he was staying at the cottage. He told me that it was a super place and was a key to his transition from Brook Army Medical Center and succesful integration back into his home base there at Ft Carson. He was very please with the cottage and its soothing and relaxing enviornment. The cottage provided not only an outstanding property completely outfitted with what he needed but also provided him with a base that was centrally located with great access to everything from which to attend to his many needs during this critical time. I would like to add that Nancy and Ryan were super attentive to our needs during this stay and went out of their way to accommodate Joe on a very short notice and provided some special attention with no hesitation when a need arose. They are great folks to work with and I sincerely believe that they are simply "very good people".

We stayed for a week. I would like to stay for a month. The location is great with a nice park near by for dog walking. The cottage looks just like all of the pics on HomeAway. Would definitely return and plan to!!! In a very quiet neighborhood. Love it!!!

Charming Cottage!

  • 5 of 5

This charming cottage was everything we expected and hoped for during our stay. The cottage was centrally located to a variety of attractions. Nancy was extremely helpful and checked on us when we arrived to make sure everything in the cottage was ok. She also sent us information during the week regarding restarting the router if it went out because of a storm during our visit. She was helpful in answering any questions we had before our trip and answered promptly. The kitchen was well equipped and there were even cooking supplies such as flour, spices, etc. . The cottage was clean and it was nice having all the sunlight come in through all the windows. The owners are very attentive and cared about their guests and their stay.

We enjoyed our stay at the Cottage. When we walked in we felt right at home. Everything was clean and it had a great homey feeling. I was surprised to find how well the kitchen was stocked.

Thanks again Nancy and Ryan for a wonderful place to stay.

Comfortable, private, and quiet

  • 5 of 5

We only stayed a couple of nights but would be happy to return and stay longer next time. The kitchen was very well equipped with various tools, implements, spices, and--most importantly--coffee. Snacks were also provided, along with pancake mix and syrup. Although we did not use the pancake mix, it was nice to have it there so we would not necessarily have to venture out before breakfast the first morning. (There is a grocery store a little way north on Wahsatch.) Everything was very clean and in good working order. We enjoyed relaxing on the comfortable couches and watching TV in the spacious living room. We especially enjoyed the privacy--no noisy neighbors, back patio with a privacy fence, no intrusions, etc.--Soo much nicer than staying in a hotel!
