Beautiful lake house! Great swimming area directly behind home! The pontoon made the weekend even more memorable. We appreciate the hospitality & thank you for everything! Definitely would love to come back!

Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

I rented this property for four weeks and had an absolutely wonderful time. The owner, Jim, was very responsive to any issues that I had. The neighbors, most of whom I only saw on weekends, were very nice. The kitchen was very well stocked with pots and pans. The Weber Grill was very nice. We enjoyed the quiet, swimming and fishing in the lake. The pontoon boat is older and not in the best shape, but the outboard ran flawlessly and we cruised all over the lake. There is a boat towing service number on the key ring, but we never had to use it. If you are a bird watcher we saw many different birds including Bluebirds, Red Headed Woodpeckers, Osprey, Great Blue Heron, Gnatcatchers, Blue Jays, Chickadees, Titmice, Cardinals, Hummingbirds, etc... I saw an Osprey catch a fish and then sit in a Pine Tree across the cove and eat his catch. The location is close enough to town that you can get to a grocery store or restaurant in a reasonable amount of time, but not so close that you lose the secluded feel of the house. It's about a 40 minute drive, but do yourself a favor and go to the Yesterday Cafe in Greensboro, GA. The Farmview Market, just south of Madison on 441, has GA Grown meats and vegetables, and the Cafe has an eclectic but delicious menu. The Brick restaurant in Milledgeville is also very good.

Perfect place for our family vacation! LOVED the porch!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

We do not live far from Lake Sinclair, and we normally go to the beach for our family vacations. The beach just wasn't working out for all of our family to be together this year. We decided to book a vacation rental not far away, so that everyone could be together. Great idea!!!! We LOVED our vacation, mostly because of the location on the lake(in a private cove) and because of the LARGE porch!!! We practically LIVED on that porch!!! The owners were very accessible to our needs. The power went out one night in a large section of the area where we were staying. I sent a text message to Steve, and we heard back from him immediately. He immediately contacted GA Power and continued to text message me until the power was restored.

The pictures of the property are good, but they do not really do it justice. The place is even more beautiful than the pictures show.(especially the porch). When we arrived at the rental, it was raining and thundering. However, when we stepped out onto the porch, the weather didn't matter anymore. So peaceful and beautiful. I would highly recommend this property to anyone. It was the PERFECT place for our large family. The four bedrooms were really nice, and we were so glad to have THREE bathrooms!!

The entire house and property are very nice!

Nice vacation spot

  • 5 of 5

Secluded house gave us privacy from neighboors. We felt completely alone. We rented the boat and each day went to a different island to spend the afternoon. The kids loved the water, we never thought that lake sinclair was so warm. We will definately be back.

July 4th Family Weekend

  • 5 of 5

What was originally booked as a family vacation with adult children and their friends sadly became a recovery respite after a tragic family death earlier that week. The peace, solitude and bonding we shared with our children was amazing. We all were so comfortable in our own rooms and own bathrooms, provided with all the essentials. The living room felt homey and familiar. The dining table not only hosted our dinners each night but also board games each night. We had plenty of space in the kitchen for all that we brought and made use of a few prep items - convenient they were available. Quiet mornings with coffee on the back porch in soft cushy chairs and couches, looking out over the water, welcoming the duck and goose visitors that would stop by each day. The highlight for our family was the pontoon boat. Husband and kids spent hours fishing. We explored the lake every morning and evening. People on Lake Sinclair are so friendly - waving at passing boaters, recommending great bass fishing spots. Glass of wine on the dock at night, watching the 4th of July fireworks, was actually joyous, given our family's sadness. Our lakehouse retreat at Jim's home became just what we needed to return home rested and healed just a little for the hard week that was before us.
