2 Bedroom house + Sunroom, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

We are one block to the white sand beach of Lanikai and Mokulua islands. The 1936 redwood home is set back off the street 150' on 1/3 acre, shaded by mango trees and peak views of the ocean. Lawn for playing and a lanai to relax.

Two bedrooms, two baths, 2 king beds and 2 full/double beds plus 2 kid's folding pads. Each bedroom has a king and full bed. 100% cotton sheets, bath items, towels, beach chairs, beach towels and umbrella.

Full kitchen, laundry area, high-speed internet, WiFi, HDtv. One of the original redwood homes of Lanikai, clean, comfortable, recent updates, paint and flooring. 2 blocks to Lanikai Park for swing sets, 4 blocks to Kailua Beach Park, Buzz's Steak House, and over the bridge to Kalapawai Market.

We are one level block to sand.

Cousins grew up in this house and planted the mango tree. My family kama'aina since 1940s, Vacation Rentals since 2005 Makaha and Lanikai.

A very well located property!

I picked this property for its proximity to the beach and it didn't disappoint; it is truly well situated: a block away from the beach which is perfect in my opinion as it avoids the heavy daytime traffic on the main road Mokulua right in front of the beach. The road in front of the house is heavily trafficked, at least in the summer, but not as bad as that in front of the beach. But the house is far enough back from the road that you hardly hear anything.

Kailua town as well as Kailua beach was jammed with tourists when we were there, but Lanikai beach, which is the beach right next door to Kailua and the one you will access from this house is absolutely perfect in every way and as a result we never went to Kailua beach, and I don't think we missed out.

The house had more than enough space for the 5 of us, but most of the time there was only 3-4 of us. Huge common areas and huge bedrooms. Beds and pillows were super comfortable in everyone's opinion. Kitchen has just enough for you to get by but we didn't do a lot of cooking to be honest. Plenty of toilet paper, MORE than enough towels and beach supplies such as chairs (though one chair was ripped through; not sure why it was still available for use as it was unuseable), toys, etc.

Porch is awesome, there's a cool green gecko with red spots who keeps an eye on things, eating ants etc. Kids loved him. Mango tree in front cools the house as do the trade winds. We needed the fans on arrival and maybe one other day but that was really it. Had a mango from the tree by the way; if you can get em off the ground before the birds you won't be disappointed.

Overall the house is in a great spot and the price is right; understand that you are staying in a beach house that is made for sleeping and showering and occasional meal making. The property value is probably pushing 2 million at this point based on location but the interior is very, very basic beach house, not a luxury villa. There are some odd things construction-wise that start to stand out to you after spending any length of time here, nothing dangerous that I could see, but with a goldmine like this property seems to be based on it's rental activity, they would need to shut it down for a year in order to get things squared away proper. WIth that said, I didn't want to leave. My wife however said she would pay a little more money for a nicer place. Take it for what it's worth. Many thanks to the owners for sharing it with us!

Wonderful location, perfect beach house

We wanted a place to stay that was relaxing and easy going. The location was perfect. The beach was an easy stroll away. Plenty of fresh beach towels for us all, plus heaps of beach gear to use. The kitchen had everything we needed, even though we walked not far away to a great steak house for dinner. The house was clean, bright and plenty of room. The beads were very comfortable with extra linen. The bathrooms were also clean and bright. Loved the outside shower. The front veranda was perfect for relaxing. We only wish we could stay longer. We will definitely come back. Mike was very helpful and everything went very smoothly. Mahalo

Ideal location

Loved the location of this rental and it had enough space for our family. It was clean when we arrived and the kitchen was equipped with mostly what we needed. For a 10-day rental, we had to buy extra toilet paper as there was not enough left for us. We were a little unprepared for shampoo supplies and such as we were hoping at least some extras were left behind, but not. Also, no foil or saran wrap in the kitchen. Loved the BBQ and used it daily. We went fishing and got 3 meals of mahi mahi and grilled it to perfection. Beds were comfy and having 2 bathrooms a must for our family! There were ample towels and beach towels which was really helpful. We did several loads of laundry which was key. The front deck was great and being able to walk to the beach was wonderful. It really was the best beach on the island. Though the house was not new, we weren't expecting it to be...but it was great, open, nicely decorated, and we enjoyed relaxing here. So glad we found this place!

Just what we were looking for!

Great location a really short stroll from beautiful Lanikai Beach and short drive to town of Kailua where we found Target, bookstore, restaurants, etc. Gave us a real Hawaiian experience being on the quieter side of Oahu and away from the big city of Honolulu and Waikiki Beach and yet not far from everything that we wanted to do on the island. Fully equipped kitchen and nice to have a barbacue, washer/dryer, beach towels, etc. Would highly recommend for a family holiday. Owner was very, very helpful and great to deal with in making our arrangements...thank you very much!
