About Kimberly

Antique digging at a deserted farm house with my Mom: I think that's what started my fascination with old houses, antiques and repurposing.

Moving to Tacoma I found a city full of creative juices, musicians, glass blowers, painters, Actors, and artist of all kinds. This wonderful creative mojo just flows to you here. I bought my first property here the summer of 2010: a tear down built in 1903. But what I saw, was what the home and area could become. This was a dream project for me, to renovate an old home using old, new and repurposed materials in the design.

I spent the summer renovating, working through one nightmare after another, crooked contractors and all. Very hands on, I worked myself into injury and kept going. I regret nothing but the crooks. This was a labor of love I would do all again and probably will.

My friend Barbara was renting a small one bedroom apartment fully furnished, (dishes towels everything) to traveling nurses and business people. She lives in a different area and thought my location was perfect for this. Tacoma Corporate Rental was born.

I spent the next month furnishing the main floor apartment. Again mixing old and new: you will find it cozy and charming. I currently live up stairs with super dog Maggie, and my hope is to expand to other projects.

Super dog maggie:

Maggie is a trained mutt, you may have as much or no interaction with her as you like. If you are not a dog person let me know she will understand, and you will never know she is here. This property is a no bark zone.

Come and enjoy Tacoma, city of the arts and friendly people, while staying at Tacoma Corporate Rental with its confient location and access to I-5.

I look forward to meeting you

Kimberly Kidd

Great space and location

  • 5 of 5

My mother was in town for surgery. This was the perfect location for her to recover with family around. We had 4 adults with plenty of room and amenities.

Close to hospital and town.

Thanksgiving in Tacoma

  • 4 of 5

We came to Tacoma to cook Thanksgiving week dinners for my son at Fort Lewis and a couple of nieces going to PLU, and this place was perfect for that. The location, just above the museum district and the waterfront, made it so we didn't need a car besides my son's after he got off work. We did yoga in the mornings in front of the picture window and worked at the dining room table. We walked around Tacoma during the afternoons and cooked at night. The kitchen had everything we needed, including spices--including fresh spices in the garden. Kimberly even brought down some pumpkin bread on turkey day! Tacoma is cold for a Californian, but there is forced air to keep the place warm. We will definitely return, but we'll bring slippers :).

Comfortable, spacious accommodation in easy reach of Tacoma and Seattle

  • 5 of 5

It is always difficult when booking accommodation to know how well it is going to suit. I need have had no concerns as it turned out, as the house was easily accessible to public transport for both Tacoma and Seattle. Also in a nice elevated position with extensive views over Tacoma and out to Mr Rainier (which managed to hide for most of the two weeks we were there). The elevated position does however mean that there is a steep flight of steps to reach the front door but there is much easier access to the rear door.

A drawback for anyone without a car is the distance to grocery stores/supermarkets. However, there is an excellent supermarket (Haggens) on Pacific and the No 1 bus will take you there and back and a 7-11 store on the No 3 bus route (bus stops are just outside the property). Fortunately for us, Kimberley picked us up from the airport bus and then took us to a supermarket, which was a tremendous help.

If I were in Tacoma again I would certainly stay here.

Great stay!

  • 5 of 5

Recently stayed for 14 weeks in this very nice 2 bedroom town home. The house had quick access to the expressway and to the waterfront and was within walking distance from downtown Tacoma. Appreciated the fenced in parking. Loved the view of Mt Rainier and the many beautiful sunrises I was able to experience. Kimberly was very nice and helpful during my stay!

This fine home is convenient to (but out of the infamous traffic of) Seattle (40 min), Base 15 min, airport, 20 min. St Johns, Allenmore, and Mary Bridge Hospitals are 5 minutes or less away. Olympia, the state capitol is 30 minutes south. Just across the Narrows Bridge, at varying convenient distances on the Olympic Peninsula, are Gig Harbor, Olympic National Park, the Hood Canal, and Port Angeles with its ferry boats to Victoria, BC, Canada., and Bremerton (with the US Naval Base) and its ferries to Seattle. The home is also a great launching point for day trips to Mt. Rainier National Park (1.5 hours away), Mt. St. Helens National Park (2 hrs away), or the Pacific Coast (2 hours away). Tacoma has many fine restauraunts and brew pubs. Cultural activities include new museums, such as the Washington State Museum, the Glass Museum, the new Tacoma Art Museum, all in the downtown area, blocks away.
