Wolfeboro Lakehouse retreat in the woods!

Bedrooms 1
Property type studio
Minimum Stay 4 - 5 nights

About the property

Attention all leaf peepers! If you thought summer was great you’ll love fall!

Rust Pond is a small, beautiful lake in Wolfeboro. We are one hour north of the ocean and one hour south of the mountains- and we are in the heart of the lakes region! Our small private pond (it’s more of a small lake) empties into the big lake Winnepasaukee. Many visitors choose the quieter choice over the big lake because it’s so peaceful here! In the fall Wolfeboro is beautiful- and the drive up to the mountains is spectacular!!! We are also a great spot for skiers! Rust Pond is pristine- the water is crystal clear. We are renting out an apartment situated over a workshop/garage. There are two floors- the first is an open living room/kitchen with one bathroom. Upstairs is a one large room with two twin beds and one queen bed. The apartment sleeps four but if you choose to bring an air mattress it will sleep five. The owners home is down the hill- you will need to walk past the main home to get to the water.

Why The Owner chose Wolfeboro

Beautiful and peaceful many visitors want to be on a smaller lake and it is one of the cleanest and clearest lakes in the state. It empties into the big lake Winnepasaukee. This is a sought after location with many of the homes in families for 40+ years.

What makes this studio unique

Wanting to see the fall leaves and beautiful autumn in New England? We are a great location! Want quiet away from loud power boats and jet skis? We’ve got you covered! Wake up to the sound of loons each morning and enjoy the peacefullness of Rust Pond- simply the best and most sought after lake in all of Wolfeboro. When you stay with us we will treat you like family. Kid and pet friendly! This is a doggie paradise! Hope to see you soon!!

Super Terrific Place

  • 5 of 5

We spent 5 wonderful days at Jennifer's place .

The house is very clean and comfortable. The property is beautiful. I can't overstate how peaceful it is. The pond is quiet and surprisingly large. The water is warm and the kayaking, swimming, floating, is lots of fun.

Jennifer is a great host. She's friendly and cares to make sure that everything is ok.

The only problem is that I didn't want to leave!

Great Vacation!!

This "Retreat in the Woods" was so peaceful and beautiful! The apartment was perfect, clean, & nicely decorated. It had everything we needed and lots of information about the surrounding area. Jen is the best host, so friendly and generous! She made us feel right at home. Would definitely stay there again!

The BEST rental experience!

  • 5 of 5

This property was even better than described. So clean and organized. Jen went above and beyond the call of duty providing coffee, condiments and a perfectly stocked kitchen. I always travel with my own kitchen stuff, just in case, and the only thing I needed was my Nutri Bullett. A wonderful welcome binder with TONS of information about the town, excursions, shopping areas and what we needed to know about the house itself. I've never felt so comfortable away from home. We did take advantage of using their personal dock to swim in the crystal clear, sandy bottom Rust Pond, a stones throw from our place. Jen's children were super polite and delightful to chat with. Biscuit, their dog, was great as well, and played nicely with one of our little dogs. Jen had a dog water bowl all prepped with doggie treats to boot. We plan to return next season for sure!! I can't say enough good things about this place!

Wolfeboro is such a cute little town and is very dear to us. We try to do all of our business locally and we deeply care about our community. There is always so much to do here and something for everyone. The Country Bookseller is a wonderful cozy bookstore right in town at 23 North Main St. and enjoy coffee, pastries and gelato in The Book Nook Cafe. Store hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The owner, Karen Baker, just received a grant from best selling author James Patterson to support local independent book stores! She is using the grant money to expand her young children and youth section. We have many museums in town! Here are some highlights: The Libby Museum is a natural history museum at the corner of New Hampshire Route 109 and Lang Pond Road in Wolfeboro It is owned by the town of Wolfeboro, and is open seasonally. We love the .Libby Museum on rainy days! Sometimes you can even take an art lesson there! The Libby Museum has a dug out canoe that was actually found in Rust Pond! You can also see a lot of animals local to this region.

The Wright Museum-- The museum's mission is to preserve and share the stories of America's Greatest Generation for the benefit of generations to come. The Wright Museum is a non-profit educational institution dedicated to celebrating Americans' sacrifices and achievements during WWII. The Clark House Museum Complex- The Museum Complex sits in beautiful Clark Park on South Main St. in Wolfeboro and offers summer programs, exhibits and tours of the historic buildings on site. The Barn: An 1840's antique barn under reconstruction by the WHS that will serve as a visitor's center, gift shop, archive and genealogy center. The New Hampshire Boat Museum is an educational organization focusing on the boating heritage and life on the lakes and rivers of New Hampshire. The museum founders, all active in the “antique boat world”, felt that a museum focusing on the impact that recreational and commercial boating had on the development of the lakes and tourism in the Granite State would increase appreciation, awareness, and help preserve these vintage craft. • Check out a movie at the Villiage Theater, Great Water’s music festival, or play! Wolfeboro and the surrounding towns have many summer performances. Here are the websites:

 (Gorden Lighfoot was just here in town at the highschool!) - The Children’s Theater will be performing The Little Mermaid!

Mount Washington Cruises: Daytime scenic cruises departing Wolfeboro Town Docks. Call 366-5531 for schedule of times and dates. There is no bettter way to see Lake Winnipesaukee from May-Oct than from the decks of the M/S Mount Washington. The cruises are really fun and festive. There are sunset cruises and Champagne Brunch cruises as well as day cruises.

Favorite shops in town:

Blacks- a little bit of everything! Kids love it. A Wolfeboro tradition- I love this store!!

Winnipesaukee Chocolates- try the truffles- they are amazing- the bars make great souvenirs- such talented shop owners

Made on Earth- super fun and funky- cute jewelry- sometimes they have great sales!

Dive Winnipesaukee- fun floats and water stuff

Hampshire Pewter- great little pewter shop- each year every state sends one Christmas ornament to the white house… New Hampshire sends their ornament from Hampshire Pewter

Penny Candy- a great store for kids

Every Thursday there is a Farmer’s Market in town! There are a ton of awesome resturaunts! Dockside, 7 Suns, Nolans, and Garwoods are dog friendly! Seven Suns has great crepes! Tons of ice cream shops too! There are 4 beaches in town- tons of trails and events all the time! So much to see and do! We are about 1 hour from the ocean and

If you have kids ages 8 and up you might want to think about taking a boat ride (or drive) to the Weirs! The Weirs (Laconia- Weirs Beach) is fun for kids….
