About James Stanfield
My wife and I have always loved to travel. When we found out we could rent homes for a little more than a hotel, we always decided to rent someone's vacation home and never looked back.
James Stanfield purchased this Bungalow in 2013
Why James Stanfield chose Mystic
We fell in love with this property due to its old age and the beautiful property it sits on. It has unique features that they don't make anymore in the newer homes.
What makes this Bungalow unique
The bungalow was built in year 1900 and was built to last.

The bungalow is adorable and super clean. Well appointed and kitchen works (but small). If you are very tall the stairs and upstairs attic are a little tight. We had three adults and it worked well. It would be nice to have an indoor shower. Our daughter used the outdoor shower and thought it was great.
Such a quaint bungalow!
We loved our stay. It was the perfect size for our small family. Wonderful amenities and close to so many great attractions. Good neighborhood for walking and riding bikes, too. We've already begun considering a return trip!
Clean, comfortable, everything we needed
Perfect accommodation for our group of 5. Beds were comfortable. An indoor shower would have been nice, but we adjusted to the outdoor one. Close to attractions and easy to find plenty to do without traveling far.
Cottage was amazing. Enjoyed our stay with family. Would highly recommend to anyone.
Couldn't ask for a better place to stay. Cottage was beautifully furnished and stocked.
Small home that was perfect for my family
We have stayed in nearby stonington a few years ago, and absolutely loved the whole Mystic CT area. Knowing my 5 year old loves boats and aquariums, we figured we would stay in Mystic.
We inquired with Jim on the home, and we just missed the July 4th holiday booking, so we booked the weekend after. He was very communicative when I made inquiries and helpful with figuring out the cost.
The home is small. It was enough for my wife, 5 year old, my mom, and myself. The downstairs has one bedroom with its own half bathroom, a kitchen, dining room, and living room. There is central air throughout the house, which helped when it was midday and hot. The upstairs is the master bedroom with a full bathroom, but the tub is old school (the shower head isn't standing, at least not that we could tell). The beds are extremely comfortable in both rooms, and the owner maintains the sheets well (clean, no smell, and you can tell its changed).
There is an outdoor section that is extremely nice. It has a shower, grill, fireplace, and hanging lights. It is awesome for entertaining if you are up for grilling (my wife and I are foodies so we ate out a lot, and wished we at least grilled one night).
The home is located right off of route 1. You are literally 10 minutes from the aquarium, 5 minutes from the seaport, and 2 minutes from downtown mystic. You could walk to downtown if you are into that, just know it may take a little while. You are also within walking distance to the supermarket, dog watch BBQ, and some fried seafood place on route 1. My wife and I were happy we were five minutes from Stonington which has a slew of awesome restaraunts.
We absolutely would come back here. I only wished we stayed another night!
Cute house located in great part of town- easy to get to eveything. Kitchen stocked with cooking utensils & pots& pans to cook at home.
