What makes this House unique
Your home away from home on the water!
Very unique accommodations and great location.
This was a fun place to stay. I would caution if you have knee issues there are some steep steps in the boat. It was kind of like camping on the water. Daniel was great and very receptive to any issues we raised. We had wonderful weather so that we spent a lot of our time aboard the boat sitting outside enjoying the sun.
The boat had it's challenges. The stairs were an issue with my husband who is still recovering from a broken back. We managed to keep him safe. The boat next to us to the East pumped water out continuously and that made falling asleep a challenge for me. Not having slept on or even been on a boat this size, I was not aware of the potential challenges for my husband - I grew up in dry country and small lakes, hence only experience with boats are with small ones. Other than those two issues (which aren't fixable by Sleep Afloat) we had no problems adjusting to it.
The location is good. The WiFi is not working and the neighborhood is very bad.
Be aware of the neighborhood, we cannot sleep until late 3:30 am because they are so loud and playing around water. The WiFi is not working at all. The toilet is too small to hold a normal size people.
My 6-year-old and I had a lovely stay on Lola. It was very comfortable and such a fun alternative to staying in a hotel.
A great way to break the hotel monotony
This is a very cool way to get out of the hotel room rut. Great location (a 5 minute walk from the North End and Paul Revere's house) that is quiet and unique. It is a boat, so accommodations have to be made. The quarters are tight and the toilets would be small for a child. Be prepared to get used to the "uniqueness". However, it is well worth the extra effort to not be stuck in a generic hotel room. Once you've gotten it figured out, it is cozy and fun. A great way to make a unique experience in Boston. The management is responsive and accommodating. All in all, a great experience!
Rocked our World!
Whenever we plan a getaway we always look to see if SleepAfloat has a rental in the area. We've stayed with them several times and they never disappoint.
For our weekend away in Boston we opted for Lola. It was the perfect option for me, my husband and son. As expected, the accommodations were very clean and comfortable. Best night's sleep I've ever had on vacation!
The location is fantastic too. The boat is docked right in downtown so there is no need to rent a car. We mostly walked to everything and only took the subway (just a few minutes walk from the marina) when we wanted to visit Fenway Park.
The only suggestion I'd give to the owners is to leave some sort of games on the boat for entertainment during raining days/nights. There is TV and internet on the boat but we had a night in and thought it'd be fun to play some board games or even just cards.
Thanks for the feedback Holly and I'm glad to hear you had a great time! I think some types of games would be a great idea to have on the boats for downtime. We look forward to seeing you again in the future – thanks so much for staying with us!!
