Beautiful and well-appointed cottage close to town
We loved staying in this cottage close to town. Everything that was needed in the kitchen was available. I especially enjoyed the feel of a real cottage to stay in during our vacation: it reminded me of my stays at a family friend's cottage when I was younger.
Even though we spent most of our time out and about in Courtenay and the surrounding area, our time at the cottage was lovely and peaceful. In the evenings, we hung out in the living room playing cards or games and when it was time to sleep, it was very quiet in the area. We will definitely return the next time we are in the Comox Valley.
Loved it !
Lovely home. Great amount of space for myself, my spouse, my child and my parents. Lovely location, walking distance from many amenities. Beautiful grounds. Lots of out door seating to relax and enjoy ! Would definitely recommend to others and I would certainly book again if we end up in the area in the future!
Such a pleasant stay and host!
We stayed here for a few nights in June with our 2 dogs, 2 kids, and nanny. The place had everything we needed, and Maureen was so nice and helpful. And oh my, the landscaping is gorgeous. We loved the location, which allowed us to walk to restaurants in town and our nanny to walk the kids to the public pool and splash park. We will definitely stay here again should we return to the area
Would like to return
We rented on the recommendation of a friend and were not disappointed. We stayed a month and we were not ready to leave. We had several guest who all enjoyed and saw the charm and convenience that we did. The owner was very welcoming and easy to work with. There was good information available in the home on things to do, and restaurants to patronize. We would definitely like to return.
I really appreciate your kind compliments. I'm happy to know that the location suited you - for the exploring, biking and hiking (fishing, maybe next year!) you love to do as well as enjoying the short stroll to Downtown Courtenay to find everything you needed. Until last year I had never met any Texans and I have to say the seven I have now hosted been lovely people :) Thanks so much for your 5 star rating, do come again!
Delightful in every way!
We stayed in Blueberry Cottage for two and a half months. My husband and I felt like personal guests of the owners. The home, gardens and neighbors are delightful. Courtenay is a walkabout town - I could shop for groceries, dine, visit the exercise studio and hair salon easily on foot and walk along the river trail or attend the concerts in the park. The cottage is charming!
I really enjoyed hosting you at blueberry cottage this summer and I'm delighted to hear that you will be returning to the Comox Valley for another Texas summer get-a-way. Thank you for your lovely compliments and your referral for your friends is much appreciated!
Location! Location! Location!
We enjoyed our two week stay in this well cared for older home. The charming cottage is located within walking distance to downtown Courtenay's amenities including shops, cafes and groceries. Situated in a pleasantly landscaped yard, screened by hedges for privacy, we enjoyed the quiet location. The spacious interior has ample room and adequate cookware to prepare meals, bake a cake or entertain guests. All the appliances work well and the bathroom's clawfoot tub is wonderful for relaxing after a busy day of sight seeing. It's a bonus to have laundry on premises. We have been traveling for 15 months, so appreciated the space to spread out awhile. Maureen is always helpful and concerned about her guests comfort. When the temperature dropped below freezing she called to make certain we were staying warm enough. For convenience to downtown Courtenay and local Farmer's Market, this is hard to beat. We highly recommend you give it a try when visiting in the area. If it's not available, we also have experienced the Chocolate Cottage and it is equally wonderful, just smaller.
The Old Orchard Neighbourhood of Courtenay is safe for walks offering mountain and river views as well as heritage houses and gardens. Walk to great shopping, dining and coffee shops, art galleries, museum, library, theatre and dancing as well as swimming (rivers, ocean, lakes and swimming pools) waterpark and a recreation center with indoor gym or outdoor workout area. Easily drive to wilderness areas in the mountains for hiking or skiing or to beaches.
