You'll feel the luxury, love and detail we put into our condo when you first open the door. If you want to pamper yourself while in Maui -- you'll love our unit. Too many little extras to list here.

Our one bedroom, one bath, end unit located on the 2nd floor of building 2 in Maui Vista Resort was renovated from top-to-bottom in October 2011. New ceilings, new paint, new tile flooring throughout, new en suite washer and dryer, new soft close Cherry wood kitchen cabinets, and granite counter tops.

We have tried to think of everything that you'll need in order to feel at home and have the best vacation while in Maui. The condo is equipped with a full size refrigerator with an ice and water dispenser in the door, stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave, plenty of cooking utensils, ice cooler, beach chairs, boogie boards for your use during your stay, tennis rackets, a coffee maker, Kerig machine and a hair dryer (so you don't have to pack one). In the event you have a little one, we have a playpen/crib and counter seat for your use.

The unit will accommodate 2-3 guests comfortably, with a queen size bed fitted with an Island Dreams Waialea luxury mattress, a queen size sofa/sleeper and a twin size Murphy bed. Also included are flat screen televisions in both the living area and bedroom with cable TV and DVD players, telephone service (local and long distance to the US & Canada), internet access (Wi-Fi or ethernet connections) at no additional cost. Air conditioning units and ceiling fans are included in both the main living area and bedroom for your comfort.

Just a 1-2 minute walk across the street to the beach. The resort is located across the street from the famous Kamaole Beach I (locally known as Charley Young Beach). There are three swimming pools on the property, six individually enclosed tennis courts (two per building), and gas-fired grills for each building. You will find that our unit is conveniently located to the building's pool (a view from the lanai), 2 tennis courts, and gas-fired grill. Elevators in each building so no stairs to navigate. Open parking is also available on site and free!

For golfers, courses like Wailea Golf Club, Makena and Ka'anapali make for plenty of world class golf on this island.

About Randal Sitton and Diane Grecco

We live in the State of Washington on the Westside. We have both worked in the public sector and appreciate a good value. Between us we have six children and three beautiful grandchildren. Our children have left the roost and half are college students (here and elsewhere). Our family is our greatest gift and sense of pride. We spend most weekends with our children in the area and our young grandchildren, Lola, Sheldon, and Penelope.

Why Randal Sitton and Diane Grecco chose South Maui

We started traveling to Hawaii in 2004. We have been to all the islands, and when we married in 2005, we married in Poipu, Kauai. We then cruised the islands for our honeymoon (including Maui). We continued to return to Hawaii and Maui for family vacations and special occasions. Maui is one of our favorite islands. We decided to purchased a condo in Maui because we hope that one day it will be our retirement haven. We really love Maui and the relaxing pace, as well as, the lovely beaches and activities. So when we were trying to decide where we'd like to purchase a condo -- the decision wasn't that hard.

What makes this condo unique

We had a few things we wanted in our condo, and we weren't willing to compromise. We wanted to be in Kihei, where the weather is absolutely gorgeous year round. We wanted the complex to have elevators so people with disabilities or limitations could enjoy our home without restriction or inconvenience. We wanted the property to have a tropical resort feel. We wanted to be nearby one of our favorite beaches, Charley Young, and Kam II as well. Maui Vista Resort was the perfect fit for us.

In Maui Vista Resort, we found everything we wanted and then some. We are just a 1-2 minute walk from the beach, the tropical grounds with the lush vegetation are maintained to the highest level, parking is a breeze, the location is central to everything, and yes, we have an en suite washer/dryer (not something available in many complexes).

It was not our original plan to offer our condo as a vacation rental but we wanted to share what we had with others. In doing this, it has been a lot of work but definately a labor of love. Hearing how much our guests have enjoyed our condo and recognizing our 'attention to detail' has been most gratifying.

Wonderful home away from home; containing all of the necessary beach and cooking essentials.

The condo was positioned well in Kihei within walking distance to grocery, beaches and resturants. We sincerely appreciate Jared all of the beach gear, cooking supplies and everyday condiments. We truly had a vacation that created memories that will last our lifetime, would recommend this property to just about anyone.

Leave your beach towels at home!

We could not have picked a better place to stay. The condo was well appointed and up to date with everything one could want except a rice cooker! Leave your beach towels at home, as the owner's has literally, everything for cooking, sleeping, staying at home, and of course going to the beach. Charley Young beach (just across the street) was a great sandy beach and a perfect location to watch the sun set. It was was never too crowded (entrance was off street) and a was a great place to swim, stroll, or boogie board (2 for use). Snorkeling not so great, but could have been the season (stayed when there were record breaking waves on the north side). The owner had a tub full of different snorkel equipment, even for kids. 2 beach chairs that had been updated. Bed was very comfortable, but pillows needed replacing. The dryer still does not work well. It took hours to dry a small load of clothes (even when lint filter was cleaned). The condo was quiet and the bedroom was at the end of the building, so often caught a cool breeze. There were literally, too many to count places to eat and shop, many within walking distance. Our favorite places to eat were some of the food trucks (we left names and locations in the guest book). The location in Kihei could not have been more perfect, as it was centrally located to all the places you would want to explore, and many of the restaurants were very affordable and GOOD! Thanks for making our stay in Maui even more wonderful!!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for the stellar review. We have had similar statements about the dryer taking a long time to dry. Maui Vista Resort condos do not have dryer vents which expel the hot air outside. So rather than letting the "hot" dryer air vent into the closet and condo, we elected to install a condenser dryer which doesn't need to vent. This prevents mold, hot air and humidity from forming in the condo but they do take longer to dry clothes. We are sorry for this inconvenience but hope you, and our future guests, appreciate the added attention to detail. Mahalo

Our Home Away from Home

What a lovely condo! Just two blocks from Charley Young beach and great snorkeling! We cooked almost every night on the awesome BBQ just outside our condo! The kitchen had everything we need to cook and to store leftovers. They even had skewers for shrimp kabobs! The only drawback was the dryer needing to be run 2-3 times before our clothes got dry. The best part was being so close to the beach and town. The staff at Maui Vista was very nice and the security became friends! Sal & Nicole were very helpful and knowledgeable about the area and where to snorkel, eat, etc. Sal made sure we had a parking pass for the weekend and told us where to get a new one on Monday! The air beds made sleeping five people very comfortable. The WiFi was very helpful especially for my friend from Japan. We made friends with other guests while we were using the BBQ and enjoyed some beach times together! The Hidden Spa gave us a great deal on massages! Snorkel Bob's had prescription diving masks which made snorkeling even better! The Dog and The Duck had a casual atmosphere and a great seafood Shepards pie! Food land had everything we needed for incidentals with bulk food being bought at Costco by the airport. The condo had beach chairs, flippers, masks, water socks and a cooler to make beach time awesome for everyone! Beware that the lanai rail is not for hanging your towels or swim wear. You will get a warning and then charged $50 for second violation. The grounds are kept in great condition. We were very happy with our temporary "home" and will return again and again!

Great Condo!

My husband and I had a great stay during spring break! The condo was as described. Although the complex was a little older, the unit was very clean and updated. Only a 5 minute walk to Charley Young Beach (head left when you get to the road) and tons of restaurants in the surrounding area. Having a kitchen saved us lots of $$. We stopped by Costco by the airport to stock up on food. Loved all of the supplies for guest use in the closet (i.e., beach supplies, water sports supplies, etc.). We got a great affordable massage ($60/hr) at the Hidden Spa (1/2 mile from the condo), definitely recommend! Loved the laid back feel of the Kihei area vs. Kaanapali mega resort area. Our trip felt much longer than a week, in a good way. Watching Haleakala sunrise was a highlight of the trip. We highly recommend this condo!

Kihei's central location makes it easy to get to other parts of the island and Kihei is known to be one of the hottest places to stay on Maui (temperature-wise) because it doesn't get the breezes that other parts of the island get (perfect for that winter getaway). During the winter months, whales can sometimes be spotted from the shore.

Kihei is a sprawly place, strung out along the coast for several miles but never more than a mile wide. The main road north-south along the ocean is South Kihei Road and it contains almost all the hotels, condos, restaurants, shops and beaches. So if you don't mind a bit of walking, you can probably get to most things you need without needing a car. If you do drive, the strip malls have their usual adequate free parking although individual restaurants and beaches may not.

Most of Kihei's restaurants and grocery stores are strung out along South Kihei Road (the main drag). There are both supermarkets and smaller food shops along South Kihei Road. Some of the supermarkets can also serve as a restaurant as they sell warm cooked food that is cheaper (and sometimes tastier) than what you find in restaurants. With your own kitchen and the BBQ grill outside your door -- you can enjoy home cooking.

Maui Vista Resort is an affordable vacation condo resort located in Kihei. A beautiful 10-acre resort, lush gardens, well-maintained property with 3 buildings, 3 pools, 6 tennis courts, BBQ & picnic areas. We are located in the 2nd building, 2nd floor, near the pool, tennis court, and outdoor grill. Kamaole I Beach is across the street (a short 2-3 minute walk). Kam I (also known as Charley Young)is known as the best swimming beach, crystal clear water & gentle waves. Outside showers are also provided at Kam I. The condo itself is fully equipped including washer/dryer, TVs/DVDs & air-conditioners.

Lots to do: Go sailing, Kai Kanani Sailing Charters, 34 Wailea Gateway Pl Ste A105, 808-879-7218. Go snorkeling. There is some nice coral around Kamaole Beach Park III or take one of the snorkel cruises that depart from the Kihei Boat Ramp. You can rent or buy snorkel gear a local shops like Snorkel Bob's and Maui Dive Shop but we also provide some snorkel gear in our condo. Go swimming at one of the many beaches. The trio of Kamaole Beaches - Kamaole Beach Park I, II and Iil - are probably the nicest of the Kihei beaches. They each have their own changing rooms although parking is limited if you bring a car. When in Hawaii, a luau is always a nice excursion which features Polynesian music and dancing. Several resorts host them on various nights of the week. Most also feature a buffet dinner.

Visit Kealia Pond National Wildlife Refuge, this is a good place observe Hawaii's endangered wetland birds, along with a diversity of feathered visitors from as far away as Alaska and Canada, and occasionally from Asia. Best season to visit is the winter. Best time of day is in the morning. Of course, a walk along the beach, morning, noon, at sunset, or at night, is always relaxing and beautiful. For those early birds, don't forget to catch the sunrise from the top of Haleakala. Maui isn't a large island, so you can go anywhere from Kihei as a day trip.

Nearby, heading south on the Pi'ilani Highway, is the resort community of Wailea and the beautiful beaches of Makena. Further south, with snorkeling and hiking opportunities, is Ahihi Reserve and La Perouse Bay.

Heading out of town on North Kihei Road will provide access to the old whaling town of Lahaina and the resort areas of West Maui.

Heading north on the Mokulele Highway will bring you into the central part of the island, where you can hike or catch the sunrise (or sunset) in Haleakala National Park, drive the Road to Hana, hit the beaches on Maui's north shore or head upcountry and visit Maui's only winery.
