Our party of four really loved our stay at Hidei's vacation home. It is a beautifully appointed property,; spacious, very comfortable, lots of natural light, good heating, great beds and very aesthetic. It really felt like a home away from home. The house is in a lovely location situated on the canal, close ( few minutes ) to all of the restaurants and shops but at the quiet end of the charming street. Convenience stores close by, and department stores 7 mins walk. We were lucky enough to arrive just at the beginning of cherry blossom season, the blossoms are literally right outside the house and we had the constant pleasure of viewing them from every room in the house, both during the day and in the evenings. Highly recommend, love to stay again in the future.. Could easily accomodate more people if required.
This is a wonderful house. well appointed and great outlook.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Wonderful house and great views. Close to town but still felt very local and quiet. There's some construction right outside which was a little noisy but intermittent and only sometimes between 10-4, so didn't impact our stay significantly. Highly recommend this place - thanks Hidei!
We had a party of five adults and a baby stay at the house for just over a week. The house is everything that everyone else has said. It is in a beautiful, quiet but central location and would be perfect with four additions, especially for people enjoying longer stays and with larger parties;
1 A couple of comfortable chairs to read in because when the living area is being used as a bedroom the sofa is unavailable. I would have loved to have had a comfy chair or two on the balcony rather that having to take the dining chairs out.
2 A full length mirror downstairs.
3 Light Summer weight blankets.
4 A proper sink in the downstairs toilet so that everyone isn't having to use the bathroom upstairs.
Wonderful apartment in great location
Our family of 5 adults stayed here during the first week of May and it was the perfect spot for our visit to Kyoto. Situated in a quiet neighborhood with easy walking access to downtown and Gion district. The apartment was well equipped for meals and relaxation. Very satisfied.
Blown away by this property!
We've stayed at many vacation rentals over the last decade and simply loved this home for lots of reasons- 1st is the location cannot be beat! Heart of Gion and easy access to restaurants, sites and world class shopping. 2nd- so central and yet so quiet and serene- clean and nicely appointed. 3rd- Kyoto in general is a must stop for Anyone travelling to Japan.
Takasegawa Suites.....Great place to stay and enjoy Kyoto with all it has to offer.
Fantastic place to stay, very clean, well equiped, lovely comfortable beds, every thing you could wish for in a rental property. We overlooked the Takasegawa River while having our breakfast & morning tea, very restful & beautiful. We stayed for 6 nights at Takasegawa Suites and wished we had stayed longer. Great place to stay, easy to get around the Gion area, walking distance to all the great local restaurants. The owner, Hidei, is the perfect host, although he's not at the property he's only a phone call away if needed. He book some fantastic restaurants for us especially the one where we celebrated our 35th Wedding Anniversary. Thankyou so much Hidei for everything.
Can highly recommend Takasegawa Suites, we've been visiting the Gion in Kyoto every year for the past 11 years and this would have to be our the most relaxing, enjoyable stay we've had. It's a place we will return too.
Thanks again Hidei.

This festival has continued in Kyoto for over 1000 years and draws people from all over Japan to witness its beauty and awe inspiring tradition. Kyoto's is filled with markets that occur every month. You can find beautiful old Kimonos (sometimes new), Obi (kimono belts), gorgeous Japanese artifacts and sometimes swords. These temple and street markets are fun-filled and lively. They are great for strolling through and also a good chance to chat with the locals.
