About the property

Historical 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bathrooms home at the foothills of Pikes Peak

If you are looking for a relaxing vacation in Manitou Springs, you will love this beautiful renovated Victorian house only a few steps to the COG Railway and the infamous Incline. The upgrades and the tasteful interior design give this home a very unique character and charm which stands out from the rest.

The house offers three big bedrooms, a family room with a Murphy bed, a living room and a formal dining room; all with lots of natural lights. The kitchen is a Chef's dream - with modern amenities, which include maple cabinets, stainless steel LG appliances, granite counters and two islands for social gathering. The house features a front load washer and dryer, wireless internet, cable TV, flat screen TV, DVD players and plenty of games and art supplies to entertain your children.

You will love sitting on the front covered porch, drinking your morning coffee and watching the hikers as they make their way to the top of the Incline or sipping an evening drink listening to the sounds of the nearby creek.

This is the perfect house for 8 adults or a family wanting to be close to the outdoor activities and within walking distance to the shops and dining in Downtown Manitou Springs. About Suzanne

After 27 years in the Canadian Army, 3 tours in Afghanistan and Croatia and a 3 year at Peterson AFB working for NORAD, it was time to slow down and enjoy life and what Colorado has to offer. Could not think of a better place than Manitou Springs with all the fantastic outdoor venues as well as this historic boarding house that has been an exciting and artistic project to restore in the last 3 years.

Suzanne purchased this house in 2011

Why Suzanne chose Colorado Springs

Yes! Like many others, I fell in love with Manitou Springs. I feel incredibly fortunate to have created a mountain heaven that allows me to indulge in all the activities I enjoy on a regular basis, including hiking up the Incline or Barr Trail, mountain biking at Red Rock Canyon, cycling loops around the Garden of the Gods or taking a stroll in downtown Manitou Springs and enjoying the art community and the great food of our local restaurants.

What makes this house unique

The house is the best place for people watching as hikers and runners make their way up Pikes Peak and the Incline. It is also the ideal place if you want to hike up the many trails around the house, take the COG train to the top of Pikes Peak or avoid the traffic and take the free shuttle to downtown Manitou and enjoy the various eateries and shops.

IT WAS AMAZING. GREAT STAY. 6 STARS.

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful experience. Suzanne was very welcoming, she came by herself to shovel the snow! She also helped us to figure out a wonderful coffee maker, everyone really enjoyed the coffee. This is the second time we stay at this house and the second time it feels like home. Definitely want to come back. Suzanne, thank you so much! I really enjoyed my birthday. Everybody loved the house.

great location

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay there, and Suzanne was excellent.

It was nice to have sitting areas on both floors as well as a porch.

The only downside was that there were quite a few things that did not work.

It probably would be helpful to know about those when arriving. Suzanne was responsive to everything - we just felt badly calling her.

The location was just excellent for lots of hiking and also for walking in to Manitou Springs!!

Luxury and Location, Awesome!

  • 5 of 5

Loved this location, and the whole weekend. From New Jersey and out to Colorado to visit our older son's and family. This was the perfect location for us. The house was just as described and more. Completely renovated home more than a century old upgraded to include every modern day comfort while maintaining it's historic charm. The location is awesome as we walked to and completed the Manitou climb and then returned back to the house to enjoy the deck and outdoor seating areas to enjoy a well earned cocktail and relax. Watching and listening to all the climbers coming and going as they walked past the house and the sound of the stream right across the street just added to the fun of the weekend. We spent both evenings gathered around the great dining room table playing games, laughing and reminiscing over past vacations and how this place checked every block someone would like. The house is only about a half mile from town and we spent the afternoon walking while my wife and daughters shopped. Nice quaint town with lots of activity. The pictures are an accurate reflection of the property and the available parking is a great plus because the only other parking is in the paid lots across the street for the climb and the Pikes Peak railway. Anyone renting this house will love it and the owner , Suzanne was great to work with and checked in to see if everything was okay. Thanks for everything Suzanne, hope to see you in the future. Regards, The King's.

Wonderful Manitou home

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time renting this home but it won't be our last. At first glance, the home has been updated in the best of taste with interesting touches throughout. The bedrooms beautiful and the master bath is really well done. There is a living room, dining room and a great kitchen on the first floor as well as a half bath under the staircase. An additional living room is upstairs with a Murphy bed for additional guests if need be.

The location is just a few feet from the cog railway which does add some traffic (both foot and auto) in front of the house but also means there is a free shuttle stop a very short walk away. The porch is great for evening gatherings or morning coffee.

We will rent this home again on our next visit to Manitou Springs
