After 27 years in the Canadian Army, 3 tours in Afghanistan and Croatia and a 3 year at Peterson AFB working for NORAD, it was time to slow down and enjoy life and what Colorado has to offer. Could not think of a better place than Manitou Springs with all the fantastic outdoor venues as well as this historic boarding house that has been an exciting and artistic project to restore in the last 3 years.
Suzanne purchased this House in 2011
Why Suzanne chose Manitou Springs
Yes! Like many others, I fell in love with Manitou Springs. I feel incredibly fortunate to have created a mountain heaven that allows me to indulge in all the activities I enjoy on a regular basis, including hiking up the Incline or Barr Trail, mountain biking at Red Rock Canyon, cycling loops around the Garden of the Gods or taking a stroll in downtown Manitou Springs and enjoying the art community and the great food of our local restaurants.
What makes this House unique
The house is the best place for people watching as hikers and runners make their way up Pikes Peak and the Incline. It is also the ideal place if you want to hike up the many trails around the house, take the COG train to the top of Pikes Peak or avoid the traffic and take the free shuttle to downtown Manitou and enjoy the various eateries and shops.

Beautiful home and amazing location!
Stayed here for a week with my entire family. Our stay here was relaxing and memorable. No need to bring anything extra. She has you covered for everything. Kitchen supplies, games, cards, towels, lotions, dog bowls, leashes, even baby gates and play pens! And plenty of coffee! We absolutely loved it here! The location is perfect for shopping and hiking. Both are readily available in just a few steps! Stay here if you are coming to the area. You will be happy you did!
Very beautiful location and extremely convenient.
Beautiful place. Very convenient location across a free shuttle that takes you into town and back. You're also next to the Pikes Peak Cog Rail (currently under construction but will be useful in the future! ). You can walk to the Manitou Incline and only a short drive from Cave of the Winds, Garden of the Gods, Seven Falls and many other trails and attractions. Beautiful house with lots of space. The owner provides easy directions along with useful information and responds quickly to any questions you have.
Beautiful home near the Incline
This is the perfect spot for a family getaway or in our case a wedding! We stayed here along with another couple and it was perfect. There was everything you need to host dinner parties (plenty of spices, cookware, and serving dishes) which was excellent as our parents were staying next door. We enjoyed being able to hike just out our front door and the walk to town was easy. There are several different patios to choose from which was wonderful for people watching, including one that was more secluded upstairs. There is also a free shuttle across the street if the hill is too much. Our wedding photos turned out amazing with the beautiful decor in the house. If you are getting married in Manitou this is the perfect place! Many of our guests rented homes in the area and ours was by far the most charming and had the best amenities. You can truly tell that the owners take excellent pride in this property and is more than just rental income. We already cannot wait to return to Manitou Springs!
A little getaway
Great place, close to lots of hiking, fully equipped kitchen so awesome for cooking in! Thank you!
Has EVERYTHING you could need. Charming, quiet, close to shopping and restaurants
Mt. Manitou has everything you could imagine you might need in a home and then some. Suzanne was very responsive and helpful. Our family has rented several VRBO’s and this one hands down had the best ammenities. Great location as well. We will book again for sure.
The house was very nice clean and well kept and she was very friendly
Located at the base of Pikes Peak, steps away from the COG Railway, the Incline and Barr Trail.
