Coastal Charm, Ocean Front, 2 Bedrooms, Sleeps 6

Bedrooms 2
Property type house
Minimum Stay 1 - 21 nights

About the property

2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 6

Finally! A beach house with an incredible, fully fenced, ocean-front deck. Coastal Charm Beach House is rental ready to knock 6 pairs of socks off of you and your guests. Choose this home’s new furniture, fixtures and appliances and the olden-days appeal of Ponte Vedra and you’ll never search for another vacation rental again.

You could hunt for a home with a slivered ocean-view or vague beach access, or instead spend a perfect vacation enjoying the non-stop ocean at all hours – whether you’re indoors or out. Sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean is an incredible sight. Lucky for you, you can stay in your PJs, sitting comfortably at the breakfast bar as the coffee-maker does its thing. More of a night owl? Bring a cup of tea or something stronger out to your ocean-front deck and spend a memorable evening stargazing.

Through your waking hours, you’ll be forever drawn towards the ocean. Whether you’d like to explore miles of beach as an independent, ‘quiet-time’ adventure, or as a family romp, it’s never been easier to grab some sunglasses and walk out the back door to your beach.

Access the deck from either the kitchen or the living room. When you’ve had enough sunshine, crash out on a couch in the living room. Enjoy a nap or an indulgent afternoon movie on the HDTV. With windows on all sides and a whitewashed beamed ceiling, it’s easy to drift off to fluffy cloud, vacation dreams.

A dining room is an ideal venue for long family meals or a surprisingly competitive board game. While the table seats all six guests (an unusual feature for a large beach home), you might prefer the casual convenience of the breakfast bar (not to mention its view!). A huge French-door fridge/freezer means you never need to run out of cold beer or ice-cream-for-breakfast. Besides groceries, everything you need kitchen-wise is thoughtfully provided. Even the view will exceed your expectations!

Two bedrooms have a king and queen bed respectively and, should you need it, the living room couch transforms to an extremely comfy sleeper sofa. This makes Coastal Charm Beach House the ideal spot whether you’re coming as one family, two, or as three couples meeting up for a relaxing weekend.

While you’re soothing your soul ocean-side, you needn’t miss an Instagram. Free Wi-Fi is included with your rental and there’s of course air-conditioning throughout (though you might love to use the ceiling fans with the sliding doors left wide open). Pack as little as you like! There are a washer and dryer to keep you clean. (Please note that the garage is used as owners’ storage, yet ample parking is available in the driveway area).

Coastal Charm Beach House is in an unrivaled location for quiet, private time with abundant wildlife all around – whether you prefer to spot migrating birds, whales or the multitude of species who live across the street at the Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve. It’s a mouthful, sure, but as far as neighbors go, you’ve never known more spectacular!

Worst property ever

  • 1 of 5

If you have family and kids, this is definitely a house not to consider. The house is full of spider webs and deck is full of splinters. This property is very unsafe, even after reporting, V trip company did nothing to make our stay better. Also beds are horrible.

During our stay, kitchen had no oven or exhaust, A/C did not work properly.

List goes on and on... We stay every year at 2 Properties and Trust me when I say this, we will never recommend this property.

Also the beach is very Shelly not much sandy but it doesn’t bother after a Day.

A great vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We were very pleased with our stay at Coastal Charm. The beach was just a few yards from the back patio and shelling was abundant. The house was open and uncluttered with lots of space for our guests to visit. The washer and dryer room downstairs had another room behind it which was plenty big enough to set up our ping pong table for our sons and their friends to enjoy. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans and plenty of utensils, plates and silverware. The kitchen appliances all worked beautifully except the toaster (which by the way should be condemned). The nearest grocery stores are 10 miles either way on Route A1A so if you are grocery shopping prior to checking in you should be aware that you might need TP, paper towels, hand soap, shampoo and body wash, dish soap and a sponge, laundry soap as these are not provided. There was parking enough in the driveway for 4 cars as well as plenty of street parking on the other side of the road off of the bike route. The posting for this property is incorrect though, it is not in Jacksonville beach as the map shows, it is on Ponte Vedra Blvd. next to the Guana River. It was a beautiful open area that is peaceful and quiet with an unpopulated beach and plenty to explore for all ages. Thank you so much for sharing your house!

Perfect location, could use some home improvements

  • 4 of 5

The location of the home is perfect. Right on the beach with VERY minimal beach "traffic". The back deck was a great place to watch the sunrise each morning. The house has charm and was good for our short stay. The Master BR was large and nice. But the guest room could use a new mattress and some updating.

The only real issues I found were:

1) the yard....or lack of it. With this being a pet friendly house, there is no yard area for the dogs to "do their business". The front yard is mostly palmettos (lining the entire drive) and a large patch of waist-high weeds (a mix of stinging nettles and beggar's lice). My dogs were covered in "beggar's lice" off the weeds every time they went into the "yard". I actually pulled weeds from a large portion of the "yard" just so I could stop picking the "beggar's lice" off my dogs each time they went out. A little mowing and weed-eating would do wonders and make things a lot more pet-friendly.

2) Housekeeping- the house keeping looked like it was rushed. Though the bedding and towel were clean and neat- There was "left over" dried toothpaste on the counter in the the master bath and there were several sticky spots left by the previous guests on the kitchen counter (kind of gross). The floor didn't feel very clean, but it is a beach house.

This house was great for our short stay, but I probably wouldn't enjoy a 7 night stay here - mostly because of the needed improvements (blinds on sliding glass door fell off every time I opened them, deck on the verge of needing repair (had to remove 2 splinters from my hand), batteries in all but one remote (tv/dvr) were dead, yard is REALLY over grown and has trash laying about.)

A little TLC to this house and it would make for a great place to stay for an extended period of time. Location can't be beat.

Skip this rental!! So many things wrong upon checking in, faulty wiring, lights constantly flickering when various appliances run, even as small as the broken toaster. Incomplete kitchen utensils, lights that don't work all over the house. Their solution is to drop off bulbs / did not even take the time to install. Broken RUSTY grill, deck table and chairs cheap and broken, top of table not even secured. Furniture so stained it appears to have been used at a frat house in a former life - called several times for resolution, never got resolution; instead got employees that talked over me and gave me the run around. Filthy floors upon check in, bare feet black, I had to mop floors myself. Mold in the showers, cigarette butts and trash all around the property, some hurricane debris on beach that should be removed. Screen ripped on patio door, door handle on entrance door hanging by a thread, lights hanging from their housing....simply unbelievable that they represent this as coastal charm. Coastal nightmare is more accurate! It is a shame because the property could be quite charming with some tlc. The Mgmt company is inept and uncaring - impossible to get in touch with the decision makers to get resolution. I would like 50% of my money refunded and they should fix all of the items that are broken or missing before renting to another client. The maintainence man that came on Wed said many of the items that needed repair had been that way for several months. Pull out sofa is back breaking, so horrible that we purchased an air mattress to sleep on.

Relaxing getaway

  • 4 of 5

Nice quiet home on the beach. My husband and I wanted a weekend getaway with our dogs. This was perfect. The giant wraparound porch was beautiful to sit and listen to the ocean. The home has been updated and has bare essentials. Located near St. Augustine and Jacksonville so plenty of restaurants and activities for those wanting it. We will be back to this property for a longer stay!! B&A

Somewhat misleading

  • 2 of 5

While the interior is modernized and cozy, the outside and deck need some obvious TLC. The deck seems hazardous as it is leaning and what appears to be an old portion of the boardwalk still remains with exposed nails. The dishwasher was not operating during our stay and even though that was not an issue for us, it could be for someone vacationing that planned on eating in for the majority of their meals. The $250 cleaning fee was a steep price to pay considering the coffee pot had not been cleaned prior to our stay and still had old coffee grains in it along with an old used bar of soap in the masters shower. YUCK! Half of the interior lights had blown bulbs so lighting was an issue.

To the owner: you may want to reevaluate the property management service you are utilizing.

On a positive note: the location was perfect, the privacy was perfect. The beach view was amazing and literally right in the "back yard".

Recommend Cap's on the water for a beautiful sunset dinner only 7 miles away.

Make note that navigation does not recognize the mailbox number of 2427 but rather the number on the house of 2428. Very difficult to locate after sunset on a somewhat busy thoroughfare.

Owner's Response: Hi Tanya, We are sorry you were not satisfied with your stay. We have looked into this with our property management company and they have no record of a maintenance order being requested, however, we have brought it to their attention so that these issues will not affect our future guests. We appreciate your feedback.
