Why Julia chose Seaside

This home has been in our family for over 20 years - it was a great escape from the busy lives we have in Portland. It gave our family the time to slow things down and reconnect with each other, rejuvenate from the fresh sea air, a place to relax and hand out!

Great for a large family vacation

  • 5 of 5

We were an extended group of households from an out of town family of 10 (several couldn't come) from 5 to 70. This house and kitchen worked great. All items were usable and in good repair. Only problem we had was narrow driveway, but we managed that ok. We parked 2 cars in the backyard and one on the street. All walked to town and to the beach from the property. Oldest (70) years had no problem with back stairs. I use a walker for town and Promenade, but I left it at ground level and picked it up when walking. I did bring my bathroom seat riser (portable) to use as I need a taller seat to rise from. Beds were no problem and we all slept well. One couple really enjoyed the deep soaking tub. I needed to leave my bedroom window open during day when it was really warm-but I like a cool room to sleep in. Rest of house was fine. Do try the Linguica Pizza from Pizza Harbor in Seaside, OR. Have enjoyed it for 35+ years. Yummy. We had no problems with internet service, worked fine with password. May not be fancy but we all had a great time, took showers, etc. Dinners were easily cooked in the kitchen. Coffee pot worked fine, etc. Everything we expected to get and more.

Owner's Response: Thank you . We are glad you enjoyed our family home. Our family has many wonderful memories over the years. We are working to see if it is possible to make the driveway larger. Come back any time. Julia

Geat house very close to the ocean. We absolutely loved our stay.

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing time, super cute perfect little upstairs area for my 2 teenage boys. Then perfect trundle bed for my little nieces. The house fit our family very well. The back yard was a great size for our 2 pups, they chased the seaguls around. I recommend this home to anyone who wants to enjoy seaside.

Great

The house was great well kept and clean.Great location minutes from the beach. Just the parking was limited hard to manuver in the driveway and the street was narrow as well. But none the less me and my family had a great stay.

Great Beach Stay

  • 5 of 5

Had a group of coworkers in town and opted to stay in a house instead of hotel rooms. It was a cute, old house very close to the beach and within walking distance to the downtown area. Everything was neat and clean and there were plenty of beds and sleeping spaces for 7 of us. I would love to stay here again in the future!

Casual beach house in prime location

  • 4 of 5

This house is in a prime location, a block walk to the beach. It is spacious and sleeps 12 comfortably. It is definitely a "beach house" with a casual setting. There are two main areas in the house to gather, both with TVs and tables. Three bathrooms and showers, which is nice. There is also a space downstairs, which is more modern and up to date with two bedrooms and two bathrooms and nice kitchen; however, the ceilings are very low. My sons are 6'2 and they had to bend their heads to fit so anybody taller than 6'0 should not rent that portion.

As with most beach rentals, the pots and pans, knives, etc aren't the best so if you plan to cook I recommend bringing your own pans and knives. However, we had everything we needed. Large deck surrounds back and side of house.

The owner does a nice job of making sure you have what you need for the stay. We will be renting it again next year!

Big comfortable house, not so comfortable beds

  • 3 of 5

We had a good stay and the house is a decent size and is comfortable. There is plenty of space and bathrooms so good for large families. You do have to go up a full flight of stairs to get to the house though so keep that in mind.

The location is excellent! A few things didn't go well:

- The beds are clearly old and are not very comfortable. I don't think we'll re-rent unless they get new mattresses so they don't squeak every time you move and are more comfortable

- The wireless didn't work (not a big deal)

- The ceilings in the lower unit that you can rent for overflow are about 5'10" so if you're tall, it's not the best.
