About Kip Burdick

The property was purchased by Kip and Sandy Burdick in February of 1997. The home was originally built in 1973 by Floyd and Irene Holt on 28 acres with a barn, stables and pastures. At that time 27th Street was a gravel road and the property was in the country. The home was scheduled for demolition in 1996 when the Burdicks made an offer for the property 'as is'. Restoration took 4 months before the home was livable. With minor exceptions all of the design, remodel and construction was done by the owners. the current neighborhood around the 0.42 acre property was developed from 2001 - 2004.

Kip is a Civil Engineer and Sandy is currently a caregiver. We enjoy golf, skiing, and fishing and camping in the high lakes with our two dogs. We have 5 grandchildren and love going to their athletic events.

Kip Burdick purchased this house in 1997

Great space for our weekend getaway.

The Hexagon House worked perfectly for our 3 family get away weekend. A unique space in a quiet neighborhood close enough to plenty of amenities.

Fantastic stay at The Hexagon House

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for sharing this fantastic house. Not only did we enjoy our stay, the dogs had a blast exploring the backyard and its different levels! Loved being together in the family cave each evening, watching the huge screened tv. Kitchen was well stocked. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck, taking in the views. Best of all, there was no set "arrival time" as most other rentals require (usually 4 PM).... We were allowed to show up anytime and received a personal tour of the house by Kip. Good times!

What a fabulous place to celebrate our 50th Anniversary!

  • 5 of 5

A huge “thank you” to Sandy and Kip Burdick for allowing us the use of their Bend, OR home! We looked and looked for just the right place and found their Hexagon House to be a perfect fit for the week we were based in Bend to celebrate with family and friends. We had plenty of room for the three generations to stretch out, read, recreate and visit as well as to find a quiet space in the garden, hot tub or "THE MAN CAVE" when needed to just chill and relax.

The location was perfect for a quick 10 min car trip to all the shopping downtown and nearby south on handy 27th, 1/2 block away. As reported by others, Kip was always a quick text away to help out when needed.

The condition of the property was neat and very clean with a few quirks ever present in someone else's lived-in home but need fixing [the master bath tub drain was very slow and in need of adjustment]. but, we did not let those things bother our overall enjoyment of the moment.

We did lots of cooking on the grill and in the very well stocked kitchen, everything that you would ever need for cooking! Kip’s simple quideline of “use it and replenish it when needed” allowed us to buy and restock the larder and fridge before we left.

In all, if we ever return and need space again in the Bend area, this will be our 1st choice, hands down! Of course, we have already shared this good news with our friends back here in he Boston area. So, if this place is available, act on it, and don't waver. We may beat you to it some day soon!

p.s. While we used to live in Portland many years ago, it has been a while since we visited the High Desert Museum just south of Bend. We highly, highly recommend that you make this stop a priority, especially the live raptor show at 12:30pm. Check their website for details.

Great house with plenty of room

  • 5 of 5

I met Kip when I checked into the house and he was so nice, accommodating and helpful. The house is absolutely beautiful and has lots of personality. The kitchen was easy to maneuver through and the views from the porch were nice.

There is a downstairs area with a large TV for those who just want to veg out, but the yard is very inviting with enough space to play some lawn games and a hot tub as well. The upstairs area is perfect for board games and socializing. We also had a basketball tournament in the driveway and had plenty of space for 3-on-3 with adults playing.

Can't say enough about this property!

Great dog-friendly place for groups

  • 5 of 5

Kip was great with communication, and was gracious enough to let one of the couples with us stay another night after our planned departure.

This eclectic house was a great size for 8 of us with a couple of dogs over the long Thanksgiving weekend. It was easy to be with the group or steal away for some quiet time. Everything we needed was there. We enjoyed cooking and hanging out in the kitchen, and relaxing in the TV/game room downstairs. The two decks were great, with a hot tub, grill, and easy access to let the dogs out / in of the pretty big fenced yard. There was also a pet flap so they could let themselves in and out if we chose. There was also a huge fenced dog park nearby (which we didn't use because we were busy hiking, fishing, skiing, and climbing in the surrounding areas) but it might be something that might appeal to others. We would definitely stay here again.
