The J.C. Taylor house is located in downtown Hibbing, Minnesota, across the street from the Hibbing High School. This sunny and cheerful historic home is exceptionally clean. It features 9' ceilings and is tastefully decorated.
The living room, dining room and library are fully finished for you to enjoy and relax. The living room and library have wonderful views of the high school. There is a TV in the library.
The newly renovated kitchen has granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. The kitchen is stocked with the basic necessities and Starbucks coffee is there for you to enjoy. An adjoining eating nook looks out into the garden.
The bedrooms have new mattresses, large pillows and nice quality bedding. Each bedroom has a bedside table, reading lamp, and alarm clock. The master bedroom has an ensuite with a shower and a beautiful view of the high school. All of the bathrooms have colorful vintage tile.
For summer visitors there are air conditioners and fans.
The house is located one block from the town's main street and is within easy walking distance to restaurants, churches, the library, and City Hall. For Bob Dylan fans, you are very close to his childhood home, school, and places he frequented.
This custom built house with its unique architecture was designed and lived in by architect James Clifford Taylor in 1922. Mr. Taylor was also the designer of 'Bus Andy's' house--one of the founders of Greyhound Bus. Mr. Taylor was also the supervising architect of the high school.
We hope you enjoy your visit to our home.

I live in Seattle but visit Hibbing several times a year. Contrary to popular belief, you can go home again. I enjoy the peace and quiet of the town--no freeway noise, no airplanes--just the sound of birds chirping, dogs barking and families outside enjoying themselves. For me, it's a trip back to the 50's.
The Owner purchased this house in 2011
I was born in Hibbing. We bought this house as a retreat for our family when we feel the need to be 'Iron Rangers'.
The home is centrally located in downtown Hibbing, across the street from Hibbing High School. It is within easy walking distance to several restaurants, churches, schools and the library. If you're a Bob Dylan fan, his childhood home is nearby too.
We really enjoyed staying in your beautiful home! We were so happy with
everything. Our visit with our daughter was so special since she is about
to have her fourth child and we got to meet two of our Grandchildren
finally! When we do return to Minnesota sometime in the future we will
check to see if your lovely home is available.
This is our second experience at the J. J. Taylor house, which was as pleasant as the first with all the amenities and comfort of a home. We enjoyed the location, which is close to downtown Hibbing activities and walking distance to many historic sites such as the current city hall, which was a court house, and the Hibbing High School.
The rooms were well stocked, clean, smartly decorated, and comfortablely home like.
We were pleasantly surprised with the well stocked kitchen, linen closets, and bathrooms.
The accommodations were more than we expected and comfortably meet all of our needs.
We are impressed with the decor, amenities, and extras offered that made our stay exceptional.
I have stayed at the property 3 times its always very clean and the owner will help with any issue that arises. Will be back.
We were so pleased to have such wonderful accommodations during our stay in Hibbing. This is a charming house that has been very well preserved and updated. My family of 6 was able to spread out, with plenty of comfortable bedrooms, and also come together on the patio in the pretty yard, as well as the spacious living room/dining room and comfortable den. The house is very clean, and the kitchen extremely well equipped. It was fun to look out at the high school across the street where I and several generations of my family went to school. The J.C. Taylor house will be a delightful part of our family memories during our trip "back home" to Hibbing. Thank you Carol! We would love to come back again and again!
What a nice house! It is bright and immaculately clean. Our group of four adults enjoyed the spacious bedrooms and the nice yard. Being able to see stately Hibbing High School from the house was a bonus. Plentiful towels, fresh coffee, and wifi were appreciated. Would love to stay there again.
We rented this home for four nights during the Christmas holiday. With family coming from across the US, it was the perfect home to accommodate our needs. We arrived to find the home pleasingly decorated with a Christmas tree and other festive touches, which was wonderful, as we had fully intended to decorate it ourselves, if need be. The Starbucks Holiday-blend coffee was a real treat. The nicely equipped kitchen allowed us to cook a delicious Christmas dinner, and surprisingly was not the place people tended to gather, as the spacious living room, den and dining room offered space to congregate comfortably. Each morning, we started the day with an intimate breakfast and coffee in the cozy, bright breakfast nook. The beds were comfortable, the home was toasty warm and the bathrooms were nicely appointed with soft towels. The home was immaculately clean, comfortable, and suited with all the necessary amenities. Any questions we had, were promptly addressed by the caretaker. I would definitely stay here again, and hope to in the near future.
No parties--graduation, birthday, etc.
