Beautiful View

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely home, great view of Whiteface, close to everything we wanted to do in the Adirondacks (hiking, biking and boating). We loved dining out on the screened porch, listening to an owl in the wee hours, hanging out together in the great room. No complaints, beyond a little dust (overall a pretty clean house though) and having to buy wash cloths and dish liquid because there weren't any there (otherwise very well stocked).

Awesome Adirondack stay!

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful home! It feels cozy, yet it's large enough for two sisters and our kids. We especially enjoyed the kitchen, screened-in porch, fire pit, and most of all, the amazing views of Whiteface Mountain. The location allowed us to relax away from the tourist hustle and bustle during the evening, but was central enough to allow us to go on day trips to lots of places in the area. Lynne was easy to communicate with and even left a vase of flowers as she knew we would be arriving on my birthday! We enjoyed our stay so much- if I wasn't such a wanderlust, I would be back! Thanks!

Absolutely loved this vacation home!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I and our 2 boys (ages 10 and 12) stayed here for a week in July. I can't say enough good things about this vacation home as well as the hospitality of the owners, Lynne and Robin.

First of all -- cleanliness. A vacation home has to be clean, and this place was perfectly clean and ready for us when we arrived. Next, a stay at a vacation home should feel like you've gone away to someplace special, not just an ordinary house... and this home completely exceeded all of our expectations in that regard. Such cool decor on the inside... everything is all brand new (the house was just built) but it was decorated to look like a traditional Adirondack camp. We were fascinated by all the fine and intricate woodwork throughout the interior. It is truly a stunningly beautiful home. The beds, by the way, were all very, very comfortable.

The layout of the home is fantastic... what a great idea to have the top floor be the living area, with the kitchen, dining area and living room all in a spacious and connected open area, and all of it with direct access to both the side, screened-in porch and the front balcony with the jaw-dropping views of Whiteface Mountain. We loved that layout and the views so much that for 5 of the 7 nights we were there, we stayed in for dinner and ate out on either the porch or the balcony. You simply cannot beat those views!

The location is great. The home is tucked away on a quite horseshoe of a road and it backs up to a forest. It was utterly quiet, peaceful and tranquil for our entire stay. The house is about a 15-minute drive from downtown Lake Placid, and it's only a few minutes from access to the Ausable River in Wilmington, which was great for heading down there for a quick visit after dinner to go fishing or to just monkey around by the river. We brought our bikes, and we all had a good time biking on the Flume Trail system, which is also only a couple minutes from the house.... and it's free!

Lynne was very responsive and helpful in the weeks leading up to our trip, offering great suggestions to us on various things to do.

If we come back to the Adirondacks for another vacation, we will absolutely come back to this house. We loved this place, and from start to finish, our vacation was amazing.

VistaView is the 'real deal'...a cut above.

  • 5 of 5

Since you have taken the effort to the explore HomeAway website, my guess is that you are a little more than particular about the places that you prefer to vacation and that you should expect to find more than just an overpriced hotel room or an embellished home bio when researching vacation homes.

HomeAway, simply put, does not disappoint the distinguishing traveller and, although it is cliche’, is truly the ‘real deal’.

Our family has been vacationing in the Lake Placid area for almost 20 years now and I will admit that it does take time to narrow down a short-list of gratifying vacation home stays and I have to say that VistaView rates, for me, at the pinnacle of affordable yet luxurious experiences. Of course, the experience is enhanced when the vacation homeowners are highly personable, communicative, flexible and engaged in making sure that the details of your stay are taken care of. Lynne and Robin exemplify this. They have always made us feel that ‘mi casa es su casa’ and cheerfully make sure that all of our needs are met.

As for the ‘new home’, this one is unmatched if you are genuinely looking for some solice while have the ‘dream views’ that you always look for in a vacation home.

In fact, all three levels of the home have views of Whiteface – the top two floors being a magnificent panorama.

The home throughout, as we have come to expect from Lynne and Robin, is top-notch and meticulously decorated in authentic Adirondack detail yet far from lacking in electronic amenities.

I agree with the first reviewer that VistaView features a really unique floor plan with the bedrooms on the landing level and the kitchen/living/porch areas upstairs.

This may be a challenge if you are ‘stair challenged’. This, however, does provide the elevation needed for the exceptional views of Whiteface.

VistaView really is a few short miles away from Lake Placid downtown life so I like to think of it as staying downtown in NYC and travelling uptown for the nightlife and entertainment…the best of both worlds!

We will be undoubtedly returning to VistaView for years to come and hope y’all don’t scoop my vacation availability, LOL . This home will certainly book up fast.

Perfect place!

  • 5 of 5

My family had a wonderful stay at this new and beautifully furnished home. The house features a really nice floor plan with the bedrooms on the landing level and the kitchen/living/porch areas upstairs. We enjoyed the views of Whiteface from the porch and all the local attractions nearby. Its fairly close to Lake Placid but has the feel of really being away from things. Lynne, the owner, was very easy to set things up with and a pleasure to deal with. All I can say is we all want to come back again soon!
