About Suzanne Haynes
My famliy and I are originally from Florida and are naturally drawn to the water and boating. But the spectacular beauty of WA, has us hooked. Coupeville and our home speaks to these two very different settings-to be able to have water views and go boating under the backdrop of the Olympic and Cascade Mountains is truly stunning. We love all the outdoor activities Whidbey Island has to offer, but even more the family memories we have made just relaxing in our home.
Why Suzanne Haynes chose Coupeville
We chose Coupeville for its charm and seaside feel. My husband grew up in coastal CT and the town itself really reflects this past. To feel so far away, yet only an hour and half from downtwon Seattle was also a big draw for us. We love Ebey's Landing and think Deception Pass is one of the prettiest places we have ever seen.
What makes this House unique
Our home is 2 blocks from historic downtown Coupeville, allowing us convenience, yet the home itself is so quaint and hsitoric we feel miles from anywhere, like we have stepped back in time. The access to the boat ramp and public park across the street have been very helpful. We love taking our coffee and dog early in the morning down to the waterfront and strolling on the beach.

Charming weekend getaway!
This historic home in the heart of Coupeville with views of the water was the perfect place for a relaxing weekend. The light-filled rooms gleamed with warmth even on a stormy winter day. Walk to artisan bake shops or cook a late brunch in the remodeled kitchen. We can't wait to go back.
Comfy, Lovely & Livable Space in Walkable Coopville
Thank you, Suzanne! This place truly feels like a home, in all the best ways. There are a myriad of small touches that make the place one of a kind--- the useful mudroom off the kitchen, the antique cabinet re-purposed as a kitchen island, the soft surprise of small, tasteful stars that glow on the ceiling when lights go out in the kids room, the family photos in the hall.
As a lover of color, I was struck again and again how the thoughtful color choices shifted beautifully with the light, and connected rooms together while still giving each it's own flavor.
The kitchen! -- both lovely and very easy to *really* cook in. The space is fantastic for making meals with others & having chit-chatters hanging out without getting in the way.
The back yard is also a nice space to hang out, with a sunny deck, and a spacious outdoor table situated in a more shady location.
Throughout the home, the space is so thoughtfully utilized and decorated. It's a smaller house that truly lives large.
Close walk to downtown. Cute, clean and host was wonderful!
The home is lovely with character. Walk to downtown is a nice easy stroll. The home was clean and had all the essentials. Suzanne was extremely helpful answering questions prior to our visit and very accommodating for our little family (toddler and baby). Look forward to a return trip!
Great Home a few quirks
This house is a great location for a Whidbey Island get away. The owners obviously love to spend time there and I can see why!
However...the house was a little to lived in for a vacation rental we were paying for. The dirty ladies underwear and tampons in the top drawer of the bedroom, toiletries in the bathroom and food in fridge/freezer. Its also for sale and we had a visit from an agent. Some of those things are more acceptable than others but them all combined was a bit much to give five stars.
We had a great time. The rental was the perfect size for our group and we loved that we could walk everywhere in town. Coupeville was a beautiful town. We definitely enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed the farmers markets, local views, deer and shops. The owner made arrangements for a pack and play for our toddler. The pictures dont do the space justice. Wonderful rental!
Charming historical home
Plenty of room for a family gathering. It was great to be able to walk to Knead and Feed, the wharf and Christopher's. Accommodating host.
