A wonderful house in an incredibly interesting neighborhood.
My wife, my dog, and I loved this cottage from the minute we arrived. We stayed two months in winter and got to know many people in near-by homes but also ventured out to downtown, the islands, and fascinating historic sites. The cottage has everything you could need and has been renovated and well maintained. It is kitty-corner from the historic green which provides space for dogs to run and people to meet. The streets around the cottage all end with water views of the Inland Waterway, and are lined by huge, ancient live oaks festooned with Spanish Moss. Delicious restaurants, museums, fascinating shops, and a fitness center are only a ten minute walk away. The owners provide a free pass to Hunting Island State Park and the cottage is provided with an endless supply of consumables like paper towels and coffee filters. Internet is reliable and strong; television and DVD player are easy to use. Decor is totally charming. Plenty of room for guests. Small but sunny backyard. To say it's in the heart of the historic district is an understatement. The surrounding area teems with beautiful mansions, some on the historic register, most listed in guides to Beaufort. The novels of Pat Conroy (who used to live around the corner) and the movies made from them turned two nearby mansions into characters in those movies. If our schedules permitted we'd rent 302 King Street again, without question.
Perfect Cottage on the Point
I love, love, love this house! This is the second year I've stayed here for a five-week stint, just for a change of scene from my home in DC. I was able to work remotely (good wifi, separate office space) and just enjoy the life in Beaufort. Its location in the historic district is amazing, just a block and a half to the water to watch the sun rise, and about an 8 minute walk into town for shopping, restaurants (there are some amazing food options on Beaufort) and the waterfront park for the porch swings and the sunset. The house has pretty much anything you need, and is so comfortable. I got so much joy sitting on the front porch after work, just watching the friendly neighbors walk by. I enjoyed my time in Beaufort, but honestly think this cottage was my favorite part and the main reason why I came back for a second time.
Idyllic place for a month away
This little oasis in the heart of Old Point was a lovely place to spend a month. Within walking distance of just about everything downtown, the location couldn't be more perfect. Nestled between lovely historic homes and under the canopy of amazing Spanish moss covered trees, there is no better place for a morning cup of coffee or a quiet spot to work, read, or write. My pups loved the fenced in backyard, and there was plenty of space inside the house for them, myself, and a guest or two. Ann, the owner, had everything ready for me, and the house was well-stocked with linens, essentials like toilet paper and paper towels, and basic cookware. Other than groceries, there was no need for me to buy anything during my stay. Thank you for such a fabulous experience!
Great location in the historic district of Beaufort surrounded by 200-300 year old Oak trees.
Quaint cottage in a lovely area of Beaufort, within walking distance of downtown shops & restaurants. The cottage had plenty of room, closet space and good bathrooms. It did need a bit of maintenance & yard clean up, but was still fine. We enjoyed sitting on the screened porch after a long day of sight seeing & looking at homes for sale. If we had the opportunity to stay here again, we definitely would. We were lucky that Ann let us rent for a week, usually the home is a monthly rental, but there was a week gap. We thank Ann for letting us enjoy her home.
Charming Cottage in the Sweetest Part of Town
This cottage is cute and clean and well stocked with everything we needed for our stay. In the Old Point, the front porch is great for sipping a cool drink, reading a book and conversing with the very friendly neighbors.
The owners were responsive before and during our time there.
Thank you for sharing your home.
Charming cottage in the Old Point area of town. Centrally located, very clean and on a beautiful street. Walking distance to shops and restaurants.
