About the property

House, 5 Bedrooms, 5 Baths, (Sleeps 10)

LOCATED IN BEAVER CREEK - 117 Wayne Creek Road

I think you will love my home, 'Point of View' in which you can host a really fun house party with friends or invite families with kids. You will find that the entertaining spaces are beautifully furnished with B and B Italia furniture, a black baby grand piano, fantastic art and a wet bar for mixing fun cocktails! And all of the entertaining spaces (living room, bar room and dining room) enjoy spectacular views.

You will enjoy views from all of the entertaining spaces through dramatic floor to ceiling glass doors. You can lie in bed in the Master Bedroom and watch the 'snow cat parade' on the mountain in the wee hours of the morning or just simply relax and watch it snow. And from the outdoor undercover hot tub, you have a front row seat on the firework displays each Thursday night and on New Year's Eve. Have a glass of "Dom" while watching from the hot tub!

And if you are in the mood for games, you will enjoy having a wood burning fireplace while watching a ball game, playing charades or just enjoying a glass of wine on a cold winter night.

If cooking is your 'thing' the kitchen is well 'outfitted'!. And while you are cooking, you can put 'the kids' or your friends at the 'eat-in' counter to keep you company. You will be able to seat up to 12 at the dining room table (which is open to the kitchen).

Each bedroom is significant in size and there is a bunk room down stairs where you can 'stash' your kids! All bedrooms have tv's and down comforters. Closet space is also ample and every bathroom has a tub and shower.

If you are coming out in the summer, get ready for the superb outdoor spaces at Point of View, where NO MOSQUITOS ARE ALLOWED!!!! You can enjoy breakfast or lunch for four or six on a dining porch off the kitchen and there is an outdoor dining room off of the living room as well. After dinner you can enjoy star gazing on the terrace while continuing your conversations.

When you are ready to go to the Beaver Creek Village, simply call the concierge shuttle service. They will whisk you from the driveway straight up to the mountain to the base of Centennial or Strawberry Park for skiing, shopping, ice skating or for a spa appointment at Allegria! And at night, when you want to go to Chop House or Splendido or Grouse Mountain for great music or a delicious dinner, your shuttle will be only a phone call away to take you to and from!

Unlike most rentals that have very basic appointments, Point of View is a beautifully designed contemporary house that was carefully put together by the owner.

About Elizabeth Nichols

I am the CEO of an online retail shopping site called TAIGAN, noted for it's curated collection of shops, designers and beautiful things. I have furnished my home in Beaver Creek with beautiful things and look forward to sharing them with you. I am a discriminating traveler and have stayed in some of the most amazing properties. My favorite hotels are The Opposite House in Beijing, Villa San Michele in Fiesole, The Fasano in Rio and The Carlyle in New York. While I would love to rent a vacation home, none have ever satisfied me as most I have found are rather dull and boring!!!! Point of View is neither dull or boring!

Elizabeth Nichols purchased this house in 1994

Why Elizabeth Nichols chose Northwest

Great family ski area but really fun place for an adult get away. I have enjoyed taking many friends to the home and watched their kids learn to ski. I have enjoyed holding strategic planning sessions and hosting houseparties here!

What makes this house unique

The views are just simply breathtaking and the house is comfortable and beautiful. Bring along your favorite pianist as there is a baby grand in the living room OR you can simply plug in your music to the sound system to play your favorite tunes.

Mountainside Contemporary

  • 5 of 5

Point of View is a unique, contemporary design that the owner has furnished with lots of abstract and contemporary art. Great for entertaining, it has lots of open space with nice views through the many windows, and several patios/decks outside. The kitchen is well furnished and the big, long dining room table is perfect for a large group. We also enjoyed the covered hot tub with it's private view of the mountain. Be prepared for stairs...because the house is on the uphill side of the street, the main level of the house and three of the four bedrooms are up at least one level. Also, there is no separate bath room other than bath rooms for each bedroom...because of the stairs, a minor inconvenience. Just off the main road between Avon and the Beaver Creek Resort, this is a great location for getting anywhere in the Vail Valley. The owner and the house manager were very responsive and a pleasure to work with.

Wonderful Trip!

  • 5 of 5

Our group (three couples) had the pleasure of staying at "Point of View" for five days and had a wonderful time there! The home is nicely located and very quiet, yet not that far from town or the base of Beaver Creek when you are ready to get out for some fun. Our trip was over the summer and this gave us the opportunity to take full advantage of the wonderful outdoor deck and patio areas. We also enjoyed the hot tub and its outstanding views of the surrounding mountains. We found each bedroom to be very private, thus affording each couple some private/away time as needed. Common areas were open, well furnished and perfect for hanging out or cooking and enjoying a large meal. (The large kitchen dining table was perfect for a large group meal.) We also appreciated the sound system/stereo setup that allowed us to pipe music throughout the house. Plenty of garage storage for bikes/cars and a couple of washer/dryers for use. Honestly, this was a 10+ as far as lodging goes--great place and we hope to be back again some day! (Owner was very friendly/great to deal with as well.)

5 Star Experience

  • 5 of 5

We just got back from our ski holiday in Beaver Creek. The lack of snow this season was irrelevant since we had such a fantastic place to stay. Point of View is everything it is advertised to be and more…..whether for a great couple’s retreat (which we were) or for a fantastic family gathering…it is the perfect place. The space is amazing with big windows and great views bringing the out-of-doors inside.

The rooms are large and well decorated with great sheets and fluffy towels and the art is fantastic. We had a pianist in our group so we especially loved having a baby grand in the living room where we could enjoy cocktails by the fire and hear great music. We greatly enjoyed “cooking-in” and while the kitchen is not huge, it is has everything you could possible need and is perfect for group participation - it worked very well for our group of 10. The hot tub is simply the best ever!

The resort transportation came promptly to pick us up to ski and is a great convenience….we were whisked up to the base of Centennial chair lift where we had checked our skis…so very little schlepping.

We were very careful with everything at this beautiful home as it has obviously been put together with care by the owner….we wanted to make sure she would let us come back next season!!!! We actually have been discussing coming for a stay at Point of View over the summer as we have heard that people come to the Vail Valley for the winter but stay after they have been there for the summer.

Point of View was a true pleasure for our group.

Great House

  • 5 of 5

We spent 5 days in December 2011 at Point of View and it was terrific. The home is very spacious, beautifully decorated, clean, and well maintained. The art is terrific. This home easily accommodated our two families consisting of 3 adults and 6 kids (teenagers to twenty-somethings), with beds to spare. We didn't attempt to ski in or out because the big snows had not arrived yet, but it appears it is possible to do now. We used the dial-a-ride to get to the mountain, and it is prompt and delivers you right to the lift. In fact we were on the very first chair when the mountain opened on Christmas Day. The hot tub is outside yet covered by a roof, has a great view yet is very private, and has speakers so you can listen to whatever music is playing in the house. The sound system in the house is great, with speakers strategically located. There is a beautiful piano, and plenty of games and puzzles to enjoy. The owner made it very easy for us, and was a pleasure to work with. The table was set for us when we arrived and the owner left us some welcome treats. The listing description and pictures accurately represent the home's appearance and amenities. I would recommend this home to family and friends. We visit Beaver Creek at least once a year, and have enjoyed our stays at the Kiva, the Charter, Beaver Creek Lodge, etc., but this was completely different because of the spaciousness and privacy it offered, which was worth the tradeoff of not being right in the village. We never waited more than 10 minutes for the shuttle to take us to the village after we called for a ride, so it wasn't an issue. We look forward to returning.

Point of View

  • 5 of 5

My family and friends just returned from Beaver Creek, and I must say that our stay at Point of View was fabulous!!! We have traveled to Beaver Creek, Aspen, Vail, and Bachelor Gulch for the past (9) years and I must say that Point of View exceeded our expectations. The house is extremely spacious and very well maintained... the artwork is incredible. The photos accurately reflect the appearance and amenities. The owner was an absolute joy to work with, and there were no hidden issues with the property. We loved the covered hot tub and the sound system throughout. The owner even had place settings at the dining table… very welcoming. We loved Point of View and will definitely return next year. Simply lovely….
