Charming cottage in the woods

  • 4 of 5

The cottage is charmingly decorated. I felt at home surrounded by lots of books and sounds of nature. The upstairs rooms were comfortable and filled with daylight, downstairs, where the kitchen is was a bit dark and had a funny odor. Personally, I was a bit disappointed not to have access to the washer/dryer, although this misunderstanding was my fault for not looking closely in the listing. Also, it should be noted that cell phone reception at the house is spotting to none existent and it is a drive to anywhere for shops or restaurants. Linda was quick to reply to my inquiries and polite; however, I had a feeling that she is strict on her policies: for example, no early check in or late check out, no exceptions to what the 'rules' are. It is not that I asked, yet she made this clear in her communication. These things noted, it was a quiet, comfortable place to stay in the Hudson Valley (and very near to Omega, if you happen to be attending a retreat.)

Lovely, quiet and comfortable!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of five stayed at the Clinton Corners cottage over Labor Day weekend. We frequently visit the area and love the quiet while still having activities and good restaurants close by. The cottage is right in a central spot whereby Rhinebeck, Millbrook, Red Hook are all about 20 minutes away. We had dinners out and in (thanks to Rhinebeck farmers market and great kitchen equipment!), had plenty to do during the day, even enjoyed the calm of a rainy day, reading and relaxing. The house is so lovely with pretty decor, beautiful and tasteful art, and such comfortable beds and couches. The kids played a ton in the yard, looked for frogs in the stream and took turns in the hammock. Would definitely return, it's the kind of place we could see being delightful at any time of year - fall foliage, holiday season, snowy wintertime, etc. Hope to go back!

We have returned to this wonderful cottage every fall for four years. It's clean and comfortable and charming. We love the surrounding countryside too. I highly recommend it for a secluded get away.

A sweet place in the country

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely home in a very tranquil spot. The rooms are filled with original art and great books, and the backyard has beautiful plants designed to attract butterflies, which they do in droves. Two very nice bedrooms, and a very nice main sitting area upstairs (the kitchen is on the lower floor). Highly recommend.
