Great loft!

  • 5 of 5

This was a really great place to stay. So close to the Gaslamp district - we walked everywhere comfortably!

Lots of space to sleep and I really liked that the doors had a keypad lock. It allowed my friends and I to go and come easily.

There was a lot of noise from the upstairs neighbours, sounded like they were moving furniture at 7am on a Saturday, which was not fun! Maybe suggest quiet-ish hours just to be respectful of each other.

Overall it was great though!

Great location and very roomy loft.

  • 4 of 5

We read the reviews and came prepared for the noisy upstairs with some earplugs so had no issues sleeping.

We really liked the garage-door-style patio. It was nice sitting inside with a big breeze blowing through.

Short walk to the convention center and all the night life of Gaslamp without being directly in the thick of it and dealing with the noise that comes from that.

Tony with the Cat Cafe was very nice; be sure to stop there for a visit as well.

Only reason for 4 stars is there are upgrades needed to make it a 5 star. The floor is uneven, so be aware if you have any difficulty walking on uneven surfaces.

We plan on seeing if the place will be available for the convention next year. Would definitely rent again!

Not at all what I was expecting...

  • 1 of 5

Location was perfect. Noise from street and upstairs was almost unbearable. One futon is broken, both bikes did not work, very disappointed in that. I had even called about It prior to my arrival. Ira was very nice and said that they worked but if there were issues I could call and we could work it out with the local bike shop. I definitely did not want to spend my limited vacation doing bike repairs. The shower is infinitely too small for an adult. A bit sketchy from the outside. Gate locks are not in good working order. Place has an Odor, wondering if it is mold. First night had homeless sleeping in tent in front of the gate. Window covering is sparse. As I was alone the first night, I actually wished I had pepper spray or something. Very surprised that I felt that way. Overall, location was perfect but I won't stay here again.

This was a great experience. The location could not be any better. The owner did a great job having everything set up and ready for us. Easy access and parking. This loft made our two days in San Diego amazing! 5 stars!

Excellent Gaslamp experience

  • 4 of 5

This loft-style condo was an excellent choice for my trip. Overall I loved it, though it could use a little updating/TLC. Location is perfect; PetCo Park, tens of bars/restaurants, Starbucks, Horton Plaza, 24 Hour Fitness, Ralph's, Seaport Village are all within walking distance. Furnishings are sufficient and comfortable; could easily sleep 6. Kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and appliances.

Pros:

LOCATION

Open floor plan

Kitchen

Coded entry system--no keys necessary

Parking spot off the street (don't bring a big car or a truck; very small spot)

Patio furnished w/BBQ

Cons:

Weak/Spotty wi-fi

One couch has a busted leg

Bikes provided (Pro), but both busted

Gate to access parking spot is a bit janky--2 person job to get in/out

View of street blocked from the patio by fence tarp

Don't want to harp on the cons too much; it was a great spot and we had a great time. Owner was easy to communicate with and we would definitely come back.

The property is three easy walking blocks to The San Diego Convention Center, Grand Hyatt, only two blocks from the Marriot Marina, only 24 hour Ralphs Grocery Store in the Gaslamp/Marina District, one block from the Gaslamp and a short bike ride to the amazing beaches of Coronado Island. Further, the unit is only 1.8 miles to the SD Zoo, an 8.5 miles to Sea World. Personally, one of my favorite things to do is ride the bikes provided, at no cost, about 10 minutes to the ferry or water taxi and go to Coronado to enjoy the beaches or just cruise the boardwalk.
