About the property

Cottage, 2 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 6)

Seaside Cottage is a private getaway on the ocean near the quaint Willow Point Village in Campbell River. Relax on the deck or in the hot tub and enjoy the vista of ocean wildlife and marine traffic.

The living room has a gas fireplace, comfortable seating, and a great view.

The two bedrooms each have a comfy queen bed with feather duvets and luxury cotton linens, as does the queen sofa bed in the living room.

The kitchen is fully equipped including dishwasher, fridge with freezer, microwave, coffee maker, & kettle for tea.

On the deck is a BBQ, table and chairs, and lounge furnishings.

Fishing is great in Campbell River, we operate a guiding business with very comfortable heated cruiser style boats and excellent guides. Fishing is fantastic June through October. It is also possible to fish from the shore in front of the cottage or on many nearby rivers and lakes.

We are lucky to have original art by our local artist Brian Scott in the cottage. His gallery and studio is a short drive from the cottage and is often open to the public.

There is a fabulous local vineyard nearby called Beaufort that has a tasting room and you are able to purchase your selection and enjoy it on a huge furnished lawn overlooking the vineyard and the Beaufort mountains Enjoy a picnic with many local delicacies offered in the tasting room at farmers market prices.

Food possibilities are great in Campbell River. The Harbour Grill Restaurant overlooking the yachts at Discovery Marina is amazing, The Coast Hotel has a fabulous restaurant featuring Friday night Prime Rib Buffet and wonderful menus for breakfast (try the Crab Cake Eggs Benedict), lunch - try the Brewery Sandwich, and dinner - Rack of Lamb is unbeatable, Dick's Fish & Chips is on a waterside deck, April Point on Quadra Island is a good choice with a complimentary boat ride across from Painters Lodge, Koto's Japanese Restaurant is an all time favorite, Fuisili Grill for good home made pasta and a great menu

Mount Washington half hour away has some of the best snow in the world for skiing and in summer has many boardwalks through alpine meadows and lakes.

Storey Creek Golf Course is fabulous with the greens winding through trees and frequent deer, Sequoia Springs is another favorite 18 hole golf course.

The Campbell River Museum is wonderful, I've had people come back and thank me for sending them there. It's a great presentation of local history and art, don't miss the gift shop. The Campbell River Art Gallery has ever changing exhibits.

Campbell River is a favorite destination of many return visitors and Seaside Cottage is often the highlight of their stays.

Guestbook comments from the owner

My wife and I spend a wonderful weekend in mid September at the seaside cottage. The experience was remarkable. It was a weekend of total relaxation and serenity. The cottage had all the amenities of home and contributed to a most comfortable stay. Cathy and Rob were excellent hosts and they ensured that all of our needs were met. special thanks to Rob for providing a guided tour of the area and demonstrating fishing techniques

Quiet and convenient

  • 5 of 5

We were really sorry we were not staying longer at the Seaside Cottage. We only had 2 nights, and should have planned to stay longer and relax a bit. We got a good tip from the Visitors Center (EXTREMELY helpful) to shop at Thrifty Mart, which had great selection, especially smoked salmon. Decent small grocery next door, also, so we had dinner in and enjoyed the view.

Cathy was very helpful and had good stories about CR.

Wonderful Place - will definitely return

  • 5 of 5

Had a lovely time at Seaside Cottage. Beautiful scenery - best view ever. Charming cottage with everything you could possibly want or need. Hot tub was a real treat for me as I had never been in one. Totally private, quiet and the cottage was spotlessly clean.

Loved Campbell River - really lovely town with friendly, helpful people.

Even the Locals Stay Here to Get Away From It All!

  • 5 of 5

This lovely cottage was even better than expected. We had plenty of space with 3 adults and 2 teens as Rob provided us with a spare mattress. 6 people would be possible but on the cozy side. We stayed in the newer cabin that Rob built which had his lovely cabinetry finishes and Cathy's tasteful decor and comfortable furniture. I would encourage them to add more interior pictures to the listing (and take out the fishing pictures) to get a better sense of the space. Very clean and beautifully maintained. We loved eating freshly grilled oysters and salmon on the outside deck and taking in the view of Discovery Passage with the tugs and the cruise ships going by. Pair of resident bald eagles brought much entertainment. Coffee shop, grocery store, liquor store, fruit market, lovely gift shop along with 3 restaurants within very short walking distance. About a 8 mile paved walkway runs along the coast next to the cabin - excellent for walking/running/biking.

If you are really into cooking, you would find the place a bit sparse on equipment, such as only one frying pan and no garlic press (for the french bread to go with the oysters, of course), but we certainly got by.

Do check out the Visitor's Center in Campbell River if you are new to the area. In addition to Rob providing great information, the gals at the Center are also helpful with tips on tours, maps, etc.

My only complaint is that we did not stay longer! I would definitely recommend this property & would stay again.

perfect equipped cottage, helpful and nice hosts

  • 5 of 5

It was the second time in this cottage, so we knew Cathy and Rob as the perfect hosts.

The communication via mail and phone is perfect, they organized a lot of things in advance.

It is intresting to chat with them and they are very intrested in helping the guests to make their stay as comfortable and interesting as possible.

The cottage itself is equipped with everthing you will need, including new washing-machine and dryer and ending in the evening in the big hot tub at the wooden deck after dinner from the big gas-bbq.

Everything is very clean and you will feel like home.

The deck is close to the shore and you can see a lot of wildlife and sometimes cruiseships passing by.

Rob also organizes fishing-tours, we did it both times we stayed there ansd it was amazing!!

Next time when we will be on the island we will stay there again.

Thank you for the nice times we had at your place.
