Exceeded my expectations
I was here for my brother's bachelor with 9 guys total. I really didn't think it was going to hold us all based on the photos, but with reading the other reviews, I gave it a shot. It was perfect size, kitchen was a bit small, but the back yard was way bigger than I thought. Also, Horizontals down the road was a great little bar, with really fun people. I hope to stay here again some time. Also, Ray was great, and responded almost immediately every time I reached out.
I would recommend this place to anyone.
This place exceeded our expectations
Ray the owner was great, the cabin was spacious and clean. We had a group of kids w/ us for baseball and Ray was understanding and accommodating. Would definitely come back.
We enjoyed our stay at Ray's cabin! The lake was beautiful. Thanks for a great weekend!
cozy cabin for a weekend getaway
This was a great spot for a quick weekend trip! Close enough to Chicago that you aren't spending all day in the car, but remote enough that it feels like you're really getting away. The cabin was nice - cozy inside, but plenty of space in the yard to spread out. And the hosts were very welcoming.
Great for family celebration!
After days of motels, Ray's cabin was a great place to relax, our last stop on a month-long trip ending with a family gathering to celebrate my daughter's college graduation. We had 13 adults and 7 children for a Sunday bbq, The skies cleared and weather warmed so we could use the large back yard for the kids, and between the patio chairs outside and the spacious living room, we had ample seating for everyone. A great time for everyone, and Ray is probably still finding nerf darts hidden in the grass.
All the beds were comfortable and hubby commandeered the comfy recliner on the couple of rainy cold days we had. The kitchen, though small, was large enough to cook all our side dishes for the bbq as well as meals for the four of us who stayed overnight.
The yard is beautiful, and after weeks if being in the dry, rocky West, it was nice to have a plush green Wisconsin lawn.
I will definitely think of renting this cabin again when we return to visit our Racine families. In warmer weather the closeness to the lake would be wonderful! Ray was a great host and this stay was a great end to our 5,000-mile trip. Thanks!
Just What We Needed
As others have said, the pictures don’t do justice to the space and comfort. We needed a weekend out of the city and this cabin is a great spot to relax. The giant yard was an added perk for our kids and dog. Would recommend for anyone looking for a cozy getaway or in warmer weather for time on the lake.
