Family enjoyed the stay.
Exactly what I expected for a Martha's Vineyard cottage
If your not looking for anything fancy, just a cozy beach cottage, this might be the place. If you're looking for elegant, look someplace else. Everything about this has a beach cottage feel. The furniture is old but comfortable. The deck is great for relaxing and the screen porch was a wonderful alternative when it rained. It's a little over a mile from town (Vineyard Haven) so we often walked. The two bedrooms have two single beds each, plus there is a fold out in the living room. The host was very accessible to answer questions by email or text and usually replied within minutes. Over all we enjoyed our stay.
perfect MV stay
My husband and I traveled with our grandsons (ages 11 and 7) our annual visit to MV and rented this "cozy cottage". Once we opened the windows and started the ceiling fans, it was great for sleeping; warm by day but we had an unusually hot week and who stays inside when you have an island to visit!! Centrally located and just about perfect. Well equipped and we all loved the screened in porch. Basement was musky but it's the beach!! Kids didn't mind and they used the ping-pong table downstairs! Met our needs and owner Tim was great and attentive -- especially when we locked ourselves out and neighbors came to our rescue!!
Cozy and typical New England cottage in a nice neighborhood
Just right in size and amenities with a nice deck and screen porch. Bonus basement space complete with laundry and ping ping table! convenient to the bike path, public transportation and eateries. The cottage and experiences were ideal!
Great hosts that were a pleasure to work with- we were fortunate to have found them!
Perfect for our family
Just returned from our stay, this home was perfect for our family of 4, the house is cute, cozy, not exactly modern, but exceptionally clean!!!! We particularly loved the screened in porch to sit quietly, relax, and unplug. The house is a minutes walk to the bus stop, and a short drive to town. We would certainly rent this home again! It's a gem!
great location to get everywhere BUT!
the cottage location is marvelous for getting everywhere, the excellent bus service a short walk away makes that the most inexpensive item of the stay on MVI. The island is a wonderful place to visit. I cannot recommend the cottage itself as I was ill the first 3 days from the mold in the basement and on basement door. There is no air conditioning and we arrived to temps in high 80s. So we went and bought a room air conditioning unit(which we left for the owner) , we closed off the bedroom with access to basement and I was able to enjoy the remainder of our week. Cleaning of the basement and treatment of the mold issue needs to be done before renting anymore.
I just woke to read your review of our cottage and have to say I'm quite disappointed. While having a cottage on an Island comes with dealing with dampness and moisture I have to say your claims of mold are quite exaggerated. We had 5 renters previous to you, the last being the week before your arrival, and not one complained of any mold situation. In fact you'll see that all previous reviews are quite complimentary. You were there during a very hot and humid week and perhaps there was something else in the air that made you ill or something else entirely. We arrived the day of your departure to check on the cottage for the next renter and were just puzzled by your note about the "bad air". However, we were more dismayed with the mess you left us to clean up after. Sorry things didn't work out.
