Our family really enjoyed our stay at East Cove! Dennis and Emily were very responsive and the property is lovely. The view of the lake is terrific and the dock was great for boats. The house has everything you need, and is very close to downtown Greenville. We highly recommend it!
Thank you for your kind comments and hope to see you again.
Our family of 11 plus dinner guests ranged in ages from 2 to 86 and everyone had a good time at East Cove. We like to cook and it was a pleasure to have a kitchen big enough for several people to work in at once. The oven baked our homemade bread and pies. The table and counter provided seating for all and the deck off the kitchen made for al fresco dining. It is a short walk or paddle to town where there are many fun stores, including ice cream, a drug store with a soda fountain, a crepe wagon and 3 used book stores. Don’t miss Kineo Coffee Station and Laurie Muzzy’s wonderful baking up the hill near the Supermarket https://www.facebook.com/kineocoffeestation/. A morning of trolling with Larry Farrington, a story teller as well as a fishing guide, yielded a meal of lake trout and salmon and unforgettable memories for 5 grandchildren http://www.fishmoosehead4fun.com/ . Even if you don’t climb Mount Kineo take the ferry to the Island, walk the flat paths and visit the snack bar. Be sure to visit the Memorial and wreckage of the 1963 B-52 crash on Elephant Mountain. We wished we could have stayed another week to do and see what else the area offers. The Schneider/Stockdale family.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our home away from home! This home had all the amenities that we needed including close access to downtown Greenville. We all felt comfortable and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The 3 children (5-9-11) really enjoyed the bunk/trundle bed. The kitchen sink was amazing!
Our pontoon fit perfectly at the dock and the gentle slope was easy for all. We enjoyed kayaking, swimming, fishing and watching the sea planes land and take off as we watched from the dock. The little ones loved feeding the ducks and night snorkeling to see all the crayfish.
Some hiked Mt. Kineo and some of us explored and were in awe of the B-52 crash site....worth the drive to get there.
Our family enjoyed our nightly campfires looking for satellites and stars while having a contest on who could make the best s'mores!
Your management team was helpful, accommodating and friendly....we truly thank them! We look forward to next summer when we can once again make this a family tradition at your beautiful home.
Thank you for your review. It was wonderful to meet your family, and we look forward to seeing you all next year!
What a lovely waterfront home in a very private setting and intown location in Greenville, Maine.
Thank you for opening your beautiful home for our enjoyment. We were able to experience all of the intown activities of Fly-In Weekend and from the dock we watched as the float planes passed by your place. Our family found your intown location a great base for experiencing all that the Moosehead Area has to offer. We walked into town for shopping and dining and hiked Mt. Kineo and Big Moose Mountain, what amazing views! We dined at the Blair Hill Inn and saw the most amazing sunset, made some new friends and had a ton of laughs at the Stress Free and the Black Frog. There is so much to do right from your door. Boating, hiking, fishing, shopping, kayaking, moose watching or just relaxing by the lake.
In the evening we enjoyed a bottle of wine as we watched the sunset from the balcony off the Master Bedroom Suite and relaxed in the jacuzzi. For a peaceful end to the day we listened to the loons as we fell alseep.
The kids got to enjoy the stars, tell stories and make s'mores in the fire pit. They spent most of the day fishing from the dock and playing on the shore that we barely heard from them all day and are already asking when are we coming back. It was so nice to be able to launder their clothes and towels in the laundry room so that we didn't have a ton to clean when we got home.
Your place offers so much space, 2 Living Areas and 3 decks with a view of the lake, 3 1/2 baths and an expansive lawn with a very private setting that our party of 10 felt we had the place to ourselves. We were able to get away from all the laughter and chaos in the upstairs Master Bedroom Suite.
Looking towards the winter we see your place as an awesome base camp for snowmobiling.Being on the lake we can access most of the ITS trail system and dining downtown. At the end of the day we could get warmed by the fire in the Great Room, watch a movie and the snow fall.
Again, thanks for sharing your lovely home, it was money well spent! We will be returning and telling our friends about the great time we had staying at your home.
