About William Garber

The owner is a fourth-generation Virginian, president of the local Regal/Stingray dealership, licensed 100 ton Sea Captain, father of two and proud grandfather of three. With immaculate attention to detail and cleanliness, he not only maintains, but upgrades constantly. Available for any issue, concern or question, you are welcomed!

William Garber purchased this house in 2004

Why William Garber chose Chesapeake Bay

Centered between Washington, DC and Richmond, this Colonial Beach gem is a hidden refuge that provides a quick getaway, yet a complete change of pace. Nicknamed the Playground on the Potomac, the town is a short walk or drive away with restaurants, the Pier, and the Riverboat Off Track Betting.

Full of history, George Washington was born near here at what is now the George Washington Birthplace National Monument. Alexander Hell maintained a summer home in Colonial Beach, the "Bell House." Sloan Wilson, author of "The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit," retired and died here.

Perfect for any season, nap in the hammock in the spring, swim, fish and grill in the summer, tour the fall foliage, and curl up next to the fireplace in the winter.

What makes this house unique

Little touches will give you big opportunities to make the most of your time here. Between the waterfall pool, swings, hammocks, outdoor cooking station with propane grill, retro refrigerator, and even imbedded lighted countertops will make you fall in love with this private refuge.

(P.S.- The sunsets are the best kept secret- don't tell!)

Ridenour Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed your home so much, thank you for sharing. It had everything

to accommodate all of our needs, as we ranged from ages 4 to the 70's.

We all enjoyed the dock and pool. Fishing was excellent, we caught a little of everything and it was so peaceful for us late fishermen. The home was very spacious and supplied with everything you would possible need. A wonderful place to spend a vacation with a family.

Great vacation.

  • 5 of 5

The house and landscape were beautiful. We had a great vacation, Our grandsons loved the fishing and crabbing. They spent most of their time on the dock. The pool was beautiful with a waterfall at the one end. The only drawback to our vacation was nothing to do in town. Many restaurants were closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Great Time Had By All!

  • 5 of 5

We recently rented Bill's house for a week and had a wonderful time. The house was clean, plenty of open space, bedrooms and we had 7 adults and little ones with us as well! The kitchen was probably the most stocked kitchen we've come across (we've been renting properties since 2011) and there were 2 of them as well. We did have a slight issue with the pool, though no fault of Bill's, and he was on it the same day! That says a lot. Its feels good to rent from people who take pride in satisfying their guests. The kids loved the pool (as did the adults!) and everything you need is only about 5 or 10 minutes away - so convenient. We look forward to coming back and enjoying another family vacation. Thanks Bill!

My family met here from east to west for a family reunion. The place is beautiful, clean and tastefully decorated. We had great weather, warm every day and we sure enjoyed the pool. Mr. Garber was very nice and very helpful. I highly recommend this rental. We want to come back next year!

Great Vacation Home!!!

  • 5 of 5

Everything with this vacation home was great from the time we booked it. The owner gets back to you right away with any questions and we had no trouble booking the home for the week. When we arrived he was here to meet us and went over everything we needed to know. The house was very clean as well as the pool. The views are amazing of the sunrises and sunsets and the pool area and deck have plenty of room to hang out. That is where we spent most of our time. The pier is great and the guys caught some croaker and catfish right off the end of the pier (still need a fishing license just to be safe). We hardly needed to leave the house for anything, although there is a beach area and pier in town. The restaurants in town are great. Wilkersons has been there for ever and we made it there twice this week. Another hidden secret is Denson's grocery on Washington street in town. A must go for lunch or dinner. Just remember you need to wash all the linens before leaving which does take a little time as the washer and dryer are not that big, so don't sleep in too long on the day you leave. There are previous reviews about some issues with the neighbors which we found not to be accurate. We found the neighbors to be very helpful and nice. I believe some may forget this is not Nags Head where every house is a rental but a small, quiet beach town that many people call home. If you are looking for a quiet family vacation then you will not be disappointed with this home!!!!
