The days of Old California come to life in this unique 1927 Spanish-style hacienda, encircled by moss-covered oaks, Monterey pines and lushly landscaped courtyards on a secluded 1/3 acre in Pebble Beach. Newly refurbished with colorful décor, the red-tiled stucco home offers beautiful surroundings and privacy for families with children and a dog.

Less than a mile from to the world-class golf courses, shops and restaurants of Pebble Beach's Spanish Bay, the house is also just a 10-minute drive either to the charming downtowns of Carmel-by-the-Sea or Pacific Grove, both offering shopping, art galleries and antique stores, and 15 minutes by car to Monterey's Cannery Row and the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Newly updated, the 3,192-square-foot main house, with four bedrooms, each with its own full en suite bath, can sleep up to 8 adults, the guest quarters above the garage, available by separate contract and additional charge, can sleep 2 adults.

Stepping through the blue gate into the brick-lined courtyard is like traveling back to an earlier time, with ferns and succulents adding grace notes to the entryway. An open, airy floor plan is found within, with numerous French doors leading from each room into any one of numerous courtyards and patios.

Upon your arrival you will be greeted by complementary wine and cheese, tickets for local wine tasting, local organic coffee to start your mornings and a basket of local information. An assigned concierge vacation house manager is available to assist you during your stay. We have also provided spa amenities in the bathrooms, spa robes and beach gear.

The kitchen adjoins a formal dining room and a generously-sized family room, which also has a large table suitable for meals or playing board games. There is also a separate living room with gas fireplace, providing plenty of conversation areas.

The kitchen's granite counter-tops, new stainless steel appliances and Sub-Zero refrigerator make it easy to fix meals or snacks, and a pass-through from kitchen to family room aids serving and cleanup.

Saltillo tile adorns the kitchen and family room floors, and the colorful family room includes comfortable chairs, sofa, gas fireplace, 50-inch HDTV and Blu-Ray player, and an antique wooden pulpit that has been turned into a focal point for the room, with a red, yellow and navy blue color scheme enhancing Old World style.

In one wing, the master bedroom has a king bed. An adjacent den/bedroom contains a queen Murphy bed with new luxury mattress. Each room has its own private entrance from the courtyard and its own full bath, with black and white subway tile, original pedestal sinks and combo tub/shower, as well as vintage stained glass windows.

Across the central courtyard are two more bedrooms, one with twin canopy beds and the other with a king bed. En suite bathrooms have black and white subway tile, tub/shower combos and pedestal sinks.

Other unique amenities can be found on the grounds, including a peaceful Zen garden, an outdoor seating area with fire pit and picnic table, a shared laundry area with new front-loading washer and dryer, and a two-car garage.

In addition, an apartment over the garage can be rented separately with owner's permission, which sleeps two adults and contains a queen Murphy bed with memory foam topper, a kitchenette with vintage buttercream and brown tile, a full bath and an electric fireplace.

Amazing Stay!

We had a wonderful stay at Espita Mar with our 2 dogs for 2 months. It was incredibly clean, well stocked, and nicely appointed with comfortable furnishings and beautiful artwork. The owners were wonderful and the property management company was responsive to any requests we made. We took walks in the neighborhood and it felt so private and serene in the many courtyards. Would love to come back someday. Thank you!

Our stay at Espita Mar could not have been better. The home was inviting and extremely well appointed. The property is large enough that our party of seven had plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the comfortable furniture. The numerous outside sitting areas were an added treat as we spent a good bit of time enjoying the wonderful weather of Pebble Beach.

The location is great – close enough to walk to Spanish Bay and within minutes of Pacific Grove, Monterrey and Carmel. You can visit a different restaurant for every meal, but if you wish, the kitchen was so well equipped that once you make an initial trip to the grocery you would not have to leave. If you like to cook seafood we highly recommend a trip to Sea Harvest at the Crossroads near Carmel for a great selection of fresh seafood.

Kathleen, the house manager, was extremely attentive and was only a phone call away to handle any questions you may have. We also own a vacation rental home and learned so much from our stay that we plan to incorporate for visitors to our property.

Our every need was anticipated we hope to return again.
