About the property

One bedroom spacious cottage, quiet and serene in front of a lily pond.

The cottage has one spacious bedroom with sitting area, a country style kitchen area, a dining room and a bathroom.

The bedroom itself is about 300 sq ft with a queen size bed, a rattan couch & chair, and a TV & DVD player to enjoy a movie after a day of exploring. There is also wireless and cable internet in the room.

Rainbow Bee Farm Cottage is converted from the tour/education building of our once active honey farm where for the past 20 years we produced a world famous gourmet honey - Rare Hawaiian Organic White Honey. (We recently retired from and sold the honey business.)

If you are interested in learning about bees, Richard ( 30 years a professional beekeeper) is happy to share with you his bee-keeping stories and experience.

Unique, spacious, nice

  • 5 of 5

Hosts were went beyond our expectations. It's not everyone who stays in a former beekeeping education facility (retired beekeeper host) .

Was a bit chilly at night, but once I used the provided heaters, was fine.

It's nice to have more room than a hotel room. We've stayed at 5 star resorts on a beach that had been ranked #1. I enjoyed the space & quiet here more. We did miss the beaches, but they are less than an hour away. During our stay, storms made the beaches unusable anyway.

I don't want to compliment them too much, since we don't want the place to be sold out next time. :)

Rainbow cottage

  • 4 of 5

Secluded and comfortable. The owners have considered everything one might need and provided for it. Windy roads did not prevent us from finding local groceries or restaurants or exploring this part of the island.

So much aloha!

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we arrived at the Bee Cottage, we felt like we had "come home". The warm welcome we received from Candice and Richard, the spacious, comfortable and cozy cottage, the lovely gardens, the privacy and solitude, and all the extras, like coffee, tea, honey, great DVDs and books, and so much more, all made our stay here extraordinary! Having to leave after only 4 days was the only difficult part of our stay. Mahalo to Richard and Candice for your kindness, aloha and generous spirit. Laurie and Rusty

Beautiful place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

The property and cottage exceeded our expectations. The cottage was much larger than we thought it would be, well equipped for a comfortable stay and very clean. The owners are local, know the area well and can help with anything you may need to know. Location is central to seeing different areas of the island. Loved our stay there.

wonderful, unique place

  • 5 of 5

This was exactly what we wanted. Relatively close to the attractions we were interested in, but off the beaten track. Quiet and peaceful.

Richard and Candice are the perfect hosts striking a great balance between privacy and openness. Thanks.

Perfect leisure spot, lovely hosts.

  • 5 of 5

After a bit of trouble finding one right turn, we enjoyed a glorious restful vacation at this lovely property. The most wonderful was the attention to details paid by the host and hostess, who are among the loveliest people we shall ever meet. Weather was perfect. Whatever you see out the window, just enjoy it. Couldn't wait to get back each afternoon and read in the quiet of the evening. Awakened by a chirping frog perched on a lily pad. We hope to return. Owner's Response: Thank you for such lovely comments. It was really nice to meet you and your mom. You are amazingly energetic and your mom is amazingly vibrant at age 90! How wonderful that you saw a frog perched on a lily pad. We have not had the good fortune to see that ourselves:) Hope to have you and Marion back again. Mahalo!
