About the property

Townhome, 2 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 6-7)

Vacation in privacy but still be 3/4 mile from Main street in downtown Winter Park. Our very private 2 bedroom, 2.50 bath updated townhome unit is in a very small complex that sits on the edge of the Arapahoe National Forest so you can strap on your snowshoes or jump on your bike and be on the trails within 2 minutes. Bring up your ATV or your snowmobile and take off on the quiet and secluded trails just up the road. Better yet, you can catch the free resort shuttle with is about 100 yards from our driveway to wisk you 2-1/2 miles away to some of the most incredible skiing in the world.

Spend the end of your day relaxing on the leather sofa in the living room mesmerized by the flames of the fire in the woodstove or watch a good movie on the new LED HDTV. No worries about parking as we have our own free private parking lot.

Kick back on one of the two private decks off the bedrooms with a glass of wine or a cup of hot cocoa and enjoy the amazing mountain views. You can even spend your evening there star gazing into the sky away from the city lights.

Enjoy the rustic ski feel of this 3 story townhome unit with 2 bedrooms and 2.50 baths and lots of windows to view the mountain scenery surrounding the unit. The unit was updated in 2007-2008 with newer furniture, granite countertops, wood floors, carpeting, tile floors, and new mattresses. We have a LED HDTV for your TV viewing in the living room and have a small collection of movies for the DVD players. Our building only contains 6 units which are fairly sound proof and private.

The main floor consists of the fully equipped kitchen with a microwave/convection oven, eating nook, a bathroom, and living room with a leather sofa (with dual recliners) and two cushy leather rocker recliners. There is a large moss-rock fireplace with a high-efficient woodstove insert that extends up to the second floor keeping the bedrooms toasty warm. Wifi is also available.

The second floor consists of the master bedroom with a balcony deck off of it and a full bathroom. There is a small LED HDTV and DVD player in this bedroom. The third floor is connected to the second floor by a spiral staircase that opens up into a 2nd bedroom loft with a double bed plus a set of bunkbeds and a 1/2 bathroom. There is also a balcony deck off of this bedroom with some pretty spectacular star gazing sights.

The wood insert stove keeps you toasty warm without drying out your nasal passages. There are also two humidifiers in the unit for those who desire more humidity since Colorado has such low humidity.

The clubhouse, which is a block away, houses an indoor swimming pool, a hot-tub,and coin-operated laundry facility.

NOTE: Ocassionally, the owners will bring up one or two dogs when they use the unit. We do clean up well before we leave, but if you are allergic to animal dander, please re-consider. Per HOA rules, only owners are allowed to have pets on the property. MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT TO RENT THIS UNIT IS 25 YEARS OF AGE. Anyone younger must be accompanied by a responsible parent. This is a non-smoking unit (we have a child very allergic to smoke).

About The Owner

We are a Colorado family of hard cord skiers and snowboarders. We live about 90 minutes away along the front range. We use our place often in the winter and love the woodburning stove and the peace and quiet of our complex. At times, we do bring two of our dogs up to go hiking and snowshoeing with us as they love the outdoors as much as we do!.

The Owner purchased this townhome in 2005

Why The Owner chose Winter Park

We choose Winter Park as our vacation rental place because it is quick for us to get to and Winter Park gets more snow than almost all of the other resorts in Colorado. We chose Hideaway Village because our building is fairly secluded and very quiet and just has that rustic ski feel to it.

Cozy place

  • 4 of 5

My family and I stayed here while attending the Winter Park Jazz festival. It was clean and comfortable. I used a crock pot to put dinner on while we attended the show. It was perfect when we returned. I had never seen an oven like the one in this unit but it certainly did the job. I made garlic bread and brownies while we were there.

Nice place

  • 4 of 5

Nice cozy place to stay in Winter Park. It is not overly big. There was 3 of us staying there for a week. There were 4 beds, but I think it would have felt really crowded with 4 adults. Would certainly be doable, but 3 was a nice number.

Beds were comfortable and it was was very quiet. The hot water was super hot. It was nice having a grill. The condiments and spices were really nice. That made it much nicer to cook meals. There was other added benefits like 2 humidifiers.

The only thing I really did not like is that they share the WiFi with other units. My suggestion would be if you want to save some money, dump the cable tv and have your own WiFi. You can easily stream whatever you need to the tv. Cable tv is certainly not necessary, but when you are in the mountains with spotty cell phone coverage reliable WiFi is nice. AT and T coverage is only fair at Janet's place. There was a WiFi issue. It did get resolved, but it would be nice if the unit had it's own.

I would certainly stay there again and the owner was very quick to respond to any issues.

Spring skiing was made easy by this delightful home.

  • 4 of 5

Great location and appointments. Laundry is in a nearby community facility, but everything else is in house. Definitely a good bargain and nice, quaint spot.

the pro Not clean and had a lot of pet hair. Hot water was sub-par resulting in cold showers.

  • 2 of 5

We were disappointed in the cleanliness of the property, mainly from pet hair on carpets, bedding, and furniture. The hot water didn't last long enough to finish a shower, which is disappointing on a cold skiing trip. Kitchen accommodations where a little less than adequate. We will search for a new property next year for our ski trip.

Owner's Response: We have a brand new water heater this year and have had 5 take a shower with no lack of hot water. Our photos do show our kitchen and we have not hidden anything about the size of our kitchen. The photos show it all. It is small but gets the job done for a vacation home. Our housekeeper has been cleaning our home for over 10 years and there has never been a complaint about their cleaning. I'm sorry this renter was disappointed but so were we when we found the door to our TV armoire unable to close after their stay, we had to get a VCR player on the 3rd floor fixed since trash was jammed in the port and we couldn't get it all out and it took our house keepers double time to clean up. We are sorry we had to withhold some of the damage deposit for the repairs that were needed after this stay.

Enjoyed the stay!

  • 5 of 5

We loved the condo. first thing, it was very easy to do business with Janet. All emails were promptly answered. an

everything was how it was described. We have stayed off of vasquez rd before, and I will say its the best location for access to the slopes and shops. The condo was clean and had everything. We really enjoyed the stay.

Thanks Alan

Cozy townhome

  • 5 of 5

My cousin & I were up there for the Jazz fest and it was very convenient for us. After a long day at the park we were able to go to the townhome and just relax and enjoy. Neighbors were very friendly. Great place to stay :) The view was beautiful and Janet had everything you needed for your stay. The town home was very clean.
