Luxury Tent With 4 bunk beds, Bathroom, Kitchen Pavillion on 22 acres
About Beth Vonnegut
We moved up from the heat of Florida to enjoy the cool freshness of the Appalachian Mountains.
Beth Vonnegut purchased this Lodge in 2001
Why Beth Vonnegut chose
We fell in love with the property because it is secluded, yet only about 10 minutes from downtown blowing rock.
What makes this Lodge unique

Perfect spring break getaway
Loved loved loved it! Peaceful, beautiful, clean, and the perfect place to unwind without having to pack a tent and all the cooking gear. We can’t wait to return!
So glad you enjoyed your stay! We love being able to get away and have the camping experience without lugging all of the stuff, too! Would love to have you stay again. Thanks for leaving everything so nicely!

Upgraded Camping, Surrounded by Nature
A beautiful, very secluded location! Our boys loved the creek, hiking the trails, and the adventurous drive up and down the gravel road! Plenty of room in the big tent for the five of us. The pavilion has a very well equipped kitchen; you don't need to bring anything to cook with or serve food. The creek was even cold enough to keep your drinks cool! Would give it 5 stars if the fire pit patio had been cleaned off a bit and the grassy area behind the tent had been mowed so the kids could play in it.
Relaxing and peaceful with great fire ring!
Cabin tent was very comfortable. Bunks have air mattresses. Dining pavilion has full gas range with gas grill and plenty of countertop space. You may want to bring you own pans and cooking utensils if you enjoy camp style cooking. Be careful with directions leading down to site from the main road as a wrong turn could lead to a 4x4 only trail that is difficult to get out of. Great location with sound of stream in the background when falling asleep.
The facilities were lovely. The tent interior was neat and clean! Not buggy at all! Yea! Each bed had an air mattress which was very comfortable and clean. The owners thought of nearly everything! It was great to have light, running water, grill and gas stove in the pavilion. Our kids loved running around in the woods, playing in the stream and exploring the grounds. The owners were very attentive to my calls. I had to call several times with questions - like specific directions to the site, details on use of some of the amenities, etc. They were very responsive. However, I just wish they had provided all this info with the reservation confirmation. I was glad I had 4-wheel drive to get up and down the driveway. It isn't required but was helpful.
Beautiful and secluded
We had a wonderful stay. The area is big and secluded. It was a perfect getaway from busy city life. The place is hard to find - google maps led us to the wrong spot so we had to call Bob to get back on track - he was really helpful. We would definitely stay again.
One of our favorite places ever!
Our family has visited this little spot 3 times. Our son loves playing in the stream and exploring the beautiful property around the camp site. We all love sitting by the huge fire pit at night. It is very private and the perfect spot for anyone seeking a little nature and adventure slightly off the grid. The property used to have a queen bed which we do miss; the queen has been replaced by bunk beds with air mattresses. The Owner's are very nice and quick to respond to any questions.
Our campsite offers access into the pisgah national forest. Take advantage of lots of onsite hiking without having to leave the property. We also have 2 cabins onsite, but not visible from the campsite or each other, and have been used for family reunions, birthday celebrations, and weddings.
