About the property

Condo, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Our mountain retreat in the Shoshone Condo Hotel is nestled at the base of Lone Peak in the still-wild Northern Rocky Mountains, less that 1-hour's scenic drive from the Bozeman airport and historic district, old-west gold rush towns and Yellowstone Nat'l Park, where Old Faithful and the world's largest collection of Geysers is preserved. This wonderland is home to grizzly and black bears, wolves, herds of bison, elk and more.

Drive through the legendary Gallatin River Canyon, where 'The River Runs Through It' was filmed, to reach Big Sky, Montana, the perfect location for Rocky Mountain adventures.

Our Shoshone condo is a spacious, corner unit in the Shoshone Condominium Hotel in the Mountain Village of Big Sky Resort. You will ski in/out to the Biggest Skiing in America at 4,350 vertical ft and 3812 acres!

Our condo is very quiet and private with amazing views of Lone Peak and the Spanish Peaks from every room. Beehive Basin, a favorite trail for hiking, wildflowers, wildlife, and pristine alpine lakes is located in the Spanish Peaks caldera, viewed from the great room window.

Afternoon snowstorms or summer rain showers often bring rainbows arching above the valley and viewed from our great room window.

After a summer's day of hiking, fly fishing, white-water rafting, or a visit to Yellowstone National Park enjoy the farmers' market or free concerts in the Town Center. In winter, when the slopes close, soak in the heated outdoor pool and enjoy the lights and sounds of the Mountain Village night life.

The king-bedroom is private with a full private bath. The great room features 2 walls of windows providing sunrise and sunset views. The great room sleeps 4 with a queen sofa bed and queen Murphy bed that folds away easily. A second full bath is off the great room. The great room seats 6 comfortably with overstuffed sofa, chairs, and rocker. Both the bedroom and great room have flat screen TVs.

The full kitchen is well stocked with all appliances, cookware, dishes, glassware, silverware, and cleaning products! The dining area table seats 6.

All furnishings and artwork are new and in keeping with the Shoshone's name and Native American tribe that first inhabited this area.

The Shoshone is the closest lodging connected to the Yellowstone Conference Center in Big Sky's Mountain Village. In the Shoshone's lobby area you'll find the Conference Center entrance, concierge, restaurants, shops, the new and expanded Solace Spa and Salon , our private & staffed health club, ski locker room, theater and more. Walk to the mountain mall, BASECAMP activities, entertainment, and many dining options.

The indoor/out door pool and patio area are available year-round. Watch skiiers from the pool in winter, moose in summer.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We have had a wonderful stay here. Yes, it would've been nice to have had warmer weather. But, we have enjoyed this winter wonderland.

The condo suited us perfectly. It had absolutely everything that we needed. We will highly recommend it to our friends. And, hopefully we will have a chance to come back again in the near future.

Our Favorite Condo and Ski Resort

  • 5 of 5

This is one of the best Condo's in Big Sky. The owners are absolutely wonderful to deal with, nothing is to hard for them. The location is awesome with fab views from the windows, beds are very comfy and all the amenities you need for a month long stay. The spa is down stairs which is just what you need after a day's skiing. We have visited Yellowstone, gone dogsledding at Moonlight, Zip lined thru the resort, ate at great restaurants and skied every day possible. Looking forward to our next stay this year. Carl, Dianna and Montana ~ Sydney Australia.

Owner's Response: We look forward to having you back in just a few days for your March 2014 stay in our condo. We love our Aussies, and the Aussies love Big Sky. This year you can look forward to the same great snow base and lots of February powder. And, for those who travel from far away and want to stay awhile, did you know that with a stay of 30 days or more in Montana your stay is tax free?!

Great week of skiing in Big Sky

  • 5 of 5

Spent Christmas week with our family of five in this condo and had a great time! The bedding was comfortable, the kitchen and bathrooms were very clean, and the condo was pretty and had nice mountain views. The couple of minor issues that we had (needing more towels and pillowcases) were quickly attended to by Carlos from housekeeping. We particularly liked having the ski valet, and it was very convenient to keep skis and boots out of the room. The condo was right on the mountain, so we easily came back for lunch everyday. We had great dinners at Riverhouse Grill and Bucks T-4, but dinner at The Cabin was expensive and a bit disappointing. Definitely make dinner reservations well in advance if in Big Sky for a holiday week - the restaurants seem to fill up quickly. Overall a great vacation and we would love to come back!

Owner's Response: We love to hear when families share a magical Christmas week at Big Sky, as we did with our sons many moons ago. BIg Sky is known for a dependable white Christmas, but this year has been exceptional! Thanks for sharing your dining experiences also. It's best to hear from the folks who have eaten there lately when making a choice for dinner. We hope to have you back for another memorable family holiday.

Great stay!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I really enjoyed our week in your condo! We used it as a base from which to travel to Yellowstone, The Grand Tetons, Jackson, WY and Bozeman, as well as to enjoy the Big Sky area. The condo was in excellent condition with wonderful views of the mountains and surrounding areas. We had everything we needed and Stephen responded to all of my questions in a timely way. We would highly recommend this to others. Thank you for sharing it with us and if we ever get back to Big Sky, we would love to stay again.

Great place to stay, you can't go wrong!

  • 5 of 5

Being the clean freak that I am, I definitely did not feel the need to re-clean. The pictures are nice but seeing the real place is even more impressive. The condo truly had everything one needs. It was perfect for our family of four. With it being a one bedroom + two bath, our young adult children still enjoyed having their own beds (sofa sleeper and murphy bed) plus bathroom. I liked having two televisions to wind down at the end of day with no fighting over what to watch. No housekeeping came during our stay and I should have called about garbage pick up and new towels after a few days, but that is my fault. Highlights of our visit were taking a day trip to Yellowstone, the $30 pass gets you a week access into the park and wish we went back. There is too much to see there for one day. We also spent a day hiking up Bee Hive Basin. If the small parking lot is full and need to park on the side of the road...make sure your tires are off the road. Cars were getting tickets for that. It was a tough hike up the mountain and I slowed my family down, but it was amazing once we got to the top. There was a spot of snow that my husband and daughter continued to walk to and made snowballs. I enjoyed resting on a rock in the sun next to the small lake. We spent another day going to Ousel Falls which is beautiful and definitely worth seeing, later took the chairlifts at Big Sky for more amazing views and went down to Town Center for their music in the park. Tons of people who brought their own alcohol beverages, chairs, blankets but we just sat on the hill in the grass and bought a local beer and wine there. Thank you for sharing your amazing place with us and others.

Amazing Condo at Base of Big Sky Resort.

  • 4 of 5

Single bedroom Condo was amazing. Right at the Base of Big Sky Resort. Did not take advantage of onsite amenities, too busy enjoying the summer weather outside. Property was very clean and employees were very helpful. I would recommend this place for anyone.

Loved the property

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for peace and quiet during the summer months, this is the place to stay! I can imagine how busy it must be in peak ski season. Fly fishing outfitters nearby. Rafting close by also. Room is cozy and very clean. We really enjoyed it. Bed was comfortable and we thank you for supplying some basic staples. We would stay here again. Well worth the cost. It was about a 50 minute drive from the west entrance of Yellowatone. Stephen did a nice job of giving complete instructions on the property. Thank you!
