Perfect

  • 5 of 5

Convenient location, clean, spacious, and timely support by owner, if needed, and that's all you need to have a great vacation. The kitchen was perfect to cook small meals for children. There are 3 very usable bedrooms and two bathrooms (one jack-and-jill with a bathtub and one with a shower). The shower is small, but it was not uncomfortable for us in any way. The outdoor patio/sitting area was great to throw a ball with my 5year old boy or just sit outside with a beer. I would definitely come back, would suggest it to friends and will be my preferred place to stay every time I am in the Santa Monica area.

Perfect Bungalow, Perfect Location

  • 5 of 5

This adorable bungalow is the perfect backdrop for a Santa Monica vacation. It is charming, bright, clean, and spacious. The neighborhood is tranquil and feels safe. We loved walking back and forth to local coffee shops, the beach and Santa Monica Pier. Charles is a gracious and accommodating host. This home is a tremendous value. We can't wait to return!

Great location and all the amenities we needed

  • 5 of 5

A great spot for our family to vacation! We had three sets of adults staying, plus local family stop by to visit, and had plenty of room for all to relax in the living room, kitchen and patio. The only downside being that there was only one stand-in shower, the other bathroom had a tub which was not as ideal for adults needing to wash their hair but as long as you are on good terms and willing to share, was not a problem.

The space was charming, clean and cozy, the beds comfortable and the water hot. All rooms were well equipped with the necessities. The owner was helpful and accommodating. He provided a comprehensive check list and emergency contact info but was not very attentive to email - make sure you ask any questions well in advance of needing to know.

We walked a lot, rented bikes and used Uber when needed. The location was close to everything we wanted to see in Santa Monica - the beach, pier, promenade and city - as well as conveniences like Walgreens and Starbucks when needed as well as plenty of fantastic but more modest restaurants: Sushi Hanashi (on Lincoln) was surprisingly good. We also enjoyed donuts at Sidecar (on Wilshire) and meals at Komodo, Bareburger and M Street Kitchen (all on Main St). Our big night out was at Rustic Canyon and well worth it.

We would love to return and hope this house will be available when we do, we certainly recommend it!

Great property in the perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

We are a family of 5 (2 adults, 2 teens and 1 tween) traveling from Australia throughout USA. Our last stop was in Los Angeles and we are very pleased with the decision to stay in Santa Monica. It is such a laid back lovely part of LA and the property was just perfect. In fact it was better than what we expected.

Having the 3 bedrooms was a bonus as our youngest had spent most of the vacation sleeping on pull-out sofas so having her own space was a winner for all of us. The house is at the back of a property with easy separate side access from a lane. Open living space and lots of sun makes it a happy place - and the private courtyard is fantastic. Perhaps a BBQ would be good? All the amenities are adequate (dishwasher, washing machine, dryer etc) and sufficient kitchen appliances/tools to prepare meals if required. All the beds are comfortable and the place was clean with plenty of towels for our stay. The only suggestion I have is for a shower curtain/screen and showerhead in the main bathroom to enable showers as there is only a tub. We managed (in the ensuite) but it would have been nice to take showers more than one at a time after a day at the beach rather than all 5 of us using the ensuite.

Being so close to the beach (8 minute walk) was the best part about the location. The house has a real summer/beach feel to it and there are boogie boards, beach stuff and big towels too that you are welcomed to take to the beach. Santa Monica pier, the shopping promenade and Venice beach not too far away too. There is a great cafe on the same street (Dogtown Coffee) and plenty of good restaurants for a feed nearby.

We hired a car (I have a very brave husband) and the property supplies a parking permit to allow parking in the street - very handy. We did a hop-on-hop-off bus tour to visit all the LA landmarks and one of the companies departs from the pier. Highly recommend it if you have the desire to see LA in one day - and not too expensive. Although nothing is too far away - the traffic in LA is diabolical.

Santa Monica is definitely a safe area and quite family orientated. It was nice to see so many people taking their dogs for walks, kids for strolls and many jogging or just enjoying the beachside.

The host (Charles) introduced himself the day after we arrived and seemed a very friendly guy. We had no issues during our stay and were reluctant to go home. The other bonus is the fact that LAX airport is only 25 minutes away by car :)

Cute, clean, and close to the beach and restaurants

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at this home. The owner was easy to work with and provided excellent (and helpful) directions on accessing the rental, where to park, places to eat/shop, etc. The home was perfect for a single family or in our case, two families with one toddler each. I would not recommend this home for more than 4 adults, as you may find it too close for comfort, especially in sharing the two small bathrooms. There is a really nice outdoor space, which gave our kids a place to play in between outings and it offered a nice area to enjoy wine in the evening in the gorgeous weather. We loved the proximity to the Santa Monica Pier (about a 15 minute walk with our two toddlers) and even closer to some great restaurants on the way to and facing the beach. Parking was a little cumbersome, (it is only street parking) but the owner provides 1 parking pass and gives you a little more leverage in that regard. The only thing you might want to bring from home is your own pillow if you need larger/firmer pillows than the ones they provide. Bottom line-- If you are looking for a clean and comfortable place to freshen up and lay your head then I think you'll find this to be a perfect accommodation.

Couldn't get any better.

  • 5 of 5

The place was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. Close to beach, stores and downtown Santa Monica. Have nothing wrong to say about my stay there. The owner was very pleasant to do business with.
