About the property

3-Bed/3-Bath Luxury Pool House by Kona Beaches

Uniquely modern 3-bedroom home within the privacy and security of a quiet, gated neighborhood. You're just a few minutes' walk from powder-white Magic Sands beach and a few miles' drive to snorkeling at Kahaluu Beach Park, or boating and paddling activities at beautiful Keauhou Bay. Hop on a bicycle (it's included!) and grab fresh fruits and veggies, or a cup of our local Kona coffee, from any of the three nearby farmers' markets.

In October, you'll have a front-row view of the Ironman triathlete contestants as they journey down Ali'i Drive.

Return home to enjoy breathtaking sunsets and cruise ship views from the 2nd floor wraparound lanai. Cool off with a dip in the indoor-outdoor, extra-deep swimming pool amid lush landscaping, including King coconut palm trees and fragrant plumeria and gardenia. Read a good book or revel in the luxury of a catnap nestled in the backyard hammock. Interiors feature vaulted ceilings with 8ft doors throughout, gourmet kitchen with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and cherry wood cabinetry.

Take your pick from a variety of board games, children’s toys, Wii system, cable TV, DVDs and books for a quiet evening in.

At dinnertime, grill outdoors or reap the benefits of being right in the heart of Kailua-Kona village, where fresh seafood restaurants abound.

Awaken to chirping birds after a good night's sleep in any of our three en-suite bedrooms; two with king-size beds and one queen. Large comfy couch and additional mattresses provided for extra guests.

Excellent Vacation Home

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time staying in a vacation rental, and it was all we hoped it would be. I only had to contact the home owner a couple of times, and she responded to my emails in a very timely manner. The house was very clean and had everything that was advertised. It's also extremely close to a beautiful beach and very close (driving, not walking) to some wonderful restaurants. The house doesn't have air conditioning, so when we were there we spent a lot of time out on the lanai or in the swimming pool. We learned very quickly that we couldn't leave any type of food on the counter for longer than a few minutes before the bugs appeared. The house did provide plenty of tin foil and plastic/seran wrap, but not many storage containers. Remember to stock up on zip-lock bags and bag clips while you're shopping for your food. The next time we vacation on the big island, we'll definitely consider renting this house again.

Wonderful stay, just perfect

  • 5 of 5

The home was wonderful. Clean, decorated beautifully with all necessary ammentities that we could ask for. The pool was awesome, with toys, outside shower and bathroom just off the pool. All bedrooms have their own bath which was very convenient for our party of 3 couples. Very close to beaches. We will definitely stay again.

Beautiful and great for big families

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time staying at a vacation rental. Being in the travel industry I've always believed that it's best to stay at a hotel because you always know what your going to get based on the name brand. I reseached a lot of vacation rentals and when I finally booked with Michelle she was very honest that due to spring break the dates we wanted was in the middle of guest checking in and out and we had to make arrangements around housekeeping. But was accomodating to our request. I found that the instructions given before our arrival and what we needed to do for our departure were a great help.

The home itself is true to what you see in the pictures. It is beautiful. We thought we had to buy a lot of things for our weekend but the cubbards are full of things to use...even a rice cooker which was important for our local family. It is also secluded enough that I was not concerned when the kids swam at night and were laughing and enjoying the pool and the full room of floaties they could use. The only drawback was the lighting in the home. It was a little dim but once we found a few lamps it was fine. Overall we would stay at the property again. Home away and Michelle have made a good impression on this long time hotel user.

Our first vacation to Hawaii

  • 5 of 5

First of all we had an amazing time. The house met all of our expectations and beyond. There was six of us and there was plenty of room. Stocked full if everything you would need. The pool was awesome being 10ft deep at one end was really nice. When we felt like just relaxing for the day the pool came in handy with the kids. The kitchen was spacious and full of everything you needed for cooking. Loved that the garage was full of boogie boards, snorkling gear, beach chairs, and towels for the pool and beach stocked full in the poolside bathroom. We just fell in love with the place. The homeowner Michelle was awesome as well as the property manager really nice people to work with. I recommend this home to anyone with families. We plan to be back there someday it was a vacation we will always remember.

Loved it! It was a hit for our ladies week long getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Everything was as detailed in the description and was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. It was very clean and very well maintained. We felt very at home with the place along with the occasional geckos, which very timid and adorable. The property manager checked in on us at the beginning and the end of the stay to make sure everything was as expected. She was a delight to speak to and work with. We did rent a car and the downtown (tourist) of Kona was just a short drive away along with the marina and other fun excursions. This is definitely a great place to stay and we even enjoyed the pool and BBQ, which were all in clean and working order.

Great location and great amenities

  • 5 of 5

My buddies and I stayed at the house over a long weekend for a "Boys Trip." The house was clean and extra bedding was laid out for us when we arrived. The property is beautiful and set in a gated community that is minutes walking distance from the white sands beach park. The pool was a perfect touch for relief from the hot sandy and salty beach, that we frequented every day. We even used some of the snorkeling equipment and boogie boards at the local beach a few miles from the house. Property management was attentive and available for some questions we had regarding propane for the BBQ grill. They actually drive to refill a tank for us to ensure we had enough to use for the weekend. Over all the experience was great and would definitely plan another trip back to the "gates pool oasis!"

Our home is on an 0.4 acre lot in Kailua-Kona village in a quiet, private gated neighborhood that intersects with Ali'i Drive, which is a 6-mile coastline road dotted with two bays and many swimming, snorkeling & surf beaches. You can walk (1/3rd of a mile) to a few of these, and of course there is beach parking available too. We are about 3 miles from resort hotels, shopping and many restaurants of every category at either end of Ali'i Drive. Sailing, surfing, paddling, snorkeling, parasailing, deep sea fishing, glass bottom boat, hiking and biking, and luaus and hula lessons, many Kona coffee farm/tasting tours, all nearby. Our family loves the morning snorkel-sail on the Fairwinds, which docks in Keauhou Bay. For an awesome lunch with a panoramic view of the Kona coast, try Sam Choys Kai Lani. A casual dinner (kid friendly) with local brews at Kona Brewing Co. can't be beat - everything on the menu is YUMMY. If it's your first trip to Hawaii, a luau is a must (a little cheesy, yes, but fun) - the show at King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel is great family fun. Bigger beaches like Hapuna state park, the Place of Refuge historic park/hike, Captain Cook's monument in Kealakekua Bay, zip lining, helicopter tours, ATV tours and horseback riding are all less than an hour's drive. And, because our little village has a sizable population, we have the convenience of Target, Safeway, Costco, and other big chain stores too :)
